John Leguizamo is the latest star to join the cast of Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey.' He will appear alongside previously announced cast members Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie and Jon Bernthal.
Universal shared last month that the film 'is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer's foundational saga to IMAX film screens for the first time.'

Homer's ancient Greek epic poem 'The Odyssey' remains one of the oldest pieces of literature still read by modern audiences. It chronicles the story of Greek hero Odysseus during his tumultuous journey home following the Trojan War.
'The Odyssey' is due in theaters on July 17, 2026. Nolan is set to write and will produce with Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner.
As Variety exclusively reported this week, the film will be partly filmed in Sicily, which is notable for being a location for Odysseus' wanderings in the epic. Shooting there is expected to begin in spring 2025 on the island of Favignana, considered the 'goat island,' which many believe to be the place where Homer visualized Odysseus landing with his crew.
Comedian and actor Leguizamo's career spans four decades, including memorable turns in films like 'To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar' (which earned him a Golden Globe nomination), 'Romeo + Juliet,' 'Summer of Sam,' 'Moulin Rouge,' 'The Pest,' the 'Ice Age' franchise, and 'The Menu,' among many others. His TV credits include 'When They See Us,' 'The Power,' 'Waco,' 'Bloodline,' and the MSNBC travel series 'Leguizamo Does America.' He received Emmy nods for both 'When They See Us' and 'Waco.' He has also performed multiple one man shows on Broadway, including 'Freak,' 'Sexaholix,' and 'Latin History for Morons,' earning himself multiple Tony Award nominations.
Universal had no comment. The InSneider was first to report the news of Leguizamo's casting.

Emily Makes a Long-Awaited Return in 'The Handmaid's Tale' Series Finale

Spoilers below. The Handmaid's Tale has put us through the wringer throughout its final season (and the whole series, really), but luckily, not all of the surprises have been brutal. In this week's season 6 finale—the show's final episode—June (Elisabeth Moss) and viewers at home were treated to Emily's (Alexis Bledel) shocking but welcome return. The character, who was introduced in the show's first season, was written off after season 4 when Bledel stepped away from the series. In season 5, Emily's wife, Sylvia (Clea DuVall), tells June that Emily returned to Gilead on a personal mission to seek revenge and find Aunt Lydia. Since then, she's been missing in action, until this week's finale scene, where Emily and June reunite and take a walk together in a freed Boston. 'It was an immediate yes,' Bledel told The Hollywood Reporter of returning to Handmaid's for the finale. 'It felt right to bring closure to Emily's journey and offer the audience a sense of completion. Bruce put together such a kind and talented group, and so many of the original crew were still there in season six. The production runs like a well-oiled machine — everyone brings their best. I'm excited to see what they create in [sequel series] The Testaments.' Bledel added, 'I hope viewers take away to keep hope alive when things seem impossible. Even if it seems like seeds you plant couldn't possibly grow, plant seeds of hope anyway. You never know; they might find a way.' The actress announced her departure from The Handmaid's Tale in May 2022, ahead of the season 5 premiere. 'After much thought, I felt I had to step away from 'The Handmaid's Tale' at this time,' she told Variety in a statement. 'I am forever grateful to Bruce Miller for writing such truthful and resonant scenes for Emily, and to Hulu, MGM, the cast and crew for their support.' At the time, Moss told Entertainment Tonight that Bledel's exit 'wasn't the easiest thing in the world to handle, I'll be honest with you, because she's such a great, fantastic part of the show. But I do think that it was handled in a really good way.' Years later, the star, director, and executive producer opened up about bringing Bledel—and Emily—back to Handmaid's for its emotional conclusion. 'Bruce talked to me about bringing her back a while ago, before there was even an outline or script,' Moss told THR. 'I think I said to him at the time, 'You realize now that you've told me that, we have to do it.' It's not the easiest thing in the world to call an actor and be like, 'Can you come back for this one episode?' They're busy. But I was like, 'She has to do it.' I get very passionate about these things! And she wanted to do it from the beginning. She didn't need convincing at all. My first official scene on day one [on set] was with Alexis. So it meant a lot to get to work with her again.' That surprise cameo meant a lot to fans, too. ELLE Collective is a new community of fashion, beauty and culture lovers. ‘My Life With the Walter Boys' Season 2 First Look Photos Tease Tension With Alex After Jackie Kissed Cole

Netflix has released new photos from the second season of 'My Life With the Walter Boys,' which premieres this summer. Along with the first look images, the streamer also put out a new synopsis for Season 2, which reads: 'After leaving Silver Falls following Alex's (Ashby Gentry) love confession and her kiss with Cole (Noah LaLonde), Jackie Howard spent the summer in New York City. When Katherine convinces her to return to Colorado, Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) is determined to make amends with Alex and set boundaries with Cole while finding her place within the Walter family. But fitting back in isn't that easy. Alex – who changed a lot over the summer – isn't too thrilled about Jackie's attempts to reconnect, as he's focused on training for a risky rodeo event (and enjoying all of the new attention he's getting). Meanwhile, Cole takes on a new role at school, but when that doesn't quite fill the void left by not playing football, his old ways creep back in and cause drama. As Jackie gains acceptance in Silver Falls while trying to hold onto her Howard identity, she's forced to make a choice that could destroy everything she's worked to rebuild.' WWE making SmackDown runtime change soon

The post WWE making SmackDown runtime change soon appeared first on ClutchPoints. Those who believe WWE Friday Night SmackDown runs too long at three hours will be happy to know its runtime will soon be shortened to two hours. Advertisement It appears WWE will move SmackDown back to two hours on Friday, August 15, 2025. Dave Meltzer posted about this on X, formerly Twitter, citing a report from Variety. 'Variety reported The Rainmaker (having nothing to do with [Kazuchika] Okada) debuts on USA on 8/15 at 10 p.m.,' his post began. 'That would indicate SmackDown goes back to two hours that night.' Of course, SmackDown currently holds USA's 8-11 pm EST time slot every Friday. With The Rainmaker coming and presumably debuting new episodes every Friday at 10 pm, SmackDown will need to wrap up by then. WWE has not confirmed the report. There is a chance they make the move sooner. Either way, it appears SmackDown will revert to its two-hour format by August 15 at the latest. Advertisement WWE Friday Night SmackDown's controversial three-hour runtime SmackDown moved to USA Network in October 2024 after spending the last five years on FOX. Monday Night RAW was gearing up for its move to Netflix in January 2025, and WWE moved its Friday night program to USA. In early January, WWE made SmackDown a three-hour program on USA. That gave the show an extra hour of programming, but it is largely taken up by recaps and highlights from past shows. The extra hour could give other Superstars a chance to shine, but that is not what it has usually been used for. Now, it will revert to its two-hour format. Hopefully, WWE will be able to regain their footing with the pacing of the show. We will have to see how they pivot once they lose the extra hour of programming. Advertisement Meanwhile, WWE has more leniency on Netflix with RAW. Unlike SmackDown, RAW does not have a strict broadcast slot. It begins at 8 pm EST every Monday Night, but it can end whenever WWE wants.
