The card's annual credits are substantial, including a $300 hotel credit valid on multi-night stays booked via Citi's travel platform, a $200 'Splurge' credit redeemable at select retailers such as Best Buy and Live Nation, and four American Airlines Admirals Club lounge passes per year—a unique benefit not offered by competing
premium
cards.
Additional perks include lounge access, a biannual $100 Blacklane chauffeur credit totaling $200 annually, and a Global Entry or
TSA PreCheck
fees every four years. The Strata Elite also waives foreign transaction fees and comes with comprehensive travel and purchase protections. Members enjoy exclusive offers at premium hotels, such as complimentary breakfast, late checkout privileges, and $100 experience credits at select locations.

A key highlight setting the Strata Elite apart is its ability to transfer points at a 1:1 ratio to
American Airlines AAdvantage
miles. This feature marks the first time in the U.S. consumer credit market that Citi has enabled such a transfer, following American Airlines' recent partnership with Citi's ThankYou Rewards program.
Points can be earned at competitive rates across multiple categories, with authorized users available for $75 each, granting nearly full card benefits including lounge access. This approach signals Citi's renewed focus on the high-end travel segment, reminiscent of its earlier Citi Prestige card, which was discontinued for new applicants in 2021.
The launch of the Strata Elite intensifies the competition among premium credit cards amid a highly active "perk war." Chase's recent increase of the Sapphire Reserve annual fee to $795 was paired with enhanced benefits, while American Express continues to evolve its Platinum card, maintaining its $695 fee but adding new credits and exclusive experiences to retain customers. Capital One, with its Venture X card priced at $395 annually, is also expanding its travel offerings to capture affluent consumers seeking premium perks at a lower cost.
Despite rising fees in this segment, analysts note that the demand for luxury travel rewards remains strong, supported by Federal Reserve data indicating average U.S. credit card interest rates above 20%, which accentuates the value of rewards and benefits for consumers.
Citi's head of U.S. cards and lending highlighted the design philosophy of the new card, stating, "The modern customer, who is affluent with a passion for travel and dining, told us they want to maximize the rewards they can earn in the categories they care about."

Unlisted stocks have Rs 150 lakh crore potential, India's market cap can double in 4 years: Raamdeo Agrawal
India's Rs 414 lakh crore stock market could double in value over the next four years, adding Rs 400 lakh crore in incremental capitalisation, according to Motilal Oswal Financial Services Chairman Raamdeo Agrawal . He sees the country's vast unlisted corporate universe as the next frontier for value creation. In the company's FY25 annual report, Agrawal noted that over 1,300 unlisted companies in India posted annual profits of Rs 1 billion or more in FY24. He added that these firms collectively have the potential to unlock Rs 150 lakh crore in market value if listed, equivalent to half of listed India Inc's current profits. Do This Every Morning Wellnee Undo The unlisted universe holds immense potential Calling the equity market 'a magical place for wealth creation,' Agrawal urged more private companies to tap public markets to unlock value and raise growth capital. 'Every entrepreneur should aspire to be here. Which is why I'm surprised to find that there are still over 20,000 unlisted companies in India,' he said. 'The unlisted universe holds immense potential. According to one database, over 1,300 unlisted companies posted FY24 profits of Rs 1 billion or more. Their combined FY24 profit was Rs 7.5 trillion, which is 50% of listed India Inc's profits. Assuming a P/E of 20x, this translates to Rs 150 trillion in incremental market capitalisation!' Live Events Agrawal highlighted the wealth creation benefits of listing, saying it allows entrepreneurs to monetise equity without giving up control or impacting the company's financial position. 'Listing creates tradable wealth in the hands of entrepreneurs. They're free to use it as they please—consumption, investing, even philanthropy - without losing control of the company or affecting the balance sheet. This is tantamount to eating the cake and having it too!' He further noted that raising equity enables capital expansion and employee incentives through ESOPs, while the costs of listing are 'next to nothing—just compliance with a few Sebi and stock exchange norms.' 'Hence, I would urge all unlisted companies to go ahead and list themselves at the earliest.' Market cap momentum and capital market opportunity Tracing India's market capitalisation journey, Agrawal noted that it has risen from Rs 7.5 lakh crore in March 2000 to Rs 414 lakh crore in March 2025, delivering a 17% CAGR over 25 years. 'At that pace, market cap will double in the next four years, adding Rs 400 trillion in value,' Agrawal said. 'This opens up exponential opportunities in broking, asset management, wealth management, investment banking, and more.' Also read | Want to invest Rs 1 lakh when in your twenties?
