Former Ravens, Michigan assistant Matt Weiss pleads not guilty to cyber fraud
Via Dan Wetzel of ESPN.com, Weiss was released on a $10,000 bond. He also was required to surrender his passport, and to allow officials to place software on his computer to monitor his Internet use.
Prosecutors allege that Weiss's misconduct dates back to 2015. He allegedly accessed the personal accounts of "thousands" of NCAA student-athletes. He allegedly targeted specific female athletes, accessing personal and intimate photos and videos.
He allegedly exploited the Keffer Development Services system that keeps medical data for student-athletes at roughly 100 schools. He allegedly cracked Keffer's code for obtaining and guessing passwords.
Weiss faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine on 14 different charges, along with another two years behind bars on 10 additional charges.
Weiss has worked for both of the Harbaugh brothers. The relationship began with Jim at Stanford, from 2007 through 2008. Weiss then worked for John and the Ravens, from 2009 through 2020. Weiss rejoined Jim, at Michigan from 2021 through 2022.

Phone search by police at Corewell Hospital shooting leads to child sex abuse charges
A 21-year-old man faces six felony charges after police, while investigating the Corewell Hospital shooting in March, allegedly found child sexually abusive materials on his phone, the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office said Friday. Court records show Frederik Stolaj of Washington Township, Michigan, is charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime. According to the prosecutor's office, officers with the Troy Police Department were investigating the March 20 shooting at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital when they "came into possession" of Stolaj's phone. Officers, while examining the device, allegedly found images of child sexually abusive materials. Stolaj posted a $100,000 bond on Tuesday, according to court records. As a condition of his bond, Stolaj must wear a GPS tether and can not have contact with anyone under the age of 18. He's due back in court for a probable cause conference on Aug. 5. If convicted, Stolaj faces up to 60 years in prison.

1 man, 2 teens seriously injured in boat explosion in Oakland County
A 45-year-old man and two teens are in the hospital after a boat exploded in Waterford Township, Michigan, on Sunday afternoon, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. The man, his 16-year-old son and a friend, 16, were at the boat launch near Highland Road and Williams Lake Road, preparing to take a 17-foot Chris-Craft boat onto Pontiac Lake. The sheriff's office says the explosion happened when the ignition switch was turned on, and that all three were on board at that time. Law enforcement and rescue personnel were called to the scene around 1:20 p.m. One of the boys had burns on over 50% of his body when he was taken to the hospital, according to the sheriff's office. As of Sunday afternoon, he's in critical condition. The man and his son are in stable condition. The sheriff's office is investigating the cause of the explosion.

Michigan Walmart stabbing spree suspect identified as police seek terrorism, assault charges for rampage
Police on Sunday identified the 42-year-old man accused of wounding 11 people in a random stabbing spree at a Walmart in Michigan. Authorities identified the suspect as Bradford James Gille, of Afton, Michigan, on Sunday afternoon. Police are seeking to file terrorism charges and 11 charges of assault with intent to murder against Gille. Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea noted that Gille has a history of prior assault incidents as well as controlled substance violations. Shea added that a motive for the stabbing was not yet known. Munson Healthcare, northern Michigan's largest healthcare system, said seven victims were in fair condition and four were in serious condition. Victims ranged in age from 29 to 84-years-old. One Walmart employee was injured in the attack, police said.
