Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning amassed Rs. 37.75 crore (USD 4.40 million) in its shortened two-day weekend in India. While these are big numbers for a Hollywood film in India, the Tom Cruise led franchise has delivered better in the past and are, therefore, somewhat underwhelming.
The Saturday-Sunday total is notably lower than that of its predecessor, Dead Reckoning, which earned Rs. 77 crore during its five-day extended weekend, with Rs. 41 crore coming from Saturday and Sunday. Even Mission: Impossible – Fallout managed Rs. 35 crore over the same two-day period back in 2018, a figure that would adjust to over Rs. 50 crore today, something which was expected from this film.

The Kajol starrer also faced a major dent by Aamir Khan's holdover release, Sitaare Zameen Par, which witnessed a 100% growth from its second Friday to second Saturday. It will be interesting to see how Maa performs further on the weekdays. It will have a new competition from next weekend onwards as Anurag Basu's romantic drama, Metro…In Dino, is slated to hit the screens on July 4th. Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed his return to Hera Pheri 3, saying all issues have been 'resolved now.' In a podcast with Himanshu Mehta, Paresh was asked about the Hera Pheri 3 controversy. He replied, 'There's no controversy. I believe that when people have loved something so much, then you have to be extra careful. It is our responsibility toward the audience. The audience has given you so much adulation. When told that fans were disappointed by Paresh's exit from Hera Pheri 3 and had called him 'foolish,' Akshay said it was 'not right' to refer to his 'good friend' Paresh as 'foolish.' 'Using this kind of word for one of my co-star like a foolish word or something. I would not appreciate it, and that's not right. I worked with him since the last 30-35 years, we are very good friends. He's a great actor and I really admire him,' said Akshay, adding, ''It's a very serious matter. It is a matter which is going to be handled by the court.'
