Brahmos from India, warships from Japan, Phillipines joins hands with this country to challenge China, the country is..., not US, UK
In the recent times, South China Sea has become an area of contentions. Philippines, which is facing China's aggression, is now openly changing its policy. Philippines, which has been facing China's maritime bullying for a long time, is not going to retaliate now. It has taken one step after another which has caused China to lose ground. First it bought Brahmos missile and now it is secretly strengthening its military relations with Taiwan. On the other hand, it is giving a new edge to its navy by taking help of weapons from Japan.
How is Taiwan helping Philippines?
To compete with China, Philippines has now decided to befriend Taiwan. Philippines has now come out openly regarding Taiwan. According to the Taipei Times report, this strategy of Philippines is the result of deep concern about instability in the region. Philippines Defense Minister Gilbert Teodoro said that Manila is now changing its strategy regarding Taiwan, although officially it still recognises Beijing under the One China policy.
Should China be worried?
According to the Taipei Times, the Philippines' defence cooperation with Taiwan has grown far beyond the level publicly expressed. Under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s new policy, the old ban on military and academic ties with Taiwan has been loosened. Earlier this year, academics from Philippine defence institutions participated in strategic discussions with Taiwan's top generals. In addition, the Philippines and Taiwanese coast guards also conducted joint patrols. Recently, Taiwan sent its observers to a trilateral military exercise involving the US, Japan and the Philippines. Analysts believe this was a response to China's maritime aggression.
Philippines made another move
For the first time since World War II, Japanwill provide six destroyers. Japan is preparing to give its 'Abukuma class' warship to the Philippines. Along with the 20 mm close-in weapon system, it is equipped with 76 mm cannons. Anti-submarine missiles and sonar are installed in it. The most important thing is their stealth design so that China's radar cannot detect them. This deal is not limited to just 'sending ships'. Japan will upgrade these warships according to the needs of the Philippines, provide training and also coordinate communication and radar systems.

Taiwan reports Chinese military incursion near its territory
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) has said that four Chinese military aircraft and 10 naval vessels were tracked operating around the island until 6 a.m. (local time) on Sunday. According to Taiwan's MND, four People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's southwestern Air Defence Identification Zone (ADIZ). In response to China's military action, Taiwan's armed forces monitored the situation and deployed aircraft, naval vessels, and coastal-based systems. "4 sorties of PLA aircraft and 10 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 4 out of 4 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's southwestern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly," Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence posted on X. This latest incursion follows a recent pattern of Chinese military activity around Taiwan. Earlier on Saturday, Taiwan's MND reported that 17 Chinese military aircraft and seven naval vessels were detected near its territory by 6 a.m. (local time) on Saturday. Taiwan's armed forces monitored the situation and responded to Chinese military activity. In a statement shared on Saturday on X, the MND said: "17 sorties of PLA aircraft and 7 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. (UTC+8) today. 8 out of 17 sorties crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's southwestern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly." The MND also reported Chinese military activity near Taiwan's territory on Friday. In a statement, the ministry said that 26 Chinese military aircraft, seven naval vessels, and one official ship were detected operating until 6 a.m. (local time) on Friday. Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), governed independently since 1949, continues to face threats from China, which claims the self-ruled island as part of its territory under the "One China" principle and insists on its reunification with Beijing. Despite China's efforts, Taiwan, backed by strong public support, continues to assert its sovereignty. Taiwanese armed forces have remained on high alert, tracking the incursions and responding to them as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard the island's sovereignty and maintain regional stability.

Japan says $550 billion package in trade deal could finance Taiwanese chipmaker in US
By Makiko Yamazaki TOKYO: Japan's $550 billion investment package agreed in this week's U.S. tariff deal could help finance a Taiwanese firm building semiconductor plants in the U.S., Japan's top trade negotiator Ryosei Akazawa said on Saturday. Japan agreed to the sweeping U.S.-bound investment initiative, which includes equity, loans and guarantees, in exchange for lower tariffs on its exports to the U.S. However, the structure of the scheme remains unclear. "Japan, the United States, and like-minded countries are working together to build supply chains in sectors critical to economic security ," Akazawa told public broadcaster NHK. To that end, he said projects eligible for financing under the package are not limited to U.S. or Japanese firms. "For example, if a Taiwanese chipmaker builds a plant in the U.S. and uses Japanese components or tailors its products to meet Japanese needs, that's fine too," he said, without specifying companies. The U.S. is significantly reliant on Taiwan's TSMC for advanced chip manufacturing, raising economic security concerns due to geographic proximity to China. TSMC announced plans for a $100 billion U.S. investment with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House in March, on top of $65 billion pledged for three plants in the state of Arizona, one of which is up and running. Japan will use state-owned Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) for the investments. A recent law revision has enabled JBIC to finance foreign companies deemed critical to Japan's supply chains. Akazawa told NHK that equity investment would account for just about 1-2% of the $550 billion, suggesting that the bulk will come in the form of loans and guarantees. When asked about the White House statement that the U.S. would retain 90% of the profits from the package, he clarified that the figure refers only to returns on equity investment, which would represent a small fraction of the total. While Japan initially hoped to secure half of the returns, a loss from the concession on the profit-sharing would be marginal compared to the roughly 10 trillion yen ($67.72 billion) in tariff costs that could be avoided under the deal, he said. He added that Japan aims to deploy the $550 billion investments during Trump's current term.

