Ottoman Empire by Train with Alice Roberts RTÉ2, 7.45pm
Originally broadcast on Channel 4 last September, this fascinating five-part series is receiving a welcome reshowing. Roberts travels across Turkey and beyond to visit sites that were important to the Ottoman Empire, beginning her journey in Adana, near the Syrian border.
An evening dedicated to the much-missed singer begins with archive performances in Whitney at the BBC. That's followed by the biopic Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody (9pm), and concludes with a chance to see her on stage in Whitney Houston: Live in South Africa 1994 (11.15pm).

Packed with Millennial-era energy and copious levels of cringe, the series captures massive crowds of teens swept up in fervent religious concerts, purity pledges, and missionary zeal — when all most of them needed was a decent regular rave to attend. Beneath the polished youth group image, it reveals rigid spiritual training, theatrical indoctrination, and emotional manipulation orchestrated by Luce.

Mrs Brown's Boys BBC One, 9.30pm & RTÉ One, 9.35pm It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but there's no denying the popularity of Agnes Brown. What Anjelica Huston — the first person to play her on screen, in the 1999 movie Agnes Browne (the extra 'e' was later dropped) — thinks about her alter ego now remains unknown, but for Brendan O'Carroll, she has been a godsend, transforming him into a household name. The sitcom is, of course, a family affair, not just because it features the Brown clan, but also due to the fact that various O'Carroll relatives appear in it. They're all set to appear again as the show's fifth mini-season begins. Despite previous runs (not to mention the 2014 big-screen spin-off) being lambasted by critics, the programme is a huge hit both here and in Britain. In fact, Jon Petrie, the BBC's head of comedy, is thrilled it's returning: 'Brendan has created an iconic comedy character in Agnes Brown. Mrs Brown's Boys is a Bafta-winning comedy show and one of the BBC's most-watched comedies ever... I'm proud to have it in the BBC comedy stable.' Over the next few weeks we'll see Foley's bar prep for its annual talent show, and Agnes help Winnie pass her driving test. They are challenged to find out the answer to one simple question; where in the world are they? On each episode, the player who places their 'X' in a location that is the furthest from where they are actually located gets eliminated. In the most recent episode on BBC One, the contestants were split into two groups as they travelled up a mountain via corresponding cable cars . However, the transportation 'broke down' midway through the route, leaving the players confused. The teams would then compete in a physical challenge to try and win the game, as the winning team will carry on up to the top of the mountain where a clue would be waiting. Meaning, one player from each team would have to strap themselves into a harness. Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau. Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December. Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: 'I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out - and excited for everything to come.' Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019. Owen recalled: 'I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work. "While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in. 'The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if I signed up?' 'A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.' Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson. Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna's vegan lifestyle, the show's first same sex pairing are still going strong. They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod. Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: "We're not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship." However at the other end, Lacey was present as she spoke to a mystery pal on the phone. She puffed on a cigarette as she held her mobile device next to her ear as Nathan and Abi tentatively chatted to pals. In a picture sent to The Sun, only one person was seen to be standing between the former cast members as they attempted to separate. An additional source told us: "Lacey was on the phone in the smoking area, and it looked as though Nathan and Abi were actively keeping their distance from her. It was daggers across the room the whole night. An eyewitness source The Sun "She previously made her way past him on the red carpet in what looked like an extremely uncomfortable situation for everyone involved. "Nathan was being interviewed as she scooched past him and made a little quip as a distraction from the situation. The eyewitness added: "Things looked even worse when they were just steps from each other in the smoking area. "It was just so awkward for all of them throughout the evening and it was clear from all their actions that there is still bad blood there."
