Storm The Ramparts continued his white-hot winter form with another easy win at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.
Trainer Joe Pride's underrated Storm The Ramparts was simply too fast and too good for his chasing rivals in the 50 Year And Life Member Handicap (1100m).
Pride said he was surprised that form analysts and punters had taken a set against Storm The Ramparts primarily because the sprinter had been burdened with 62.5kg.

'Punters' obsession with weight is ridiculous and sometimes they ignore the obvious,'' Pride said.
'Storm The Ramparts is a proper 78 grade proven horse and is flying. He's a ripper.
'We changed it up by bringing him to Rosehill as opposed to the Randwick 1000m but he went really well again. This horse is having a fantastic preparation.''
Storm The Ramparts ($4), ridden by Josh Parr, made light of his hefty handicap and led most of the way to score by just over a length from the fast finishing First Landing ($10) with Pokerjack ($13) a close third.
Godolphin's Tarpaulin was backed into $1.80 favouritism and after looming as a chance half-way down the straight he faded to finish nearly four lengths away in fourth placing.
Storm The Ramparts scored his third Sydney Saturday win (plus two seconds) from five starts this campaign and Pride said there is no reason not to keep the in-form sprinter in training through winter.
'He has been enjoying himself on these winter tracks of late, although he also performed very well on the dry last start,'' Pride said.

'The July Sprint back here in a couple of weeks would not be out of the question. I won it with Eduardo a few years ago and I'm sure there is no Eduardo in the race this year.''
Storm The Ramparts had gone winless for 18-months under his form surge this winter but Pride explained that the sprinter had been troubled by a shoulder complaint.
'He was diagnosed with a shoulder problem that was bothering him so we gave him a decent break and he has come back in great form,'' Pride said.
'His half-brother, Dragonstone, got better as he got older and that is exactly the pathway this horse has been on.''
Meanwhile, Pride confirmed another of his stable's form sprinters, In Flight, will be chasing a hat-trick of stakes wins in the Group 3 $200,000 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield next Saturday.
Talented mare In Flight ran second to Dragonstone in the Listed Hawkesbury Rush before reeling off successive Listed wins in the Bright Shadow Quality and the Bob Charley AO Stakes.
'In Flight is super, she trialled at Kembla Grange during the week and is going great,'' he said.

Stern Idol blitzes rivals in Thackeray

Don't miss out on the headlines from Horse Racing. Followed categories will be added to My News. Champion jumper Stern Idol defied multiple challengers to win the Thackeray Steeplechase (3450m) at Warrnambool on Sunday. Ciaron Maher-trained Stern Idol dictated the race in trademark style under jockey Steven Pateman and absorbed a 1600m assault from Leaderboard and Fabalot to win by 12 lengths. Fabalot kept the winner honest early before Leaderboard loomed large with four fences to jump but Stern Idol cleared the obstacles the better under pressure. 'He was awesome again,' Pateman said in the mounting yard interview on 'A bit of pressure early but he actually jumped his way to the front, got into rhythm. 'He jumped beautiful and that's what won him the race … too good.' Pateman sealed a Sunday jumps treble with a sixth Thackeray success. Stern Idol also delivered Maher his sixth Thackeray triumph. Earlier, Bevan Laming-trained Right Now, a $20 outsider, ploughed through the heavy track to cause a boil over in the Kevin Lafferty Hurdle (3200m) under Arron Lynch. Right Now travelled nicely midfield and moved up to control the race as $1.40 favourite Loft, previously unbeaten over hurdles, jumped the third-last flight awkwardly and lost momentum Loft fought back to clear the last and turned for home with Right Now but peaked on the run. Monday Racebook: Gilbert Gardiner's horses to follow and forgive out of Flemington

