Anti-Ageing Guru Bryan Johnson Warns Against Smoking Weed: "It Doesn't Vibe With Longevity"
Mr Johnson clarified that he's not opposed to weed but believes it can harm heart health and shorten lifespan. "This is not an anti-weed rant. This is a pro-blood flow PSA. Just like tobacco, cannabis may come at the cost of a healthy heart. So, whether it's in a pipe or a brownie, weed does not vibe with your longevity," he said in the viral video.

His post sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing about the potential risks and others prioritising enjoying life over longevity concerns. One user wrote, "Just go a month or two without it. You'll realise how badly you should've quit a long time back. I sleep better now, breathe better, interact socially better, and so much more."
Another was not convinced and wrote, "Hey Bryan, what's it called when a bunch of health influencers online try to make correlational factors seem like the truth- that's manipulation. There's no causation in these studies- simply manipulating the public. Disappointing."
A third said, "Do things that vibe with your longevity and heart health."
Notably, Mr Johnson has gained attention for his lavish spending on experimental "de-ageing" treatments, aiming to reverse his biological clock. The 47-year-old has garnered attention for his radical experiments, including receiving blood transfusions from his teenage son. He spends $2 million a year on medical diagnostics and treatments combined with a meticulously crafted regimen of eating, sleeping, and exercising to see if he can slow, and perhaps even reverse, the ageing process.

Eloor most polluted in state: Report
Kochi: Eloor in Ernakulam district is the most polluted place in the state, according to Centre for Research on Clean Air and Energy mid-year (Jan to June 2025) assessment report on air quality in India. None of Kerala's cities appear in the cleanest city list. Eloor, with the concentration of particulate matter 2.5 (PM 2.5) at 37 micrograms per cubic metre (mg/m3), ranked 21 out of a total of 29 most polluted places in India. Although, by Indian standards, PM 2.5 level is satisfactory, it is much above the World Health Organization (WHO) standards. This, according to health experts, is causing problems to Eloor residents who are at an increased risk of respiratory problems. WHO states that a good level is below 10mg/m3 for annual average and below 25mg/m3 for 24 hours. However, according to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), a good level of PM 2.5 is 0-60mg/m3 for 24 hours. Air pollution in Eloor municipality is mainly due to several industries in the 435-acre Eloor-Edayar industrial area on the banks of Periyar river, with the most affected being residents of Illanjikkal ward, Eloor East, Mepirikunnu and Pathalam divisions. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "There are four major companies, including three public sector companies, functioning along the 8km stretch within the municipality limits. However, we suspect that pollution is more from industries on the other side of Periyar river in Kadungallur. Smoke emanates from a chicken bone processing unit in the estate, making life miserable for thousands of people," said Eloor municipal chairman A D Sujil. Due to poor air quality, residents face breathing issues, kidney ailments and other ailments, said K A Mahin, councillor of Mepirikunnu. "A large number of red category industries function here without meeting necessary standards and beyond capacity, causing pollution. The floor of our houses are frequently layered with black dust particles. Authorities must conduct a survey on respiratory problems in the area, thus revealing the true picture," he said. Pulmonologists echo the concerns. "Eloor and Irumpanam are hotspots of air pollution in Kerala. People with respiratory illnesses, cardiac issues, allergies and the elderly will face difficulties in places with poor air quality," said pulmonologist Dr Paramez A R. According to atmospheric scientists, the only way to reduce pollution is to raise green cover. "Air pollution is caused by industries and vehicles emitting pollutants like PM 2.5. It is a localised factor. In Eloor, it is industries, whereas in cities, it is the increasing number of vehicles. Contents in the particulate matter depend on the source of pollution. To reduce emission of air pollutants, industrial production and the number of vehicles will have to be reduced, which will be difficult," said Dr K Satheesan, professor in Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Cusat.

Meta alert helps cops rescue youth after Insta suicide post
Lucknow: In a swift and dramatic rescue, Uttar Pradesh Police saved a 20-year-old Agra youth within minutes of receiving a suicide alert from Meta. The young man had posted a distressing message on Instagram, hinting at a suicide attempt through drug overdose, prompting the police to spring into action. At 6:32 am, Meta's global monitoring system flagged a disturbing Instagram post from the youth in Shahganj police station limits, where he uploaded a message with the caption "Goodbye, life", showing him consuming a large quantity of pills. Meta immediately sent an alert email to the Uttar Pradesh Police Social Media Centre at the Police Headquarters, Lucknow. Taking immediate cognisance, DGP Rajeev Krishna issued urgent instructions to trace and rescue the individual. Based on the mobile number and geolocation details provided by Meta, the Social Media Centre coordinated with the cops, alerting the Shahganj police station. Within 10 minutes, a sub-inspector of Shahganj police station reached the youth's residence. After speaking to the family, the officer rushed to the youth's room, where he was found shouting in distress. With the help of family members, the officer administered basic first aid and took him to a nearby doctor. After medical treatment, his condition stabilised, and he was safely brought back home. During counselling, the youth revealed that he is the only son among five sisters and works as a daily wage labourer like his father. He said frequent domestic disputes, especially with his father, pushed him into severe mental distress and depression, prompting the suicide attempt. The youth's family expressed deep gratitude to UP Police for their swift and humane action. Saving lives since 2022 Under the collaborative system in place between Meta and Uttar Pradesh Police since 2022, any suicide-related post made on Facebook or Instagram triggers an email and call alert to UP Police. From Jan 1, 2023, to July 10, 2025, this initiative helped save the lives of 1,132 individuals, according to official police data.
