Police warns to public to not approach prisoner who escaped Queensland prison
Michael Graeme Rennie, 43, is serving a six year, three month sentence for various offences including serious assault, motor vehicle offences, theft and burglary offences and drugs and weapons offences, at Low Custody Correctional Centre.
He was conducting his work duties on a correctional farm on Sunday when he escaped.
Rennie was last seen driving a Red Massey Tractor with an attached bucket.
The correctional facility offers programs in the fields of both farming and industry, to equip inmates with skills in preparation for their release.
The Queensland Police have warned the public to not approach him if seen and to immediately contact authorities.
Rennie is described having fair hair and complexion with blue eyes, with a light build standing at 174cm and weighing 56kg.
He also has a number of body markings, with the upper half as follows: a gun tattoo on his left shoulder, a dragon and skull on his right shoulder, with a screamer on his top shoulder blade, a clown with a gun on his left ribs, the letters 'SMP', a gargoyle, a demon holding a skull with horn and 3 names on his left arm, multiple dog bites and scars on his left arm, and on his right arm, a Celtic design, skull clown, full sleeve on forearm and knuckle dusters.
The lower half of his body includes a knee to ankle brick wall, panther, anarchy sign, skull, 4 headstones, clown face and 8 ball on his left leg, a Celtic sleeve on his outside right calf, a star on his right foot, and a joker with crown on the side of his right knee.

On Friday, the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission charged the controversial jockey with two charges of conduct prejudicial to the image of racing, after a video of the 50-year-old, recorded in Darwin last year, surfaced online in which he filmed himself racially abusing Indigenous people. The video shows Callow striking up a conversation with an Aboriginal man he passed on the street, offering him some pizza, before the seemingly friendly conversation turned offensive. 'What's doing, crackers?' Callow says, before asking, 'Have you showered? F*** you stink like f***.' You can watch the video in the player above The man says back, 'Nah, I haven't got a job (inaudible).' 'You stink like f***. Have some pizza. Take the pizza. Eat. Eat the pizza,' Callow continues. 'I don't want to eat,' the man responded. 'Have a shower then, do me a favour. Have a shower. You stink like f***,' Callow said. The chat continues. Man: '(inaudible) I sleep on the street.' Mr Callow has been informed of his right of appeal in respect of this decision. 'QRIC takes matters concerning conduct, welfare, and integrity seriously and will continue to ensure all participants are held to the highest professional and behavioural standards.' Callow – with five Group 1s to his name in Australia – had only just returned to riding after being banned for a physical altercation with fellow Group 1 winning jockey Kyle Wilson-Taylor in the jockeys' room during a race meeting in the Queensland winter carnival. After more than two months out of the saddle, Callow made a winning return to racing this week when riding Stormfront to victory in Darwin for Gold Coast trainer Peter Robl.

Irish national charged after allegedly using a fake passport to enter Australia and escaping detention with bedsheets
Federal police have charged an Irish man they allege entered the country on a false passport and later escaped detention using bedsheets tied together. Michael Connors, 26, appeared briefly in the Brisbane Arrest Court on Saturday morning, where no application for bail was made on his behalf. Mr Connors, who the Australian Federal Police (AFP) allege is in the country unlawfully, has been charged with two migration offences. It's alleged he entered Australia on a false passport and was then detained when he refused to undertake biometric tests. The AFP alleges he then escaped detention after tying bedsheets together and scaling down the side of a building. The AFP said it issued an arrest warrant for Mr Connors in April 2025. He was then apprehended by NSW Police Force officers in the outer Sydney suburb of Box Hill on Thursday. He appeared before Parramatta Magistrates Court on Friday, where police said a successful application was made to extradite the man back to Queensland. Mr Connors has been charged with two federal offences, including one count of using false documents and false or misleading information and one count of escaping from detention. The maximum penalty for the false documents' offence is 10 years' imprisonment. Mr Connors's lawyer Mark Stone made no application for bail on his client's behalf and did not answer reporters' questions, saying he had "no comment" as the matter was before the courts. The matter will return to court on August 15.

22yo mum charged over critical baby injuries
A young mum is accused of seriously injuring her baby after she took her to a Sydney hospital with critical injuries. State Crime Command's Child Abuse Squad detectives commenced an investigation following reports the two-month-old girl had presented in critical condition at Mt Druitt Hospital in Sydney's west on Friday, June 27. Following inquiries, police arrested a 22-year-old woman in Greystanes on Thursday. She was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with two counts of reckless grievous bodily harm - DV and assault occasioning actual bodily harm - DV. The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court next month. Sources told the woman arrived at the hospital with a male who is not accused of any wrongdoing. The child, who needed to be resuscitated, was then stabilised and transferred to Westmead Children's Hospital where she remains. It is believed the baby has suffered a brain injury.
