The axe, according to receipts recovered in a search warrant, revealed that Daffinson reportedly bought the axe about an hour before the 911 call was made, while he was en route to her home. Officers arrived and reportedly noticed several wounds and extreme amounts of blood splattered around the living room and staircase of the home. The victim had multiple lacerations on her body, and officers applied medical treatment to stop or slow life-threatening bleeding. According to the complaint, the victim was initially hesitant to tell officers who had attacked her out of fear for her life; however, she later said that her ex-boyfriend Daffinson struck her repeatedly after she broke up with him, and he had been verbally abusive since. Daffinson was reportedly at her home to pick up some of his things. The victim was airlifted to a hospital and underwent surgery for her injuries for several hours, with future surgeries possible, including a possible amputation of her left pinky finger, which was reportedly almost entirely detached. When officers in Germantown made contact with the driver, who was verbally identified as Daffinson, they noticed blood on him, which he claimed was from fighting with his girlfriend. Green Bay Police and Metro Fire Departments demonstrate response efforts in Public Safety Night

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Police Department and Green Bay Metro Fire Department collaborated on Thursday night to showcase some examples of their departments' response efforts. Both departments conducted a live example of how they would respond to an Operating While Intoxicated crash if called to the scene of one. UPDATE: Crash on I-41 in De Pere cleared, all lanes reopened The Green Bay Police also provided a narcotics detection demonstration, showcasing the efforts that officers and their K9 partners work to determine the presence of illicit drugs during an investigation. Green Bay Police Chief Chris Davis called the event a great opportunity for the public to see how their invested resources are used. 'It's a small demonstration that we're able to do in this amount of time, Chief Davis said. 'But we try to put enough elements in it so people can get a good picture of what an emergency response looks like.' Fire Chief Matthew Knott said the demonstrations highlight how the two departments interact and come together, and while some of the examples weren't major, it's a good look into those connections. Vandalism reported at pickleball courts in Kaukauna's La Follette Park 'This is not a huge issue, but this teamwork and collaboration go through all these large-scale incidents,' Chief Knott said. 'This is a complex thing, and our equipment is expensive; this is a highly trained workforce.' The Public Safety Night event was part of Green Bay's broader City Hall Academy program. The eight-week program provides education to residents to better comprehend the processes of city officials and government bodies. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Instead of cameras and microphones, Local 5 picked up safety glasses and hammers to participate in Habitat for Humanity's 15th annual Women's Build 2025. This yearly summer event empowers women from various backgrounds with the opportunity to give back to the community. Missy Gannon leads return of champions at U.S. Women's Disc Golf Championship in Manitowoc Local 5's Jade Henschel, Lisa Malak and Millaine Wells helped out at the Habitat Homestead, which will soon be home to over a dozen families. Andrea Jorgensen, with Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity, said these homes will make a positive impact on other women. 'The wonderful thing about Women Build is not just the empowerment opportunity to try a new skill,' Jorgensen said. 'It brings awareness to the challenges a lot of women face in our community.' For households that hold single mothers, Jorgensen said it holds more meaning: Kewaunee Public Library hosts preschoolers for educational reading with wooden toy car races 'Owning a home is an emotional moment for a lot of our homeowners, but especially our women-led households,' Jorgensen said. 'They have new opportunities that they can experience with their family.' These local initiatives shed light on the ongoing need for affordable housing in the Green Bay Community.
