Spain's LaLiga soccer league, which features clubs such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, also uses AI in match analysis and media production while clubs roll out AI-driven experiences to engage more fans.
The Premier League, England's top soccer league, is also migrating its core digital infrastructure to Microsoft Azure to allow for easier AI integration and create a unified platform for the league.

Liverpool continue huge summer spend as Milos Kerkez completes £40m move from Bournemouth
Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Milos Kerkez (Liverpool FC via Getty Images) Liverpool have confirmed the signing of left-back Milos Kerkez. The Reds agreed a £40million deal with Bournemouth last week, and Kerkez has now put pen to paper on a five-year contract. The 21-year-old flew in on Monday to undergo the first part of his medical tests and then completed those on Tuesday before the official announcement came on Thursday morning. Advertisement Regarding the move, the Hungary international said: "I'm really happy. It's a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I'm just really, really happy and excited. "After this, I'll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can't really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season." "I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now. "And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you're the biggest fan base in the world. Advertisement "I'm going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can't wait to hear the roar. And see you soon." Milos Kerkez is officially a Liverpool player (Liverpool FC via Getty Images) Kerkez's arrival continues what has already been a busy summer for the Premier League champions. Liverpool acted quickly to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold after his departure to Real Madrid, with Jeremie Frimpong brought in for £29.5m. Frimpong's former Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Florian Wirtz has joined him at Anfield, after the Reds agreed a club record £116m deal for the German. The signing of Kerkez has raised speculation over the future of Andy Robertson. Recent reports have suggested that Atletico Madrid are keen to bring the left-back to Spain if he does decide to leave Liverpool this summer.

Manchester United sign Matheus Cunha as Ruben Amorim lands first summer deal
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves. The Brazilian international forward was pictured outside of the Lowry Hotel in Manchester on Sunday morning, leading to speculation that an official transfer announcement was imminent. Advertisement That has now arrived, with United revealing in a short statement that they had reached an agreement with Wolves, with Cunha's move to Old Trafford subject to visa and registration. He is reported to have agreed a five-year contract until 2030 that includes a club option for a further 12 months beyond that. They added: 'Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford.' United have triggered the £62.5million release clause in a four-and-a-half year contract extension only signed by Cunha at Molineux back in February, reportedly agreeing earlier this week to Wolves' demands that the money be paid in three instalments over the next two seasons as per that deal, rather than spread over five instead. Advertisement Wolves have also confirmed what is a club-record deal for them, writing: 'Everyone at Wolves would like to thank Matheus for his contributions in old gold and wish he and his family the best of luck for the future.' Cunha spent two-and-a-half years at Wolves after initially joining on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023, scoring 33 goals in 92 total appearances across all competitions. He began his career in Brazil with Coritiba and moved to Europe with Swiss side FC Sion in 2017, also playing in the Bundesliga for both RB Leipzig and Hertha Berlin. Cunha has one goal in 13 senior caps for Brazil to date. This season, he netted 17 times in 36 outings for Wolves, helping them to comfortably avoid relegation from the Premier League in the end after a strong run under Gary O'Neil's successor Vitor Pereira, having initially stayed put despite strong transfer speculation in January. Advertisement Cunha also twice landed in hot water with the Football Association (FA), handed a two-game ban and fined £80,000 after clashing with a security guard during Wolves' 2-1 home defeat by Ipswich in December. He also served a four-game suspension and was fined £50,000 after being sent off following an ugly altercation with Milos Kerkez after the FA Cup loss at Bournemouth in March. Cunha is United's first signing of what is expected to be a hugely busy summer in the transfer market, with the first of two windows opening on Sunday for 10 days ahead of the Club World Cup, which United are not involved in. He follows left-back Patrick Dorgu as only the second signing of the Ruben Amorim era, with United also being linked with the likes of Sporting Lisbon duo Pedro Goncalves and Viktor Gyokeres as well as Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo as they desperately try to keep influential captain Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford following another lucrative offer from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. However, another important target, Ipswich striker Liam Delap, is poised to undergo a medical at Chelsea on Monday ahead of a £30m move to Stamford Bridge.

'The club is going to build': Milos Kerkez issues Liverpool warning after completing £40m transfer
Milos Kerkez says Liverpool can only get 'a lot better' next season after completing his transfer. Kerkez has become the Reds' third major signing of the summer, following Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz through the doors at Anfield. Advertisement If reports are to be believed that the Hungary international cost Liverpool in the region of £40m from Bournemouth, then that takes their spending to just under £200m. Kerkez arrives on Merseyside on the back of an impressive season with the Cherries in which he featured in all 38 Premier League games, scoring twice and weighing in with six assists. The 21-year-old will now aim to help Liverpool retain the league title and has issued an ominous warning to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea. 'Yeah, definitely. This is a club that wants to win, needs to win. Of course it's a big thing last season, completely dominated everyone I think, and of course big congratulations,' he told the club's official website. Advertisement 'But always, you know, you need to want more and definitely from last season I think this season the club is going to build on it and only get a lot better. Milos Kerkez has signed a long-term deal with Liverpool (Liverpool FC via Getty Images) Kerkez has also set his sights on winning trophies during his time at Liverpool, particularly the Champions League - a competition the Reds fell short in last season as they crashed out on penalties to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain at the round of 16 stage. 'Obviously to reach my potential to the fullest and to be the best player I can,' he added. 'And help the team win trophies. I think it's everyone's dream to win trophies – win the league, win the Champions League – and this club is meant for it. Advertisement 'And that's my dream and I'm going to give everything to reach that.' Kerkez will report for pre-season training next month and his Premier League debut for Liverpool could come against former club Bournemouth in the opening game of the new season.
