What to expect from the Oasis reunion tour

Yahooa day ago

Oasis fans have been eagerly awaiting 4 July, 2025 since the band's unexpected reunion tour was announced last summer - the date that Noel and Liam Gallagher will finally share a stage again for the start of their 17 UK shows.
The reunited band are also set to head out across the world to shows in locations including the US and Australia.
As the opening show date approaches, we take a look at everything we know so far about who'll be in the band, what the set list is likely to be, and who's supporting them.
Of course, the tour sees brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher bury the hatchet as they reunite on stage together as Oasis for the first time since 2009.
The Gallaghers will be joined by original Oasis band member Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, as well as Gem Archer and Andy Bell who both joined the band in 1999 and were part of the line-up until the 2009 split. For the 2025 tour, they'll also be joined by two new band members - Christian Madden, and Joey Waronker who has previously served as drummer for R.E.M. and Beck.
Here's the band line-up you can expect to see on the 2025 tour:
Liam Gallagher - vocals, tambourine
Noel Gallagher - vocals, lead guitar
Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs - guitar
Andy Bell - bass
Christian Madden - keyboards
Joey Waronker - drums
Reports earlier this year suggested that formerly estranged brothers Liam and Noel had not been rehearsing together, with their publicist commenting that they wanted to avoid being seen together before stepping out on stage on 4 July.
However, they may have privately been rehearsing with the full line-up, as U2 star Bono, a friend of Noel's, told The Mirror: "I'm still very close with Noel. And he got a message to me, and he says that he's kind of shocked by how great the band is. So I think we're going to have a good summer."
As yet, the set list has not been announced but is expected to include plenty of classics from the height of their fame. Fans shouldn't expect any new music as the band's co-manager Alec McKinlay told Music Week: "This is very much the last time around, as Noel's made clear in the press. It's a chance for fans who haven't seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to. But no, there's no plan for any new music."
We don't yet know the Oasis Live '25 set list, but this was what Oasis played at their last show, V Festival 2009:
Intro tape: F**kin' In The Bushes
Rock 'n' Roll Star
Lyla
The Shock Of The Lightning
Cigarettes & Alcohol
Roll With It
Waiting For The Rapture
The Masterplan
Songbird
Slide Away
Morning Glory
My Big Mouth
Half The World Away
I'm Outta Time
Wonderwall
Supersonic
Live Forever
Encore:
Don't Look Back in Anger (acoustic)
Champagne Supernova
I Am The Walrus
If you're headed to one of the 17 UK tour dates, you can look forward to seeing some other well-known faces ahead of Oasis appearing on stage.
All of the UK shows are set to be supported by Richard Ashcroft and Cast, as announced in 2024.
Oasis are also jetting off for a North American leg, which will be supported by Cage the Elephant, with Ball Park Music set to open for them in Australia.
No support acts have yet been announced for shows in South Korea, Japan, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.
Yes, there's still a chance to get tickets to see Oasis this summer despite their UK shows selling out quickly last year.
A statement released on the band's official social media accounts on 25 June read: "As the shows are getting closer, Oasis promoters may be able to release a very limited number of additional tickets for sale once final sight lines are checked and the production is fine-tuned. These final production releases will happen over the coming days.

Charli xcx Burns ‘Brat' Down During Glastonbury Set While Gracie Abrams Stars as ‘Apple' Girl

