KOLKATA: Monojit Mishra aka Mango, the key accused in the rape of a 24-year-old college student in Kolkata, had long exhibited psychopathic tendencies and a penchant for sexual violence, according to former classmates and juniors. Complaints of molestation, assault, extortion, and harassment were filed against him, but no action followed. Mishra retained access to campus buildings, manipulated college WhatsApp groups, and controlled information flow, several students said. "This person and his aides were a terror, especially for girls. Authorities knew everything but protected him. Bengaluru woman kills pet dog, keeps decomposed body in flat for 3 days
Bengaluru: A woman has been booked on charges of killing her pet dog and keeping the body in her flat at Doddanekkundi, Mahadevapura, for three days. The incident came to light when other occupants of the apartment alerted civic authorities Thursday, saying a foul smell was emanating from the flat. Residents said the occupant, identified as Triparna Paik, wasn't cooperating with them to find the source of the smell and understand what had happened inside the flat. With the help of local police, a BBMP veterinary doctor entered the flat and found the decomposed body of a black male labrador retriever. Police issued her a notice, directing her to appear before them for a statement. The autopsy report of the dog read, "The possible cause of death may be slitting of the neck and fracture of ribs."
