James Bond enthusiasts being treated to definitive release of one of franchise's most iconic scores
La-La Land Records will release a deluxe vinyl edition of 'Goldfinger' on 1 June, featuring the most complete version to date of John Barry's score for the third 007 movie, released in 1964 and starring Sean Connery as the spy.
As the label unveiled its ambitious plans to reissue classic Bond soundtracks on both vinyl and CD, a representative for the company said in a statement about the Goldfinger release: 'We want fans to have something to look forward to every six weeks or so.'
The label, which has built a strong reputation for restoring and reissuing film and television soundtracks, confirmed this will be the first time all known cues from the 1964 film have been compiled on a single vinyl record.
The release is timed to coincide with renewed interest in Bond music, even as official news about the next 007 film remains under wraps.
The 'Goldfinger' release follows La-La Land's recent remastered CD editions of several Bond titles, including 'The Man With the Golden Gun' and 'Moonraker'.
Its CD editions introduced never-before-released musical cues, alongside improved audio.
The new vinyl pressing of 'Goldfinger' will be available in two editions — 700 units of a 'Fort Knox Bullion' version and 300 of the 'Body Paint Gold' version — priced at $34.98 each.
The reissue features liner notes by Jon Burlingame, a journalist and author specialising in film music.
It was produced by Neil S. Bulk, with restoration by Chris Malone and mastering by Doug Schwartz.
The art design is by Jim Titus.
Founded in 2002, La-La Land Records has spent over two decades restoring classic scores.
Previous releases include franchises such as 'Star Trek – The Original Series', 'Planet of the Apes', 'Friday the 13th' and 'Lethal Weapon'.
The label's work has been praised by collectors for addressing inconsistencies in earlier soundtrack editions – an issue particularly relevant to Bond releases, which have long varied between U.S. and international markets.
In addition to 'Goldfinger', La-La Land has confirmed that a newly remastered CD version of the score for 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' will be released later this summer.
Further down the line, the next two Bond vinyl reissues will be 'Moonraker' and 'The Man With the Golden Gun', both issued as double LPs.
The company aims to keep up momentum with a Bond soundtrack released every three months on vinyl, supplemented by new CD editions in between – offering long-time collectors and newcomers a steady stream of Bond music throughout the year.

The iconic watchmaker, revered for its stellar assortment of field watches and dress ensembles, has unveiled a new collaborative project with renowned video game designer Hideo Kojima, the mastermind behind cult classic Death Stranding. As part of the joint venture, a futuristic Boulton-inspired Hamilton timepiece is set to appear in Kojima's long-awaited sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, in addition to being released as a limited-edition reference. This week, Hamilton finally gave us a first look at the video game-themed American Classic Boulton Death Stranding 2 Limited Edition, and it must be said, it is a bona fide stunner. For video game fans, Death Stranding 2 could well be the most anticipated game of the year. Featuring world-class voice talent such as The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus and James Bond's Léa Seydoux, Kojima's latest effort is said to push the narrative and experiential boundaries of gaming. The accompanying timepiece follows a similar theme, arriving in a futuristic titanium case finished with a black PVD treatment. What's more, for Kojima, the partnership with Hamilton represented more than just a sharing of ideas. 'More than half a century ago, in the late 1960s, one of my favourite film directors, Stanley Kubrick, commissioned Hamilton to create the watch that appears in his film 2001: A Space Odyssey. I feel very honoured to have been able to create the watch that appears in my latest work, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, together with Hamilton,' Kojima said. 'Both 2001: A Space Odyssey and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach are set in a slightly futuristic world beyond the actual time period in which they were created. Hamilton, which has provided watches for many films, was a perfect choice as a partner to design and create a product set in the near future, which is an extension of the present. Please take this watch in your hands and experience the product that connects the world of the game and the real world.' According to Hamilton, design cues from the Boulton are seen in the sleek, arching lines of the titanium case, a material that reduced the watch's weight by 45 per cent while also improving its anti-corrosive properties. Remarkably, the watch utilises seven sapphire crystals: one primary viewing window with two columns of three on each side, matching the lines of the case. This unique, never-before-seen case shape creates a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, which is matched by the minimalist grey indicators on the face and contrasting orange lacquered seconds hand and 12 o'clock index. Inside, you'll find a three-hand automatic 25-jewel movement with an 80-hour power reserve and a Nivachron balance spring. Limited to just 2,000 pieces worldwide, each with individual case back numbering, the Hamilton American Classic Boulton Death Stranding 2 Limited Edition is the ultimate collector's piece. Reference Q9028651 sports the same unique and funky Ocean Grey aesthetic that we saw on last year's Polaris Date and Polaris Geographic, a look that arrives courtesy of a complex lacquering process that involves 35 layers and meticulous polishing. However, despite the timepiece's visual similarities, there are some undeniable differences with this year's release. The 42mm chronograph is powered by the in-house Calibre 761, which Jaeger-LeCoultre promises will deliver 65 hours of power reserve. The GMT Balancier Convexe is an exploration of horological endeavour, taking watch development to its extremities and delivering supreme accuracy, design and innovation in the process. If you ask me, this is less of a new release and more of a dimension revamp, with Greubel Forsey opting to shave off a few millimetres from its existing GMT Balancier Convexe model. Improved wearability from the case size reduction comes alongside a new escape wheel that boasts more decoration with thinner spokes and contrasting grained finishing. Another addition is a power reserve indicator, but all eyes are on that immense spinning globe, which thankfully hasn't been changed. Insane stuff.

