Lando Norris puts Canada crash behind him to set practice pace in Austria
Lando Norris bounced back from his Canada collision with McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri to finish fastest in practice for the Austrian Grand Prix.
Norris' world championship bid was dealt a significant blow in Montreal a fortnight ago when he ran into the back of Piastri and retired from the race.

The collision cast him 22 points adrift of Piastri but Norris claimed an early advantage at Spielberg's Red Bull Ring by topping the timesheets.
Norris finished 0.157 seconds clear of Piastri in a McLaren one-two, with four-time world champion Max Verstappen third. The Dutchman finished three tenths off the pace.
Aston Martin's Lance Stroll ended the day in fourth, one place clear of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. George Russell, who landed his first win of the season in Montreal, slipped to sixth having set the pace in the opening running of the weekend earlier on Friday.
For Lewis Hamilton, it was another difficult day at the wheel of his Ferrari. A gearbox problem restricted Hamilton's programme in the first session and then he was only 10th quickest in the day's concluding running.

'For some reason I have just got no pace,' said Hamilton on the radio, with his best lap nearly a second off the leading time and three tenths adrift of Leclerc in the other Ferrari.
Hamilton was also the subject of an investigation after impeding Kimi Antonelli – the Italian teenager who replaced him at Mercedes – through turn four.

Antonelli had to take evasive action at high speed as Hamilton wandered back on to the racing line.
Hamilton immediately apologised to Antonelli – drawing alongside the 18-year-old's Mercedes before offering an apologetic hand – but was summoned to see the stewards to explain his actions.

Hamilton escaped with a warning.
Earlier, Norris sat out the opening session with Alex Dunne becoming the first Irishman since Ralph Firman in 2003 to take part in an Formula One event.
Dunne, 19, who is a McLaren development driver and leads the Formula Two standings, finished an impressive fourth and within a tenth of Piastri.
'A little boy's dream came true,' he said over the radio. 'This is the best day of my life.'

Hamilton was another three tenths in arrears, being stronger than Leclerc in traction zones out of slower corners but losing time elsewhere. Advertisement Neither Leclerc nor Hamilton enjoyed a regular day of running, with Leclerc sitting out FP1 for rookie runner Dino Beganovic and Hamilton restricted on long runs due to his early gearbox issues. But while Leclerc dismissed that lack of running as a factor, he did have an uncomfortable time in FP2 marked by a few off-track excursions. "FP1 didn't really compromise FP2. I felt kind of at ease on the track straight away, but not really at ease with the way the car feels," Leclerc reported. "There's quite a bit of work to be done for tomorrow. We were very similar to the fastest guys. But the problem is that everything is so close that as soon as you start P6 or P7, then in the race it's extremely difficult to come back where you should be. "It's very difficult for me to make any comments," he shrugged. "People expect that as a driver you just go with a new part and boom, it's like straight away so much faster. But we are still speaking about very fine gains. And if you didn't do FP1 and if you don't have a reference, it's very difficult to feel. But numbers wise, it does what it's expected to do, and I'm happy with that." Hamilton paid tribute to his team for delivering the new floor and solving his gearbox issues ahead of FP2, but also felt Friday's running was "not spectacular" for the Prancing Horse. "We had a problem in the morning with the gearbox, which was obviously difficult and frustrating for everyone in the garage, because the boys did a great job, kept topping it up," the seven-time world champion said. Advertisement "But you go out and you can only do one lap, so we didn't get the long runs. But I think we recovered okay with it. They did a great job changing the gearbox and getting us ready for P2. "But Charles was six tenths off, and I was close to a second off, so not ideal. We'll make some changes and try to get a little bit closer, but we won't be at the front. "There was a huge amount of work going on to bring the floor, but as you see, it's not necessarily going to change our competitiveness. The car actually doesn't feel bad. Spied: AMG's New 4-Door Supercar Caught Testing In the Alps
Hot on the heels of the AMG GT XX concept's reveal on Tuesday , spy videographers have caught Mercedes testing the production version gliding stealthily through the Alps. Expected to share much of the concept's design, AMG's all-electric, four-door supercar wears the same sleek fastback bodylines as the GT XX, albeit heavily camouflaged in a patterned wrap. The massive grille seems to be making a return, as do the circular-pattern taillights. But the headlights are notably different, with a more production-ready tri-star design, inspired by the brand's logo. Though we never see this test mule pull off any quick corners or hard accelerations, we do get a taste of its sound. That's right, this EV isn't silent. There's a distinct engine-like idle emanating from underneath that camouflage, a feature hyped up by executives at the concept's reveal on Wednesday. There's not much to glean from the sound itself—it doesn't seem like a burbling V-8 to us—but it's also likely not finalized. So take the noise with a grain of salt, for now. As for performance, there should be a lot of it. The AMG GT XX concept is rated at 1,340 horsepower thanks to three axial-flux motors, two at the rear, and another up front. It runs on an 800-volt architecture for ultra-quick charging and uses direct-cooled cylindrical battery cells for better cooling attributes. While that power figure might not be the same, it's very likely the production car will carry this same powertrain setup when it's revealed later this year. As for pricing, the AMG GT EV will likely compete directly against its closest segment rival, the Porsche Taycan , which starts at $101,395.
