Agent talks 'SERIOUS option' of Liverpool contract
Liverpool are dealing with an incredible number of incomings and outgoings this summer. We've already seen Jeremie Frimpong arrive and Caoimhin Kelleher leave and the season is barely over.

Every expectation is that Florian Wirtz will soon arrive, as will Milos Kerkez. There are strong links for both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez to depart.
We've got question marks over Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, Jarell Quansah, Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott...
And we imagine Liverpool will push to sign a striker soon. It's all quite amazing given this is the start of the summer.
But there's one other exit that will be difficult to handle. It's simply not the same as a player leaving.
Heitinga departs Liverpool
Johnny Heitinga is the new Ajax head coach, leaving Liverpool after just one season. It's not necessarily a shock that he took the job - Heitinga came up through the Ajax academy and a senior player there for nine years.

In fact, the Dutchman was even interim manager there for a spell in 2023. After the success Liverpool have had this season with Heitinga involved, he was a natural arrival at Ajax.
But it seems there was a real chance for him to secure a future with Liverpool. That's according to his agent, Rob Jansen.
"That he would leave Liverpool, we were already confirmed of that," says Jansen, per ESPN. "He was ready to take the next step. Later, by the way, we are very pleased that it worked out [with Ajax]."
"From West Ham United to Liverpool, turned a mega-year there, but he wants to stand on his own two feet [as a head coach]. That's what he wanted for that.

"Extending at Liverpool was a serious option, they really wanted that too, but John said: 'if there is somewhere I can go to'..."
It's always a blow when you lose a key member of the coaching staff. Liverpool, though, will have plenty of successors in mind as they look to plug the gap left by Heitinga.
No one can begrudge him wanting to be a head coach. It certainly feels like he's earned it.

David Lynch voices concern over Liverpool's centre-back depth
Liverpool's Centre-Back Concerns: David Lynch Raises a Red Flag Alarming Depth Issues in Defence Liverpool's centre-back situation has taken a worrying turn, as highlighted by respected journalist David Lynch speaking to Sports Mole. With Jarell Quansah sold to Bayer Leverkusen and Joe Gomez injured mid-preseason, head coach Arne Slot is left with just two senior central defenders: Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté. Lynch didn't hold back when sharing his thoughts, stating: 'I've spoken to people at Liverpool, and they have recently talked up the ability of Endo to play there occasionally, and Gravenberch too. That makes me slightly concerned, I have to say.' During the 4-2 defeat to AC Milan, both Ryan Gravenberch and Kostas Tsimikas were used as makeshift centre-backs—an experiment that did little to stem the tide of defensive instability. The performance laid bare a vulnerability that Slot cannot afford to carry into a competitive season. Learning from Past Mistakes The 2020/21 campaign looms large in the memory for all Reds fans. After injuries to Van Dijk, Gomez, and Joel Matip, Liverpool were forced into a series of improvisations. Fabinho and Jordan Henderson operated in defence, and while Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams earned praise for their eventual contributions, the damage had been done by then. Lynch pointed out: 'It is certainly an option, but I would hope not.'Clearly, Liverpool cannot rely on midfielders doubling up as defenders if they intend to mount a serious title challenge. Potential Move for Marc Guehi There are rumblings that Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi could be on the radar. While nothing concrete has emerged, this aligns with Liverpool's past behaviour—identifying value in proven Premier League talent and moving swiftly late in the window if required. However, the fact that the club appears to be entertaining the idea of Wataru Endo or Gravenberch filling in at centre-back on a semi-regular basis raises eyebrows. Endo, at 31, is far more effective shielding the back four than being part of it. Gravenberch, meanwhile, was instrumental as a midfielder, we don't want to be moving key players around. Transfer Window Demands Action With the window's final month approaching, Liverpool must act decisively. Whether that means pushing for Guehi or exploring another target, it's essential to avoid being caught short, especially in a season that promises to be fiercely competitive. David Lynch's warning is measured but valid—Slot mustn't repeat the mistakes of 2020/21. The tools are there, but only if Liverpool equip themselves properly. Our View – Anfield Index Analysis From a Liverpool fan's perspective, this report sets off a few alarm bells—not because of panic, but because we've seen this story before. The sale of Jarell Quansah might make sense financially, but losing a young, homegrown talent who showed maturity last season leaves a gap. With Joe Gomez injured again, Van Dijk and Konaté are the only two dependable options. Given Konaté's injury record and Van Dijk's advancing age, fans are rightly uneasy. Deploying Gravenberch and Endo at centre-back is not a sustainable solution. Gravenberch is a dynamic ball-carrier best used in midfield positions, and Endo, while disciplined, lacks the pace and physical dominance needed for central defence in the Premier League. If either starts at centre-back against the likes of Erling Haaland, we're in trouble. Supporters remember how the club sleepwalked into crisis in 2020/21, and though the recruitment team has learned since then, the current gap feels like déjà vu. The hope is that Guehi or a similar profile arrives soon—young, physical, Premier League-proven. It's not just about numbers; it's about profile, readiness, and resilience.

