Firefighters overcame a "limited" water supply to extinguish 100 tonnes of waste that caught alight.The flames broke out in the village of New England, near Great Yeldham in Essex, at about 00:20 BST on Wednesday."Crews were faced with a large pile of general waste, approximately 20 metres by 20 metres [65ft by 65ft], fully alight," the Essex fire service said.The blaze in Sturmer Road was extinguished after four hours and its cause was undetermined, a spokesman added.

Multiple crews deal with Warwickshire tyre fire near new homes
Firefighters are dealing with a blaze involving about 200 tyres near to new housing estate. Warwickshire Fire Service said it was called to reports of a large fire on Birmingham Road in Ansley at 13:15 BST on Friday. On arrival, three fire crews found the tyres well alight, however the fire was quickly brought under service added that the fire was ongoing and it had caused damage to overhead power lines and electricity supply in the nearby area could be affected. Lyndon Hughes-Marriott was working in a garden nearby when spotted large plumes of smoke. "It was terrible, it looked like a major building, or an old factory was on fire," he said. Mr Hughes-Marriott added: "You couldn't see anything else along the road". The fire service said Birmingham Road, which had been closed, had since reopened. The 34-year-old Dutch man was hiking with friends near Soller when he collapsed. Climate change has caused rising summer temperatures and extreme weather that now breaks records almost every year in Europe. The soaring Mediterranean temperatures will be exacerbated by a meteorological phenomenon known as a heat dome – an area of high pressure that compresses hot air in the atmosphere and causes heatwaves.
