Anker issues another recall for multiple power banks that pose fire safety risk
Anker has issued its second recall this month for several power bank models sold around the world, as MacRumors has reported. If you'll recall, its previous recall that launched earlier this month focused on the Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank model A1263, which were sold between June 1, 2016 and December 31st, 2022 in the United States. The company found that the lithium-ion battery it used for the model has a risk of overheating that could then lead to the power bank melting, producing smoke and, ultimately, catching fire. Now, Anker has issued a global recall for multiple products sold in several markets around the world. Those products are the Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) Model A1257, Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) Model A1647, Anker MagGo Power Bank (10,000mAh, 7.5W) Model A1652, Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) Model A1681 and Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable) Model A1689. The company said that it implemented a series of enhanced quality assurance protocols earlier this year, all of which were designed to detect manufacturing issues. It found that those particular models use lithium-ion battery cells from a single vendor, which are at risk of overheating and causing fire. The company said that the chances of malfunction are minimal, but it launched the recall out of an abundance of caution anyway and is advising customers to stop using affected models. You can check if your device is affected on the recall's official page where you can enter its serial number. A proof of purchase will be required to be qualified for the program, but if you can provide the requirements needed, you can choose between a replacement or a gift card that you can use on Anker's website. If you buy something through a link in this article, we may earn commission.

Deal: The Anker 747 150W could be the only charger you need
I like to streamline my charging and would rather not have a bunch of chargers lying around. This is why I am a huge fan of multi-port chargers, and it's hard to beat this Anker 747 150W GaNPrime Charger deal right now. It is $50 off and could be the only charger you need. Buy the Anker 747 150W GaNPrime Charger for $59.99 ($50 off) This offer is available from Amazon. It is labeled as a 'limited time deal.' The discount is automatic, so all you need to do is add the item to your cart and check out. Anker 747 150W GaNPrime Charger Anker 747 150W GaNPrime Charger See price at Amazon Save $50.00 Limited Time Deal! The Anker 747 150W GaNPrime Charger looks like a real serious accessory, and it is. This is a powerful charger with plenty of ports. It has a max 150W output, and all three USB-C ports can reach as much as 100W each. Additionally, the USB-A connection can reach 22.5W speeds. Wattage aside, it's also really nice that it comes with four ports. This means you can charge four items at once! And it can handle almost all modern mobile devices. For example, I would use the USB-C ports to charge my laptop, tablet, and smartphone. The USB-A connection could be saved for smaller accessories, like my smartwatch. You'd be hard-pressed to find any 150W charger at this price, especially one coming from a renowned brand like Anker. All that said, it is an older charger, which is likely why it's discounted so much. It also lacks PPS support, which some modern devices require to reach max speeds. However, it will still work great. It will be nice to be able to charge all your main devices at once, not to mention that you won't have to deal with a bunch of bricks when on the go. Go catch this deal while you can! Extra deal: If you want something more modern If you want to save a bit more, and don't need all the power the product above offers, the Anker Prime Charger (100W, 3 Ports, GaN) is more modern, and it is still very capable. This one has a maximum output of 100W, and both USB-C ports can reach these speeds when charging a single device. Wattage is shared if you plug in more devices simultaneously. It also has a 22.5W USB-A connection. It looks better and is definitely smaller. That said, if you don't mind a slightly bigger brick and a simpler look, we still think the Anker 747 150W GaNPrime Charger is a better option. It's only $10 more right now, has an extra port, and a much higher output. If you're not convinced by these, we also have a list of the best wall chargers. You're bound to find something you like there!

How we choose the best July 4th deals Our team of expert shoppers and deal hunters has spent years sorting through major sales and deals, helping readers understand which are legitimately good. That includes Black Friday, Prime Day, Memorial Day and countless other shopping events. We've become good at weeding out scams and superficial deals, so you only get the best available. We look for real discounts, quality reviews and remaining sale time when choosing a deal to include. We consider price history to ensure prices aren't inflated to make a discount seem more substantial. We choose products that we have tested or have top reviews because if an item breaks the first time you use it, the discount isn't worth it. Remaining sale time is a huge part of our vetting process. If a deal seems like it will only be around for a short while or will only be available for the remaining stock, we'll let you know upfront, so you don't come back to the deal later only to be disappointed.