Herald Sun racing writer Gilbert Gardiner's horses to follow and forgive out of Winter Finals Day at Flemington on Saturday. PUNT LIKE A PRO: Become a Racenet iQ member and get expert tips – with fully transparent return on investment statistics – from Racenet's team of professional punters at our Pro Tips section. SUBSCRIBE NOW! FIVE TO FOLLOW SASSY BOOM (2nd, R9) Gallant in defeat. Fired out from another wide barrier to settle on speed and gave her all late until $61 outsider MISS TARZY jumped out of the pack. Three runs under the belt now for Sassy Boom and primed to snare a deserved win fourth-up. CINDY FALLS (unplaced) also one to follow next start. BAYOU MUSIC (unplaced, R2) Shallow race outside impressive winner BUCCLEUCH, but Bayou Music could be a spring three-year-old player for Godolphin towards the Victoria Derby. Stalked the eventual winner in the run from well back in the field but could not quicken as sharply to get into the race. The son of Street Boss out of a Zabeel mare should thrive at 2000m and beyond. PEREILLE (2nd, R3) Fourth start of the campaign so expected to do so and duly delivered with a hard fought second. Marble Nine too good, too tough and too fit late but Pereille lost no admirers back in Melbourne after three solid hit-outs in Sydney. Clocked the fastest closing sectionals on the card. INHIBITIONS (3rd) just peaked on the run first-up. The Godolphin pair should be hard to hold out next start. DUCHESS ZOU (3rd, R6) Not quite sharp enough to go with eventual runner-up SHE'S AN ARTIST in pursuit of BRIDAL WALTZ (1st) but motored the last 200m once fully into stride. Has improved markedly with racing in a short time, second in a Ballarat maiden eight weeks ago followed by easy back-to-back Sale and Geelong wins. BERKELEY SQUARE (unplaced, R8) First-up after a break and raced solidly over an unsuitable distance. The Ballarat Cup-winner saved ground midfield under apprentice jockey Jaylah Kennedy and worked through his gears nicely in the straight, albeit in and around tiring horses. Looks set for a nice preparation this campaign. FORGIVE OH TOO GOOD (unplaced, R8) Unable to burn the candle at both ends. Had to be used up from the wide draw to land outside the leader, who kept on rolling at a solid clip. Oh Too Good tried hard but could not sustain the effort. Earned a break and should be back for the spring. SHE'S AN ARTIST (2nd, R6) Rolled odds-on pop not ideal, but it is all ahead of the electric filly. Two wins and now second in a stakes' race a wonderful start to her racing career. She's An Artist is a neat filly on the smaller side so two weeks' between runs maybe not her go at this point in time. Stick with her and FIELDELO (4th). STREET ARTIST (unplaced, R1) First-starter around the mark in the run but copped a bump at about the 350m and lost momentum. Under pressure immediately after the contact and took the best part of 200m to balance up again. Should be better for the experience and around a bend next time. CAPTAIN ELECTRIC (unplaced, R5) A post-race veterinary examination found the gelding lame in the right hind leg. A genuine wet tracker not suited by conditions last Saturday. In the market the past two starts and disappointed on improving surfaces. Tough in drought conditions to find wet tracks but Captain Electric could benefit from an easier midweek metro option on rain-affected ground to regain confidence. AFL 2025 Sydney Swans defeat Fremantle Dockers, Round 17, as Tom Papley injured at the SCG

Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News. The Sydney Swans are still alive in season 2025 after a thrilling 11-point win over Fremantle on Sunday. But their 14.10 (94) to 12.11 (83) win has come at a cost with Joel Amartey (groin) limping off in the dying stages and Tom Papley (hamstring) subbed out at half time. It's another painful close loss for the Dockers, who missed the finals last year after several narrow defeats. FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? The Swans were out by 20 points in the third term before the Dockers found their fight through big man Luke Jackson (13 disposals, two goals) who kicked truly after the three quarter time siren. When Michael Frederick put his running shot out on the full in the dying stages, Sydney were able to hang on for the win. Fremantle's top eight hopes now hang in the balance, but for Sydney they stay alive in season 2025, although coach Dean Cox is sweating on his latest injuries. 'We need to work out the extent of that (Papley's injury) and the same with Amartey late in the game,' he said. 'We'll see throughout the next couple of days how that settles, get some scans and the results will come from that.' Their 11-point win at the SCG was set up on the back of a first half midfield 'bashing'. At half time, the Swans nailed five goals to none from centre clearance in worrying signs for Freo coach Justin Longmuir. X Learn More SUBSCRIBER ONLY 'They've been so dominant – plus-13 for clearance but in particular their centre bounce work, five goals from centre bounce,' Fox Footy's Alastair Lynch said. 'It is the mechanics of the four that are in there,' Dermott Brereton added. 'When (Brodie) Grundy is in there predominantly, they are having the first look, the first touch, the first clearance, first possession. It's predominantly going Sydney's way. 'That's the difference in the game as it stands.' Brodie Grundy was given the massive task of taking on Freo's tag team of Sean Darcy and Jackson. Brodie Grundy (left) was a standout again for the Swans. (Photo by) But Sydney's 'shining light' delivered in another outstanding performance. 'He's like a man possessed,' Fox Footy's Dwayne Russell said. 'He's a different man Brodie Grundy this last month and a bit. 'He did finish fourth in the best and fairest last year.' Statistics showed Grundy has leapt into the #11 ranked player in the AFL – up from the #95 he was ranked for the first six rounds. By full time, Grundy racked up 20 disposals, 33 hit-outs and a goal in a stellar performance. The Swans have shown vast improvement since the likes of Errol Gulden returned, but Cox will be hoping for some good news on the injury front ahead of next week's clash with the Saints at Marvel Stadium.
