Shah Rukh Khan injured on King set during action scene. Mamata Banerjee tweets concern, calling SRK her brother and wishing him a speedy recovery.
Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently filming his upcoming action thriller King, recently suffered a back injury during an intense stunt sequence. The news has sparked widespread concern across the country, with fans and public figures sending in their wishes for a speedy recovery. Among them is West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who referred to the actor as her 'brother" in an emotional social media post.
Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) handle on July 19, Mamata Banerjee wrote, 'Reports regarding my brother Shah Rukh Khan sustaining muscular injuries during shooting make me worried. Wish him speedy recovery." Her heartfelt tweet has since gone viral, with fans applauding the Chief Minister's warmth and concern for the beloved star.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the incident occurred at Golden Tobacco studio in Mumbai, where SRK was filming an action-heavy sequence for King, a high-octane film directed by Siddharth Anand and co-starring his daughter, Suhana Khan. The superstar sustained a muscular strain, likely caused by years of physically demanding stunts.
Following the injury, Shah Rukh initially travelled to the United States for medical attention and has now shifted to the United Kingdom, where he is recuperating with his family. He has also postponed a planned visit to Sri Lanka to focus on rest and recovery.
'It's not a serious injury, but more of a muscular strain," a source close to the production revealed. 'Given his past injuries from action films, the team opted for precautionary care abroad."
As a result, the shoot schedules for July and August at Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios have been cancelled. The next leg of filming is expected to begin around September or October.
While the production house is yet to issue an official statement, industry insiders suggest that King will feature an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Verma. The film is being positioned as one of the most ambitious projects in Shah Rukh's career and marks a significant milestone as Suhana Khan makes her big-screen debut opposite her father.

What's the story of Kantara Chapter 1 and how does Rishab Shetty's prequel connect to the first part?

Kantara, the 2022 movie starring Rishab Shetty in the lead role, was an action thriller with elements of mythology. Its prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, is releasing in theaters on October 2, 2025. What does its story revolve around, and how will it be connected to the first installment? Let's find out inside. What is the story of Kantara: Chapter 1? According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Kantara: Chapter 1 will revolve around lost ancient traditions from the Tulu region in Karnataka. The prequel film would delve deeper into the lore of Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva deities, making it a thematic connection to the first installment. While the original movie explored just a simple insight into the facets of Panjurli Daiva, this would be more detailed and said to become a one-of-a-kind experience in Indian cinema. Set in pre-colonial coastal Karnataka, the film is touted to be a man's exploration into the connected experiences of nature and divinity under the rule of Kadambas of Banavasi. This was initially teased as the backstory for the ancestral conflict in Kantara (2022). What was the Kadamba dynasty? The Kadamba dynasty was an ancient royal family that ruled northern Karnataka and the Konkan from Banavasi. Founded by Maharaja Mayurasharma in 345 CE, the dynasty lasted 540 CE until being disestablished. What are the Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva deities? According to Tulu folklore, Panjurli Daiva and Guliga Daiva are two deities popularly known from the shamanistic Hindu dance Buta Kola, worshipped in Karnataka. Panjurli is represented as a boar-like demigod who is known for protecting the people and their crops. As legend goes, it is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati once adopted a boar, but as it grew older, it became destructive. This led Lord Shiva to send him to Earth and become a protector god. On the other hand, Guliga Daiva is represented as a spirit much more powerful and ferocious than Panjurli. Often blamed for bringing diseases, misfortune, and chaos, Guliga Daiva's legend describes it as being cursed by Lord Vishnu and sent to Earth. Kantara: Chapter 1 is a mythological action thriller starring, written, and directed by Rishab Shetty. The film, slated to release for October this year, is musically crafted by Ajaneesh Lokanath.

Is Aamir Khan making a film on the Meghalaya Murder Case? Actor responds

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has publicly dismissed recent speculation that he is planning a film based on the high-profile Meghalaya murder case. In a candid interview with Bollywood Hungama, Khan addressed the circulating rumours head-on and clarified his stance on the matter. 'There is no truth to these reports,' the actor said firmly. 'I honestly don't know where these stories start.' The rumours had been steadily gaining traction, with various outlets suggesting that Khan was not only conceptualising a film inspired by the case but was also actively monitoring developments related to it. The buzz intensified after a Times Now report cited unnamed sources allegedly close to Khan, claiming, 'Aamir Khan is closely following the updates on the Meghalaya murder case. He has personally tracked and discussed with his close circle the updates on the details. There might be a development on the subject from his production too.' Despite the media speculation, Khan and his production house have made no official announcements linking them to the case or any project based on it. The lack of concrete confirmation did little to stop the rumour mill from spinning—until now. As it stands, Khan appears to have no involvement—creative or otherwise—with any film related to the Meghalaya murder case. His focus, for now, remains on upcoming projects that have been officially announced. Aamir Khan was last seen in 'Sitaare Zameen Par', which was an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film, 'Campeones'. It is also a spiritual sequel to 'Taare Zameen Par'. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film followed a suspended basketball coach who must serve community service by helping a team of players with disabilities prepare for a tournament.