Arne Slot demand set to trigger TRIPLE forward signing
's demand for Liverpool's squad is set to trigger a triple signing. Give the man what he wants. Arne Slot won the Premier League with a squad that wasn't even his. Liverpool tried to give him one player he asked for - Martin Zubimendi - and failed to do so. LFC Kits Shop Now LFC x New Era Shop Now LFC Signed Merch Shop Now LFC x Titleist Shop Now The success was with a group of stars built for Jürgen Klopp's methods. The club are now doing all they can to give him his squad as they expect things to move up yet another level if they do. We've seen that in operation this summer, of course. Florian Wirtz arrived for a club-record fee, while Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez have arrived in record deals for a right-back and left-back respectively. Hugo Ekitike is the new centre-forward, with more signings almost certainly on the way. We can guarantee that if only because the squad has holes in it - and with even more holes to come. Which actually brings about one of Slot's demands at Liverpool. If the Reds really want to give him what he wants, a triple transfer is on the way. Arne Slot's demands Per The Times, Slot wants six forwards in his squad. It's part of a larger request to have two players for every role but six forwards was a necessity last season. It's why Federico Chiesa was signed and why he wasn't let go in January. Slot wants six and was given six. Right now, he also has six: Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Chiesa and Ekitike. Three of those forwards are expected to depart, however. Nunez and Chiesa have long been linked with exits. Diaz will join Bayern Munich in the coming days, too.

The Colombian winger leaves Anfield with a Premier League medal and his head held high. Díaz Dazzled Liverpool Díaz dazzled from the very beginning in a Liverpool shirt. The Colombian caught the attention with sensational performances on the international stage and in the Portuguese League with FC Porto. Then, at Anfield, he took his status to the next level. Not long after he arrived in England, Díaz helped Liverpool to a domestic cup double, and his performance in the League Cup final against Chelsea in particular helped put his name in lights. A 'Dennis Bergkamp style' spin in that game left Chelsea defender Reece James for dead and made the whole of Wembley stadium gasp in awe. Fans could clearly see the Latin flair everyone talked about. Yet, he scored 17 times and made 5 assists over the year. He was a key figure in Liverpool's title win. Beyond the trophies, goals, and assists, Luis Díaz became a fan favourite for his flair on the ball, tireless work rate, and commitment off it. Díaz's attitude was exceptional, and at times what he lacked in front of goal he more than made up for with his pressing and defensive work. Díaz was also menacing on the counter attack and incredibly unselfish. Luis Díaz's bond with the club deepened after his father was kidnapped in Colombia for 12 days in late 2023. The whole Liverpool community rallied around the player and his family, and since his father's release, he has regularly been seen wearing his son's shirt in the crowd alongside Liverpool fans. Liverpool fans also created a popular anthem just for Díaz with reference to his home town of Barrancas in northern Colombia.
