The NBA 2K26 Summer League is starting up at Las Vegas, and the competition is greater than ever. Preseason action, which was previously regarded as a mere formality, now is a tournament in which the victors will receive a practical prize.
Championship rings are presented to a winning team in 2022, and it makes every game even more important and significant. Considering that only four teams pass on to the semifinals, every point counts.
Only four teams advance to the semifinals after the first round
The NBA 2K26 Summer League takes place from July 10 to 20 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. It's more than just a development event; it has a structured format. Every team is set to play a minimum of five games, with the first four games determining which four teams make it to the semifinals.
The final two teams will then compete for the championship title and a ring.
The competition is fierce—even exhibition games have to follow strict tiebreakers. Semifinal positions are decided by head-to-head records and point differentials; if teams are still tied, seeding might even be determined by a random draw. With just one game capable of making a huge difference, every possession is crucial in this format.

Starting in 2022, the champions of the Summer League have been awarded real championship rings—not just plastic trinkets, but luxurious jewelry similar to NBA Finals rings. The Portland Trail Blazers were the first to get theirs after winning in Las Vegas in 2022, where they beat the New York Knicks 85–77, and Trendon Watford took home the MVP title.
The Cleveland Cavaliers got theirs in 2023, followed by the Miami Heat in 2024, who pulled off an incredible 120–118 overtime victory against the Memphis Grizzlies—and their rings marked the 20th anniversary of the event.

Players such as Miami's Josh Christopher, who snagged the MVP title in the 2024 Championship Game, understand that every basket, block, and rebound could matter more than just personal stats—it could lead to gold on their fingers.

Cal Raleigh (Image Source: calraleigh_/Instagram) Cal Raleigh was on fire Tuesday in the 2025 MLB Home Run Derby at Truist Park in Atlanta, becoming the first catcher in history ever, and then the first switch-hitter to take the top prize. Famed for his monster power and regular contribution of big flies, Raleigh not only won the honour but a one-of-a-kind prize, a custom WWE Championship belt awarded by the former Undisputed WWE Champion himself, Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes surprises the crowd with a WWE moment Things got electric when "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes showed up after Raleigh's win. And in his iconic WWE gear, Rhodes walked out onto the field to give Raleigh a custom WWE Championship belt designed with MLB and Home Run Derby logos. It was an electrifying moment that combined the worlds of baseball and pro wrestling, getting the fans in the stadium and at home buzzing. The crossover celebration emphasized MLB's plans to combine sports and entertainment over All-Star Weekend. Raleigh, clearly choked up and thrilled, raised the belt high above his head as the cheers rang out around the ballpark. As if the night weren't already legendary, the novelty of the presentation (easily a highlight of the All-Star festivities instantly) also made the night memorable. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Warren Buffett Says These 5 Books Are a Must-Read for 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Cal Raleigh's historic path to the championship Cal Raleigh saw the Derby run play out with drama, power, and precision. With 38 home runs, the Mariners slugger entered the event with the most homers in MLB at the All-Star break and proved the reason why he is among the most feared hitters in the game today. Raleigh narrowly edged past Brent Rooker in round one, deadlocked in the home run tiebreaker. The longest homer of the round got Raleigh ahead, but it was narrowly, just 0.08 feet farther than Rooker's best shot. He eased through the semifinals, taking out Oneil Cruz with 19 homers, then finished off the night with 18 homers in the finals to outslug 22-year-old Tampa Bay upstart Junior Caminero, who ended with 15. By hitting an impressive total of 54 home runs in all rounds combined, Raleigh not only took home the $1 million prize but also secured a spot in Derby history. The real family atmosphere continued, with Raleigh's father pitching to him and his brother caging in the earlier rounds — a heart-warming backdrop to all the power of the night. IND vs ENG: Mohammed Siraj finally breaks silence following gut-wrenching loss at Lord's, says 'not for ... '

Mohammed Siraj (Getty Images) NEW DELHI: India pacer Mohammed Siraj broke his silence following the gut-wrenching loss at Lord's in the third Test, sharing an emotional post on social media. While he impressed with the ball—taking four wickets across both innings—it was his determined effort with the bat that stood out during India's dramatic final stand. Siraj partnered with Ravindra Jadeja in a gritty 10th-wicket effort that stretched beyond the Tea break on Day 5, offering India a glimmer of hope in their 193-run chase. The fast bowler faced 30 deliveries and scored 4 runs in a valiant 23-run stand with Jadeja, whose unbeaten 61 nearly took India home. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! The resistance ended in heartbreaking fashion when a Shoaib Bashir delivery ricocheted off Siraj's bat and trickled back onto the stumps, ending India's innings 22 runs short at 170 and bringing England a dramatic victory. The following day, Siraj shared a poignant Instagram post with five images—two showing the immediate aftermath of his dismissal, his disappointment evident as the weight of the loss settled in. His caption read: 'Some matches stay with you, not for the outcome, but for what they teach.' The five-day clash was a gripping display of Test cricket. After England resumed at 58/4, their pace attack tightened the screws and reduced India to eight wickets down before lunch. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pernas e tornozelos inchados? Lord's museum tour: Cricket's greatest artifacts and the stories behind them Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer were England's standout bowlers with three wickets each, while Brydon Carse picked up two. Chris Woakes and Shoaib Bashir, who bowled despite a finger injury, took one apiece. England's perseverance proved decisive on a day that coincided with the six-year anniversary of their 2019 ODI World Cup triumph at Lord's. Both teams had earlier posted identical first-innings scores of 387, before England managed 192 in their second innings. In the high-pressure final session, Jadeja and Siraj rotated the strike and defended doggedly, inching closer to the target. But Bashir's clever spin undid Siraj—his bat deflected the ball onto the stumps, bringing England a series lead of 2-1 and leaving India to reflect on what could have been.
