Family and friends gather at Diogo Jota's wake as queue forms outside chapel
The brothers' parents attended the Sao Cosme Chapel, the Capela da Ressurreicao, in the town of Gondomar near Porto on Friday, with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Prime Minister Luis Montenegro and Jota's agent also among attendees.
Some mourners embraced and cried before entering the venue as floral tributes of yellow and white and candles were lain by a tree outside.
People held service sheets featuring pictures of both brothers, the largest one showing Jota smiling in his Liverpool FC shirt and making a heart sign with his hands.
One man came to pay his respects wearing a Liverpool top.
The wake comes ahead of their funeral, which parish priest at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar in Sao Cosme, Jose Manuel Macedo, said would begin at 10am on Saturday.
Liverpool Football Club postponed the return of players for pre-season following Jota's death, as a number of players past and present paid tribute.
The club's manager, Arne Slot, said the 'sense of shock is absolute', adding: 'He was a loved one to all of us.'
Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson returned to Anfield with flowers and a club scarf on Friday as he paid his own tribute to Jota.
A sea of floral tributes had been left outside the ground, with many Liverpool fans and supporters of other clubs looking to pay their respects.
Flags have been lowered to half-mast at the stadium and all club stores, museums and tours have been closed until Monday, with staff offered wellbeing support.
Liverpool forward Mo Salah said the loss has made the prospect of returning to the club frightening.
He shared a black and white picture of him and Jota hugging on the pitch on social media, saying: 'I am truly lost for words.
'Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me of going back to Liverpool after the break.
'Team mates come and go but not like this. It's going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won't be there when we go back.'
Jota and Silva were both found dead after the car crashed on the A-52 in Palacios de Sanabria near the city of Zamora at 12.40am on Thursday.
Police said they were investigating the possibility that the Lamborghini left the road because of a tyre blowout while overtaking, and a source from the government sub-delegation in Zamora confirmed 'a possible speeding incident' was being looked at.
Pictures of the aftermath of the crash showed debris scattered along the side of the road including what appeared to be charred parts of the vehicle.
No other vehicles are said to have been involved in the incident.
The club has opened physical and digital books of condolence in the wake of the deaths, and supporters and members of the public can go to the Anfield Road Stand reception area over the coming days to sign a message.

Rodgers last night watched his side get a good 2-0 win over Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon in Faro. What pleased him more than anything from the week away, though, was the team spirit forged OFF the park. Reo Hatate's second-half penalty and Luke McCowan's cool finish only enhanced the feel-good factor around the group as they gear up for the new campaign. Rodgers said: 'It's been an excellent trip for us. 'It seems like a long time ago since we were in Cork, but coming out to here, it's been a pleasure to get a lot of good work in. 'What's very important is the camaraderie and the spirit that you create when you're away on pre-season tours. 'This has been everything that we've wanted, and we want to finished off with another really good game. 'It's always about timing. You're pushing the players to their very maximum. 'Physically the guys are improving. 'These early moments of pre-season, they're all about the tests, physically and mentally and the guys are coping really well.' Celtic played some really good stuff against the Portuguese champions. There was just something missing in the final third in the first-half. Adam Idah may see himself as a No9 capable of scoring 30-plus goals for Rodgers in the season ahead. But his first-half finishing didn't back that up. The Irishman should have scored inside five minutes from a Daizen Maada cut-back, but he couldn't sort his feet out. Then in 25 minutes Kieran Tierney picked out the striker inside the six-yard box with a sensational cross. But again Idah failed to make the right connection. Rodgers was standing out on the touchline as both chances came and went. And each time he turned around to his coaches on the bench in frustration. Idah has so many qualities with his stats last season decent. He hit 20 goals. And it's not like this was a big Champions League play-off. But one of those is just around the corner and you can't help think that Celtic will have signed a new goalscorer by then. It was maybe always the plan to take Idah off at half-time and replace him with youngster Johnny Kenny. But he'll be gutted he didn't make the most of his night. Kenny made an immediate impact as he continues to impress. He was the man tripped inside the box at the incident which saw Celts score from the penalty spot in 47 minutes. It was Kenny's first involvement with Hatate beating keeper Matheus Reis with a blasted spot-kick. Idah wasn't the only one who could have done better in front of goal before the break. Daizen Maeda was one-on-one with the goalkeeper after Callum McGregor played the through-ball of the night. Benjamin Nygren also passed up a decent opportunity to hit the net. The midfielder had a really good game, though. His touch and awareness was impressive, with the Swede showing a good turn of pace took him from middle to front in the blink of an eye. Sporting will feel unfortunate they didn't score past either Kasper Schmeichel in the first-half or Viljami Sinisalo in the second. Skipper Morten Hjulmand came closest with a drilled shot which smashed off the post after 57 minutes. That was around a spell in the game when Sporting looked like they'd get the next goal. But Celts were soon 2-0 in front. Kid Kenny led a brilliant break and fed a neat pass to McCowan bust a gut to get forward, calmly stepped inside before slotting home. 5 Overall, Rodgers was delighted with the effort he got from his squad throughout their Portuguese camp. He added: 'The facilities were excellent. 'We've shown the players that we want to bring them to top-quality facilities and that has been really good. 'The game against Estrela the other day, of course we want to win every single game that we play but getting the players the minutes in their legs and getting young players game-time was important. 'Then there was the connection with the visit to Estádio Nacional on Monday. 'That was a really poignant moment, I felt, for us to take the players to the place where real history was created. 'It's a symbol for the guys of what they have to live up to and what they have to work towards every single day. 'So I'm really pleased with the on-field application. Celtic claim friendly win against Sporting in the Algarve
Celtic rounded off their training camp in Portugal with a 2-0 win over Sporting Lisbon. Second-half goals from Reo Hatate and substitute Luke McCowan earned Celtic victory at the Estadio Algarve near Faro. Brendan Rodgers' side delivered a polished display and controlled possession for long spells against the Portuguese champions. Celtic lined up with Dane Murray in central defence and summer signing Benjamin Nygren in midfield and created the better first-half chances, although goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel pulled off one save at full stretch. Adam Idah failed to get enough power on two efforts from good opportunities and Daizen Maeda forced a good stop with a powerful volley. Half-time substitute Johnny Kenny earned Celtic a 47th-minute penalty when he beat a defender to James Forrest's cross after a slick and purposeful passing move. Hatate converted in off the goalkeeper. Kenny was also involved in the second goal in the 72nd minute with his run and through ball setting up McCowan, who showed good feet before slotting into the bottom corner. Who impressed as Celtic beat Sporting CP in pre-season
The Portuguese champions provided a step up in opposition for Brendan Rodgers' men, who had previously come up against Queen's Park, Cork City, and Estrela de Amadora. Rodgers made seven alterations from Celtic's recent 3-2 loss to the latter, with Kasper Schmeichel returning to the ranks, and summer signing Benjamin Nygren getting his first start in green and white. The Swede impressed with his display, providing an ample link between defence and attack, looking athletic and a continual threat going forward. He came off in place of fellow countryman Johnny Kenny at the break, who, within just a few second-half minutes, won a penalty for Celtic. Driving forward, the striker played a fine ball into the path of Luke McCowan. He nutmegged his man to open up space for a shot, which he calmly slid into the bottom-right corner. Celtic's two-goal advantage was maintained in the closing stages, as they ended their Portuguese training camp in the most productive of manners. Next up, the Scottish Premiership champions welcome English Premier League side Newcastle United to Parkhead this Saturday at 3pm.
