'Sunset Boulevard' and 'Young Frankenstein' on Actors Theatre of Indiana's new season
The shows will take place at the Studio Theatre at the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, where Actors Theatre of Indiana is a resident company.

In this comedy by Mel Brooks, Frederick Frankenstein ends up following in the family legacy when he travels to his grandfather's Transylvania castle and meets a cadre of people connected to the infamous experiments. Soon, Frederick creates his own Monster with an abnormal brain and must figure out how not to repeat his grandfather's mistakes.

Norma Desmond, a former star of the silent film era, lives in a dilapidated Hollywood mansion with a butler who writes fake fan letters to protect her from reality. Desmond soon becomes obsessed with Gillis, leading to dire consequences.

The 'Naked Gun' reboot, 'Bad Guys 2' are among new movies in Milwaukee theaters this week
This is the weekend we find out whether Liam Neeson has a very different set of skills – Leslie Nielsen-level goofiness. Here's what's new in Milwaukee-area theaters starting Aug. 1, as well as some of the new movies available on streaming and on demand this week. 'The Naked Gun' Short version: Liam Neeson plays the son of deadpan cop Frank Drebin, who must curb his own excesses (though not his punning) to solve a big case and save his department in this reboot of the franchise created in the 1980s by Shorewood's own Jerry Zucker, David Zucker and Jim Abrahams. (The 'Airplane!' guys did not have a hand in creating this version, however; it was written and directed by Ava Schaffer and produced by 'Family Guy's' Seth MacFarlane.) Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder and Danny Huston co-star. Opening Aug. 6: 'Sketch' Short version: After losing her mother, a young girl pours out her grief in drawings of monsters; when her sketchbook falls into a strange pond, the monsters come to life — and she and her family must figure out how to stop them. 'Sunset Boulevard' 75th anniversary screenings Billy Wilder's 'Sunset Boulevard' is still one of the best and sharpest-witted movies about Hollywood, but it rarely makes it back to the big screen. (That it's also one of the darkest movies about Hollywood might have something to do with it.) The 1950 classic — with Gloria Swanson, William Holden, Erich Von Stroheim and Milwaukee native Nancy Olson, all Oscar nominees — is showing at varying showtimes at Marcus Theatres' Hillside, Majestic, Menomonee Falls, Ridge and South Shore cinemas Aug. 3-4.
