General Hospital Recap: What Happens to Rick? Spoilers for March 31
Here are the major General Hospital spoilers from the latest episode:
A horrific car accident severely injured Ric and Elizabeth. Elizabeth broke her leg and needed surgery, while Ric suffered far more serious injuries. At General Hospital, doctors discovered he had severe head trauma and rushed him into emergency surgery. They remained unsure if he would survive.
Lucky Spencer arrived at the crash site and immediately questioned Kristina. Panicked, she confessed, 'It was supposed to be Ava!' She admitted she had cut Ava Jerome's brake lines, convinced she was sabotaging Ava's car. Lucky quickly covered for her, ordering her to return to Charlie's Pub and act as if she had been doing inventory all night.
Meanwhile, at Charlie's, Molly Lansing-Davis ran into Cody Bell. Molly acknowledged Cody's role in helping resolve her parents' disputes and joked that he might not be as bad as his reputation suggests. Their conversation was interrupted when Molly received an urgent call about Ric's accident. She, Cody, and Kristina immediately rushed to the hospital.
Drew Cain faced a crushing blow when Ezra informed him that he could no longer legally use the Quartermaine name. At the Quartermaine crypt, Tracy Quartermaine, with Diane Miller's help, successfully stopped its demolition. She publicly confronted Drew and Councilman Boyle for their vendetta against her family. Trina Robinson livestreamed the confrontation, gaining public support.
In Toronto, Sonny and Jason tracked down the hitman who had targeted them. Though he initially claimed to have information, he attempted to escape and was killed in the process. Sonny and Jason recovered his devices, hoping Brick would uncover clues about who hired him.

That means there's a good chance that Sasha's leaving is simply a storyline, or perhaps Mattsson needed to take a brief leave of absence. 'General Hospital' Legend, 71, Says Farewell Again: 'This Day Comes'
'General Hospital' Legend, 71, Says Farewell Again: 'This Day Comes' originally appeared on Parade. Kin Shriner, 71, has played Scott Baldwin on General Hospital since 1977. Scott played a pivotal role on the ABC soap for decades. However, over the past several years, the character has often disappeared off-screen without any explanation. That was the case when Scott was embroiled in helping Ava (Maura West) switch out Sonny's (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication, but suddenly went out for snacks and never came last time Scott was on-screen was in August 2024, and it appears that's the end of the run for Shriner. Shriner took to X to reveal that his dressing room at General Hospital has been given to Jens Austin Astrup, who plays Kai on the daytime drama. 'This day comes for all actors kin who !!!all u can do is wash it down with a martini and know that people want to take a pic with u every day I had a great run thanks @GeneralHospital fans for decades of support !!!,' he wrote on X while including a picture of the dressing room sign. Shriner has used social media at various times to indicate he wasn't filming the show, alluding to his time on General Hospital coming to an end. In 2023, he shared via X, 'I just found out Scotty @GeneralHospital was written out I thank u @GeneralHospital fans for decades of supporting me !!' As General Hospital fans know, Shriner and Scotty did come back for another stint. However, thanks to another actor now occupying Shriner's dressing room, it seems Scotty's run in Port Charles has come to an end. Then again, it's a soap, and anything is possible, especially when it comes to Scott Baldwin. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.