Hulk Hogan's agent Darren Prince reveals how the famous wrestler helped him through his opioid addiction
Hulk Hogan's manager Darren Prince has praised the wrestler for helping him through his opioid addiction in the mid-2000s, saying his famous friend never deserted him. Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died on Thursday, aged 71 after suffering a heart attack at his home in Florida. LA-based talent agent Darren Prince remembered Hogan as a kind person who helped him during his personal struggles. Opioids are a class of drug that are used for pain relief. Common examples include morphine, heroin, codeine, oxycodone. 'As a person he was just one of the most amazing humans ever,' Prince told Sunrise on Friday. Prince said himself and Hogan had always put 'God first'. 'I have been very open. I had my struggles. I recently celebrated 17 years sober from an opiate addiction,' Prince said. 'He called me up earlier (into my recovery). He said 'brother ... you came to the blessing a few months ago. I think it's time you became a blessing to other people and get out there and tell your story to (help) others. 'To get that from someone like him, a cultural phenomenon, to love me and support me. 'I never forgot it.' Despite more than 25 surgeries over the past decade, Prince said Hogan's death was a shock. 'Hulk Hogan — you think Hulkamania lives forever,' Prince said, praising his legacy. 'He's been very open about all the surgeries over the past 12, 13 years. There's been over 20 of them. You're always nervous and there were a couple of close calls (with his health). 'When you go back with someone 25 years, I was blessed to know the real Terry Bollea. 'I never looked at him like Hulk Hogan. He was a dear friend and business associate.' Prince said the iconic wrestler loved his fans. 'It didn't matter where he was, no matter how long it took (he made time for them),' Prince said. 'He always felt like 30, 40 years later he was still treated like the heavyweight wrestling champion of the world. '(He always said about his fans) I will give them as much time as they need to tell them stories and memories (of my professional life).' Tributes have been pouring in from the likes of US President Donald Trump, who Hogan supported during his presidential campaign. 'This time it was after the assassination attempt, I spoke to him a few days after, he was like, 'brother, that's it. I'm putting my foot down I'm going for Trump all the way,' Trump said. Global Career Hogan earned fame for his theatrical wrestling performances. His career began in 1977, spending his early years wrestling in regional promotions across the US, including the World Wrestling Federation, and even competing in Japan. Hogan's over-the-top performances led to the Hulkamania craze of the 1980s, which reached its peak when he was pitted against fellow wrestling superstar André the Giant in a famously heated feud. Hogan's body slam of André at Wrestlemania III remains one of the most iconic moments in professional wrestling history. In The True Story of WrestleMania, Hogan said he never dreamed he could have had the chance to wrestle in New York City's Madison Square Garden. 'And then once I'd made that huge step into the big leagues, WrestleMania was something that I didn't understand,' Hogan said. Hogan made what was considered a controversial move by leaving the WWF in the 1990s and later joining the rival organization at the time, World Championship Wrestling. The move gave his career new life as he led the New World Order, a faction of black-and-white-clad wrestlers who played the roles of supervillains in the league. While Hogan was well-known to wrestling fans, he became a household name after making appearances in several films and television shows that widened his appeal in popular culture. He appeared in the third installment of the Rocky film franchise in which he took on the title character, played by Sylvester Stallone, in a fight between wrestler and boxer. Hogan's family had a reality series on VH1 in the mid-2000s named Hogan Knows Best, following the lives of his then-wife, Linda, and their two children, Brooke and Nick.
