VinFast VF6 & VF7 pre-bookings commence on July 15, to begin India operations with 32 dealerships
Vinfast Auto India has announced it will officially begin accepting pre-bookings for the VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs from July 15, 2025. The Vietnamese automaker is preparing its arrival in the Indian market and has signed dealer partner agreements with 13 dealer groups. The electric vehicle manufacturer will commence operations in India with 32 dealerships across 27 cities nationwide, and will set up a 3S (sales, service & spares) network.

VinFast's initial dealerships will be located in major cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Cochin, Bhubaneshwar, Trivandrum, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Coimbatore, Surat, Calicut, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Shimla, Agra, Jhansi, Gwalior, Vapi, Baroda and Goa. The company says these cities have been selected based on the growing EV adoption and infrastructure readiness. The automaker plans to expand its network to 35 outlets by the end of the 2025 calendar year.

Speaking about the dealer infrastructure, Pham Sanh Chau, CEO, VinFast Asia, said, 'We are pleased to partner with India's most respected Dealer Partner Groups as part of our comprehensive strategy to establish a wide-reach, high-quality retail and service network. This partnership reinforces our focus on delivering an elevated EV experience backed by reliability, customer trust, and service excellence. As we prepare to bring our electric SUVs to Indian roads, we are focused on ensuring that customers across key cities have seamless access to VinFast's world-class products and support infrastructure."
VinFast is also partnering with local players to strengthen its after-sales service and customer support to ensure a more seamless ownership experience. The automaker has tied up with Global Assure for 24x7 roadside assistance, call centre support, and mobile service. It has also partnered with myTVS and RoadGrid for pan-India EV charging solutions, service network, and after-sales support. BatX Energies will work with VinFast for battery recycling and repurposing. The VinFast VF6 will be the mass-market offering from the brand taking on the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, as well as the upcoming Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara VinFast VF6 & VF7
The VinFast VF6 and VF7 will be locally assembled in India at the manufacturer's upcoming facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Both models will arrive as CKDs from Vietnam and will compete in the compact SUV and mid-size SUV space. The VinFast VF6 will be the more massy offering, taking on the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and the like. On the other hand, the VinFast VF7 will be the more premium offering, taking on the Mahindra XEV 9e, BYD Atto 3, and more.

Speaking at a book launch event in New Delhi, Sitharaman said, 'To maintain the growth is the topmost priority. Growth is the topmost, and therefore, it will have an overlap with how you create jobs…', as per news agency PTI. Her comments come at a time when India's economy is projected to grow at 6.5 per cent in FY25, the slowest pace in four years, down from 9.2 per cent growth in FY24. As per PTI, the Reserve Bank of India has trimmed its GDP growth forecast for the current financial year to 6.5 per cent, down from an earlier estimate of 6.7 per cent. The Economic Survey has pegged growth for FY26 in the range of 6.3 per cent to 6.8 per cent. The finance minister highlighted that capital investments by the government will continue to be central to economic momentum. 'Public investments have kept pace. It has been Prime Minister Narendra Modi's clear instruction that we have to have capital expenditure grow and grow significantly,' she said, adding that such investments are a 'primary driver of sustained economic growth'. Sitharaman also said that India must remain relevant globally and aim for a leadership role, especially by reshaping the voice of the Global South. At the same time, balancing domestic economic ambitions within the limits of fiscal responsibility is also a key area of focus, she noted. DRDO successfully tests UAV-launched precision-guided missile ULPGM-V3 in Andhra Pradesh

The trials mark a significant step in the Indian Army's roadmap for a 'Decade of Transformation' and are designed to ensure rapid absorption of emerging technologies to meet evolving battlefield requirements.