Charli xcx set 'Brat' on fire during her Glastonbury set on Saturday night — literally. Headlining the Other Stage, the avant-garde pop star began her set business as usual with the Shygirl remix of '365' followed by '360.' But then, before launching into 'Von Dutch,' the neon green 'Brat' curtain that was serving as a backdrop started burning. Charli reveled in the destruction as the stage lights turned red, seemingly signaling a sinister turn. When it came time for 'Apple,' fellow Glastonbury artist Gracie Abrams was selected to perform the TikTok-famous dance as the crowd went crazy. 'I'm known to have the heart of a stone but this is very fucking emotional right now,' Charli said of headlining the Other Stage (Neil Young was top billing at the Pyramid). 'I feel very grateful. Thank you so much, you're cool as fuck. But not as cool as me, bitch.' 'Party 4 U' and 'Vroom Vroom' proved to be later highlights of the set, finally getting the hospitality side of the crowd dancing (Harry Styles and Eddie Redmayne were spotted in the exclusive section). Charli danced in the (fake) rain once again for 'Track 10,' wowing the crowd, and ended the set with 'I Love It,' shockingly not bringing out any surprise guests (though her 'Girl, So Confusing' collaborator Lorde played a secret set on Friday). As the crowd exited, Charli's outro message displayed on the screens made clear that the burning of the 'Brat' banner was only for show. 'We had to do it and it looked cool,' the message said. 'I think you all have proven to me that 'Brat' is forever.' Charli has been making the festival rounds this summer, most recently performing at Primavera Sound in Spain, where Chappell Roan was the 'Apple Girl,' and curating her own lineup at London's Lido Festival, where she brought out 'Rewind' collaborator Bladee. Back in April at Coachella, she brought out a trio of surprise guests, including Billie Eilish for 'Guess,' Lorde for 'Girl, So Confusing' and Troye Sivan for 'Talk Talk.' At Lido, she declared that 'Brat' summer would last forever, displaying a message at the end of her set that read: ''Brat' summer is over. But actually… I don't think it is. So tell me the truth: Will you hate me if I stick around? Because honestly, I don't know who I am if it's over. And so… I've decided I want this to last forever. It wasn't just a summer thing… it's a forever thing. Please don't let it be over.' Charli's fiancé and collaborator, George Daniel, also headlined the Pyramid Stage on Friday night with his band The 1975. Rod Stewart says he backs Brexit leader Nigel Farage in wide-ranging political discussion

Rod Stewart got political this week, saying he supports Brexit leader Nigel Farage over current Prime Minister Keir Starmer. "It's hard for me because I'm extremely wealthy, and I deserve to be, so a lot of it doesn't really touch me," the "Maggie May" singer told The London Times in a piece published Friday. "But that doesn't mean I'm out of touch. For instance, I've read about Starmer cutting off the fishing in Scotland and giving it back to the EU. That hasn't made him popular. We're fed up with the Tories. We've got to give Farage a chance. He's coming across well." Farage founded the Brexit Party in 2019, which eventually turned into the populist Reform UK, which he leads. His party would be on track to get the most seats in parliament if a general election were held this year, according to new polling, Sky News reported this week. The next general election is scheduled for 2029. Earlier this year, Reform UK had a series of electoral wins after it secured parliamentary, mayoral and several local election seats in what Farage said is proof that Reform UK is "now the opposition party to this Labour government." "What options have we got?" Stewart replied when a reporter expressed surprise at his support for Farage. "I know some of his family. I know his brother, and I quite like him. "Starmer's all about getting us out of Brexit, and I don't know how he's going to do that. Still, the country will survive. It could be worse. We could be in the Gaza Strip." The 80-year-old had harsher words for American conservatives, especially when it comes to Ukraine. "Did you see the way [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy was treated for not wearing a tie when he went to the White House? I could have jumped on [President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance]," the singer, who temporarily took in a displaced family from Ukraine in 2022, said. "And it backfired because no one liked it. You've got the other d-------, the one with the motor car company, coming in wearing a baseball cap. … Mate, it's depressing." He was referring to Elon Musk, who has since left the administration. Stewart also had thoughts on the Israel-Hamas war. "It's depressing what's going on in the Gaza Strip," he said. "[Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu doesn't realize that this is what happened to his people under the Nazis, total annihilation. And Trump is going to turn the Gaza Strip into Miami?" The Brit also said he was "disappointed" Trump is moving "away from Europe, as America were our strongest allies." He said it also upset him that the U.S. is "signing a $47 billion arms deal with Israel. I think the British are still selling arms to the Israelis. How is it ever going to stop?"