India's deadliest new ‘Brahmastra' can destroy its enemy in a blink, has 10,000 kmph speed, 1500 km range, even S-400 and THAAD will fail, it is..
The circumstances in India and globally are developing rapidly. After conflicts like Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas, armed hostilities have also resumed between Thailand and Cambodia. Under such scenarios, concerns over foreign attacks are emerging in both larger and smaller countries. So, as a consequence, every country is strengthening its defense. Countries are aggressively spending on modern weaponry for defense purposes. Overall, defense spending is going to substantially rise. India's security situation is relatively sensitive when compared with other countries. On one hand, India shares borders with Pakistan, and on the other hand, with China. Pakistan is known throughout the world for promoting terrorism and using it as a state policy, and it shares borders with Indian states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. History is an eyewitness to Pakistan's attempts to cross the borders and attack India through such states of India through these regions, as seen in the wars of 1965, 1971, and the Kargil conflict of 1999. Conversely, China is well known throughout the whole world for its expansionist policies. Countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan have faced aggressions from China. In addition, Beijing also keeps a close eye on India, frequently asserting its claims over regions like Arunachal Pradesh and Leh-Ladakh. The 1962 war remains the biggest piece of evidence for China's hostility towards India. On April 22, 2025, a gruesome, inhuman terror attack shocked the country when Pakistan-backed militants claimed the lives of 25 Indians and one Nepali national in Jammu and Kashmir. In retaliation, India launched 'Operation Sindoor' in May, targeting terrorist camps deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The IAF demonstrated the lethal capabilities of the BrahMos cruise missile for the first time in a full-scale action during this high-impact operation. The precision and explosion profoundly got not only Pakistan's attention but also military observers across the globe. After the success of BrahMos in Operation Sindoor, India is now moving ahead with the BrahMos-2K. According to the media reports, India has begun work on its upgraded version, BrahMos-2 K, which is reportedly being developed with Russia. It will be faster, deadlier, and harder to intercept, making it perhaps the most advanced weapon in India's arsenal. It is reported that BrahMos-2K will be developed as India's counterpart to Russia's 3M22 Zircon missile, which flies hypersonically (Mach 9) and has a complicated flight path that is difficult to defend against. The upgraded BrahMos will greatly amplify India's deterrent capability, given the continuing threats posed by Pakistan and aggressive actions by China along the borders. The upgraded missile is not only a technological upgrade but also a significant message to adversaries that India will protect itself — and it will be in no uncertain terms. India is set to make a huge jump in the field of missile technology. The presently deployed version of BrahMos cruise missile, developed by India and Russia, works on supersonic technology (flying at 2.8/3 Mach). But now both countries are developing a hypersonic version of BrahMos-2K or BrahMos-MKII- next-generation cruise missile. With this missile, India's strike capability will reach unprecedented levels. According to a report by the India Defence Research Wing, the BrahMos-2K project, a joint venture between India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Russia's NPO Mashinostroyeniya, aims to deliver a missile capable of speeds between Mach 7 and Mach 8, with a range of up to 1,500 km. The new BrahMos-2K hypersonic missiles will likely have a striking range of 1,500 kilometers, an excellent jump from the previous BrahMos missiles. For example, the present BrahMos cruise missiles have ranges of 290 to 450 kilometers. A few extended range versions approach 800 kilometers. Thus, the BrahMos-2K comes with at least double to triple the range, and will fly almost three times faster than existing BrahMos missile technology. The combination of range and hypersonic speed would make it almost impossible for enemy air defense capabilities to detect or intercept large formations of BrahMos-2K within their striking range, providing India with tremendous strategic advantages. According to the reports, Russian President Vladimir Putin is anticipated to visit India later this year. Reports suggest that one of the most significant aspects of the visit might be the formalizing of an agreement to co-develop the BrahMos-2K hypersonic cruise missile.
