Ruben Amorim prepared to reintegrate exiled Man Utd players if valuations not met
Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia have been excluded from the squad that has travelled to the United States for the club's pre-season tour, with the quartet seeking transfers away from Old Trafford.
But while they have had to work separately from the first team squad since United returned for training ahead of the new season, Amorim acknowledged that he would be prepared to accept the players back into his squad should they not be sold.
"Some players have to find a new place to have more space in the team and other players clearly show they want a new challenge and want new teams," he told reporters in Chicago ahead of their pre-season meeting with West Ham United on July 26.
"We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide. If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join the team because they are our players.
"I'm ready to receive the players. They have more competition, more competition if you want to play in the World Cup next year, you need to play. So I'm really happy with that because I have more options. If they have to fight each other to play, for me it's perfect."
United have signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo so far in the transfer window, while England winger Marcus Rashford has left to join Barcelona on loan, as Amorim's side looks to bounce back from a lowly 15th place finish in last year's Premier League table.

The club's financial situation is reportedly such that United need to sell players if they want to add to their squad. Chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox are charged with finding buyers for their "bomb squad".
"I know for a fact these people - Jason, Omar and the club - have a number for these players," added Amorim. "If they don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that.
"I understand the (interested) clubs are waiting for the last minute but they can have a surprise."
Meanwhile, while the club are in need of a new striker, Amorim also hinted that he is happy with having just Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
'They can play as a striker,' he said of Cunha and Mbeumo when questioned on the club's striker pursuit.
'We have Josh, we have Rasmus, so our focus is to improve the connection between them.' REUTERS

SINGAPORE – Competing alongside rivals whom he idolises, James Lichtenstein earned himself a place in the pantheon on July 27 by clinching the high diving title at the World Aquatics Championships (WCH) for the first time. The 30-year-old American, who was trailing leader Carlos Gimeno of Spain by 24.7 points heading into the final round of the men's 27m platform at Sentosa's Palawan Green, executed a clutch dive to claim the gold medal, which was also his country's first at the WCH after 17 days of competition. 'Amazing, incredible, a dream come true. I know I can dive well, but to put it together when it counts is a thrilling feeling,' he said. 'I've been looking up to those guys (his fellow competitors) for years, and I started only four years ago. 'That first year for me was the adjustment period, like 'I'm diving with these idols', but now, I know I can compete with the best of them.' At WCH 2025, he topped the 14-strong field with 428.90 points after round 6, ahead of Gimeno (425.30) and Romania's Constantin Popovici (408.70). Executing five somersaults in the tuck position after a backward take-off, Lichtenstein scored a massive 143.10 points in the final round to surpass Gimeno's armstand 4½ tuck (114.80) and pip him to the gold by 3.6 points. '(From) being in first all the time for the whole competition… And at the end, just miss the gold by a little bit (three points).' Pointing to his heart, he added: 'That hurt a lot, you know, and that's something that I'm gonna remember, (because it) hit here. 'I guess God didn't want to give me this gold medal this time… But chin up because this sport is so difficult and so dangerous and I'm proud of myself, I put in my best performance.' The Spaniard had led through the first three rounds and again after the fifth, but as he prepared for his sixth and final dive, his hand wobbled while getting in position for his handstand. Gimeno added: 'Normally we have only four rounds of competition. Here we have six rounds, so when I did the handstand, I felt a little tired. But yeah, it's painful. Second place, not good.' But he is keeping a positive attitude and looking to bounce back at the high diving World Cup in Porto Flavia, Italy on Aug 30 and 31. 'It's another competition. Popovici, who topped the field after the fourth round, said of his performance: 'In round 5, I missed my back twist by a bit, just a slight short from vertical (entry). LONDON/SINGAPORE: Arsenal's new signing Viktor Gyokeres was spotted at Singapore's Changi Airport on Sunday evening (Jul 27), a day after the Premier League club announced the signing of the Swedish international striker from Sporting Lisbon. Gyokeres, who is expected to bolster Arsenal's attacking options as they attempt to challenge for the title, will meet up with his new teammates in their ongoing pre-season tour of Singapore and Hong Kong. He arrived on a flight from London at about 5.30pm and was greeted by up to 40 local fans who shouted his name, and took a few wefies. The marquee signing was then swiftly whisked away. The 27-year-old, who fired Sporting to the Portuguese title last season with 39 goals and netted a Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City, is reported to have signed a five-year deal in a transfer worth an initial £57.4 million (US$77.1 million). Gyokeres' transfer, which could end up costing the north London club as much as £66.4 million with performance-related add-ons, takes Arsenal's close-season spending to the region of £200m. "To come here to a club on Arsenal's level, I think it's going to help me perform even better with all the amazing players in this team. I'm really excited to get going," said Gyokeres.
