Helicopter repair facility at Honda to start in 3 months: CM

on Thursday said that the helicopter repair and overhaul facility at Honda in Sattari will commence its operation within three months. He said that infrastructure work at the facility had been completed.
'Within three months, the facility will commence operations. It will generate employment in the state,' Sawant said.
Last week, the CM held discussions with defence minister
Rajnath Singh
and urged him to commence operations as soon as possible. Singh assured the CM that operations would start.
Almost nine years after the foundation stone was laid for the helicopter repair and overhaul facility at Honda, the plant is yet to be made operational.
The construction was delayed due to Covid, there was not much progress. Last year, the work resumed and work is now complete.
Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and French aerospace giant Safran have signed an MoU to extend cooperation and explore opportunities for new helicopter engines in civil and military markets. HAL, the defence public sector undertaking, and Safran have set up Helicopter Engines MRO Pvt Ltd (HEMRO) as a joint venture to repair TM333 and Shakti gas turbine engines.

The Shakti engine is installed on HAL's advanced light helicopter known as 'Dhruv' and its variants, including 'Rudra' and light combat helicopter.
The Ardiden 1U engine powers the new light utility helicopter, a 3-tonne single-engine aircraft.
Former defence minister Manohar Parrikar laid the foundation stone for the project in July 2016, but the Goa Industrial Development Corporation gave the green signal to transfer the land to the aerospace firm only in Dec 2017.
HAL acquired the assets of the defunct Goa Automobile Accessories Ltd for Rs 7 crore, and with Safran India, will invest Rs 170 crore to set up HEMRO.
India's armed forces are among the largest operators of Safran-designed helicopter engines, with over 1,000 engines operational across the country, including 250 TM333 and over 500 Shakti engines. Shakti is the Indian variant of the Safran Ardiden 1H1, co-developed with HAL.

Odisha's infrastructure plans in eco-zones to be reviewed by CEC
BHUBANESWAR: Odisha government's plans for tourism and infrastructure projects in sensitive zones of critical protected areas (PAs) of the state have drawn the notice of the Supreme Court-appointed Central Empowered Committee (CEC). The panel has now called for a meeting and asked chief secretary Manoj Ahuja to discuss crucial tourism and bridge infrastructure projects as well as the matter pertaining to eco sensitive zone (ESZ) finalisation. The meeting is scheduled on July 17 at New Delhi. Sources said issues of governance and execution model for tourism infrastructure which have a bearing on sanctuaries, national parks, tiger reserve areas and Ramsar sites will be taken up by the CEC. Similarly, tourism projects requiring forest and ESZ clearances and stake of the Tourism department in ESZ finalisation will also be discussed. The SC-constituted panel has also asked the principal chief conservator of forests (general), PCCF (wildlife) and Secretary, Tourism department to be take part in the meeting which will specifically discuss two critical infrastructure projects in the state. One of the contentious projects is the proposed construction of a two-lane national highway over Chilika lagoon by the National Highways Authority of India. The 7.740 km project, estimated at a cost of around Rs 526.08 crore, had prompted the expert appraisal committee (EAC) of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to seek a cost-benefit analysis from the state government.

NTR district sets Rs 18.23 lakh crore GDP target under Swarnandhra Vision
VIJAYAWADA: NTR District In-charge Minister Y Satya Kumar Yadav announced that draft plans for the development of Vijayawada and other constituencies were prepared based on available resources, with a target of Rs 18.23 lakh crore Gross Domestic Product (GDP). At a review meeting held in Vijayawada on Saturday, the Minister, along with MP Kesineni Sivanath, MLAs Gadde Rammohan, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Sriram Rajgopal, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, and Collector G Lakshmisha, discussed progress under the Swarnandhra P4 ('Public, Private, People Partnership) Foundation. They reviewed key sectors including agriculture, industry, services, tourism, food processing, zero-budget natural farming, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and mechanisation. During the meeting the NTR District In-charge Minister stated, 'P4 is a key chapter in good governance,' and added that implementation will align with Swarnandhra goals through regular reviews. Saty Kumar Yadav said the district's per capita income in 2023–24 stood at Rs 3,21,651, with targets of Rs 6,38,946 by 2028–29 and Rs 1,10,0000 by 2047–48. Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman K Pattabhiram, Krishna District Cooperative Central (KDCC) Chairman Nettem Raghuram, Joint Collector S Ilakkiya, and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Commissioner Dhanachandra HM also took part in the review meeting.

Telangana minister hits back at BJP over its party state chief's letter to CM
Hyderabad: Telangana Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday slammed the state BJP leaders for writing letters to the state government over its alleged failures. Day after newly-appointed BJP state president Ramchander Rao wrote a letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging non-fulfilment of promises made by the Congress party, the minister launched a counter-attack with an open reply to the BJP. Ponnam Prabhakar said that it's ironic that those who "failed" to get even one paisa for the state from the Centre, were writing letters to them. He described the BJP government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a "mega failure". He alleged that the BJP backtracked on all the promises made to people in the last three elections. The minister said that the BJP government has a long list of "failures". "It's laughable that leaders of such a party are writing letters to the chief minister," he said. "Apart from making grand promises, inciting hatred, and spreading lies, you have done nothing. Farmers, youth, women, the poor, SC, ST, BC, minorities... you have a history of deceiving every section of society. If we write about your failures, it would be as long as the Ramayana; if we listen, it would be as vast as the Mahabharata,' the minister told the BJP leader in his response on 'X'. The Congress leader listed out the promises made by the BJP in the elections which were never fulfilled. These include a monthly pension for small and marginal farmers above 60 years of age, increasing to Rs 6,000 annual Kisan Samman Nidhi for farmers' crop investment support, filling 10 lakh vacancies in the government, Rs 15 lakh to every household and two crore jobs annually. "What have you done for Telangana in 11 years? Not a single rupee has come to Telangana. What have you, or the 8 BJP MPs and two Union Ministers from this state, done?," he asked. Prabhakar asked the BJP leaders about their stance on Prime Minister Modi's statement in Parliament, allegedly criticising the formation of Telangana state. The minister came down heavily on the BJP for not fulfilling the commitments made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He advised the state BJP leaders to write letters to Prime Minister Modi to fulfil the promises made to Telangana. The Congress leader said that writing a letter to the Congress government formed one and a half years ago, and asking it to do everything in a short period reflects the "blind hatred" of BJP leaders.
