Madhya Pradesh gets investment proposals worth Rs 15,606 crore during interactive session with Punjab industrialists

Yadav said that Ludhiana, an industrial hub, is also known as the Manchester of India.
More than 400 delegates, including top honchos from varied industries, participated in the interactive session.

The chief minister also interacted with more than 15 industrialists in one-on-one discussions, saying they were apprised of the government's policies with regard to the industry and how they can expand their businesses.
Sharing details about the investment proposals of 15 companies from Punjab, he said Trident Group has promised to invest Rs 5,000 crore, Ralson Tyres Rs 2,000 crore, the Vardhman Industries Rs 1,581 crore, AB Cotspin Group Rs 1,300 crore, Nahar Group Rs 1,100 crore, Deepak Fasteners, Rs 1,000 crore, among others.

The discussions with delegates from textile, readymade garments, cycles, sports equipment, engineering, auto parts, machine tools were held.
Inviting Punjab investors to invest in MP, the CM said, "Our policies are so attractive and investors have evinced keen interest".
He said there was sufficient water supply, surplus electricity, adding that there was a land bank of one lakh acres and a good road network in MP.
Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the country is making fast progress.
The country is moving towards becoming the third largest world economy, he said.
Asked why the industry would leave Punjab to make investments in MP, he replied that they do not have to leave the state and they can expand their businesses.

SC tells Isha Foundation to seek Deli HC relief against magazine's defamatory reports
New Delhi, July 21 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed Sadhguru's Isha Foundation to approach the Delhi High Court for its plea seeking to restrain Tamil media outlet Nakkheeran Publications from publishing allegedly defamatory content against it. The court also directed Nakkheeran to raise its contentions, including the issue of maintainability, in the Delhi High Court. A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi disposed of the transfer petition filed by Nakkheeran Publications as well as the interlocutory application filed by Isha Foundation in the matter. Nakkheeran Publications had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to transfer the Rs. 3 crore defamation suit against it in the Delhi High Court to Chennai High Court. Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi, appearing for Isha Foundation, argued that despite a defamation suit pending before the Delhi High Court, Nakkheeran continued publishing defamatory material, including allegations of organ trade against the Foundation. Isha Foundation opposed the transfer of the case to Chennai, stating that such grounds were impermissible. On the other hand, Senior Advocate R Balasubramaniam, representing Nakkheeran, submitted that Isha Foundation secured listing of its application without notice to the respondent and was seeking the same relief that had already been denied by the Delhi High Court. He argued that the question of jurisdiction should be decided first. 'For the last 8 months, they have been happy because there is no injunction granted to them. But in my petition, they are seeking the same relief which was denied by High Court… the next date is in August,' he submitted. Justice Kant observed that grounds such as lack of jurisdiction may not justify transfer of the suit. He suggested that Nakkheeran raise these issues before the Delhi High Court through an application under Order 7 Rule 11 CPC. Accepting the bench's suggestion, Balasubramaniam withdrew the transfer petition, resulting in the disposal of Isha Foundation's interlocutory application as well. Last year, Isha Foundation filed a Rs. 3 crore defamation suit against Nakkheeran Publications in the Delhi High Court, alleging that its publications tarnished the Foundation's reputation. In response, Nakkheeran Publications filed a transfer petition before the Supreme Court seeking to shift the defamation case to Chennai. During the hearing, Rohatgi highlighted that Nakkheeran continued its 'vilification campaign' on social media despite the pending suit, adding, 'We are a charitable organisation with disciples all across the world… today, on social media, he's going on and on…' The Supreme Court, however, clarified that the Delhi High Court should decide the pending applications of both parties expeditiously. Property dealers concerned about Bhilwara's growth plan
Bhilwara: A controversy has erupted in Bhilwara as the local Property Dealers and Brokers Association has accused the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) of making unauthorised alterations to the city's master plan, potentially affecting development for the next 50 years. The association's legal in-charge, Rajkumar Taylor, Monday alleged that UIT officials have disregarded govt orders while modifying the city's master plan. Of particular concern is the marking of what appears to be a 1200-feet wide road in the multipurpose plan, which officials later clarified is actually intended as a green belt. The association also raised issues regarding the ongoing lottery process for 3,081 residential plots across nine housing schemes. It questioned the higher application fee of Rs 2,000 in Bhilwara compared to Rs 1,000 in Ajmer, resulting in approximately Rs 20 crore in collections. Additionally, it claimed that recent modifications to the notification have inadvertently excluded many women applicants, contrary to state and central govt policies promoting women's empowerment. Property developer Kailash Kothari expressed concerns about UIT's modifications, including the proposal for a 1200-feet wide road. Kothari highlighted that this development would affect farmlands falling within the road's vicinity, causing distress to farmers. He warned that if UIT fails to revise these changes, the association would seek legal intervention through the courts. District collector and current UIT Chairman Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, however, denied these allegations, stating, "The multipurpose plan and Section 32 remain unchanged. We welcome suggestions from citizens through the designated committee." UIT secretary Lalit Goyal clarified that the controversial 1200-feet marking represents a green belt, not a road, and assured that the multipurpose plan remains intact. The Property Dealers Association, led by president Jagjivan Jaiswal, has threatened legal action if their concerns are not addressed and plans to seek intervention from the Chief Minister and the UDH minister.

UP sanctions Rs 6 crore projects to boost tourism in Kapilvastu
Lucknow: In view of the increasing tourist footfall, the state govt has sanctioned projects worth Rs 6 crore for the development of facilities in Kapilvastu in Siddharthnagar district. "The sanctioned projects aim to enhance infrastructure, build essential tourist amenities, and preserve important sites," said Jaiveer Singh, tourism and culture minister. Kapilvastu was the childhood home of Lord Buddha, making it an immensely sacred destination for followers of Buddhism. Officials said that more than 61 lakh tourists visited Buddhist destinations in 2024. Of this, 79,418 Buddhist tourists, including 62,790 domestic and 16,628 foreign visitors, went to Kapilvastu. The footfall in Kapilvastu tripled since 2022. In 2022, only 26,805 tourists visited Kapilvastu, of which just 98 were international tourists. The footfall has also created a demand and need for better tourist amenities. In wake of this, the department approved infrastructure projects worth Rs 6 crore in Kapilvastu. "The development of the Buddhist Circuit, enhancement of tourist amenities, and effective promotion campaigns have played a key role in this success. The state govt's vision is to firmly position Kapilvastu on the global religious tourism map through comprehensive development plans," said the minister. He added that the upcoming projects are not just about attracting global tourists; they are equally focused on bringing tangible benefits to the local population. "With rising footfall and upgraded amenities, local businesses including homestays, shops, eateries, and transport services are expected to flourish. Youth will gain opportunities through skill development programmes such as foreign language and guide training, while artisans and vendors will find a wider market for their crafts. These improvements are set to generate local employment, stimulate entrepreneurship, and boost the rural economy, turning cultural heritage into a source of livelihood and pride for the common citizen," said principal secretary, tourism, culture Mukesh Kumar Meshram.
