Mera Baap Chara Chor: Lalu, Tejashwi Targeted Over Fodder Scam Ahead Of Bihar Polls

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, responding to the controversy during an International Yoga Day event, doubled down on the criticism. 'Lalu Yadav has been declared a banned criminal by the Supreme Court. The fodder scam was committed by him. So, where is the second opinion on this? All courts have said he is a fodder thief,' he said.
In retaliation, the RJD has launched its own poster campaign, this time accusing the ruling NDA of nepotism.
Posters have appeared at several places depicting NDA leaders such as Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, State Minister Ashok Choudhary, and the late Ram Vilas Paswan alongside their sons-in-law.
The posters mockingly label the alliance as the 'National Damaad Commission' (National Sons-in-Law Commission), accusing it of nepotism.
The escalating poster war -- laced with sarcasm, personal jibes, and viral slogans -- reflects the high-stakes atmosphere ahead of the polls.

Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) national president and former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras on Thursday (July 3, 2025) claimed to have had positive talks with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, who was heading the INDIA bloc Coordination Committee constituted for the upcoming Assembly election. Mr. Paras said that seat-sharing would also be finalised soon, but did not disclose the number of seats his party was eager to contest. He pointed out that winning candidates should get the tickets. Addressing the media at the party office, Mr. Paras said, 'Tejashwi Yadav ji is leading the INDIA bloc in Bihar, and I had a talk with him. This week, we are again going to sit together to discuss the Assembly election. I am sure, whatever will happen, it will be good.' He answered in the affirmative when asked about claiming any seats in Vaishali district, which was a strong bastion for the undivided LJP earlier led by his elder brother and former Union Minister, the late Ram Vilas Paswan. 'Of course, we will surely stake a claim on the Assembly seat in Vaishali district. These things would be discussed when we sit for the formal talk over the seat distribution as part of the INDIA bloc. At present, there is a great need for change in leadership in Bihar, and we will give our winning candidates after the talk with the alliance partners. The winning candidates should get the ticket,' he said. Reacting to the number of seats his party was eager to get, the former Hajipur MP said, 'I have travelled across the State and I received a very good response. At present, we cannot reveal in front of media about the number of seats, but let me assure you that everything would be discussed at the right platform. Mr. Paras denied rumours that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad was not giving him time to meet. Since April 7, the INDIA bloc leaders have already held four meetings, with the last one being on June 12; RLJP was invited to none of those meetings. April 14, Mr. Paras had officially announced that he would not be a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and that he was attempting to join the INDIA bloc. On July 5, RLJP announced that it was going to organise a grand celebration on the birth anniversary of the party's founder Ram Vilas Paswan at the party office in Patna. NDA rallies behind EC amid roll revision row
Patna: Amid criticism from the opposition over the timing and duration of the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar, the ruling NDA has firmly backed the Election Commission (EC), describing the exercise as "routine and necessary". Following support from BJP and JD(U), LJP (RV) chief and Union minister Chirag Paswan on Thursday accused the opposition of deliberately undermining constitutional institutions. "After EVMs, they are trying to find an excuse in the name of the SIR as they see defeat staring in their face in the coming state assembly election," he said. HAM(S) founder and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi echoed the sentiment, claiming that bogus voter registrations had long benefited the opposition. "I know many seats where up to 20,000 bogus voters were registered before 2005. The opposition wants to continue with it to their advantage. The SIR will identify the names and strike them off from the list," he said. He alleged that the RJD was protesting because it had created bogus voters in every constituency.
