Blackburn Rovers told what to expect from 'powerhouse' Lewis Miller
He's a powerhouse, first and foremost. He was originally signed as a 21-year-old right-back from A-League side Macarthur FC, and gradually established himself in the first team under the last two managers. Last season, injury to other centre-backs prompted David Gray to move him into Hibs' back three, as part of a 3-4-1-2 formation.
He has the attributes to play both as a full-back/wing-back and as a centre back. Miller is quick and strong, likes to get forward, and has proven an occasional goal threat. As a centre-back, he can draw on his full-back experience to offer something a little different - namely being comfortable stepping into advanced areas with the ball, underlapping the full-backs or defending out wide. His aggressiveness and recovery pace were key to Hibs' system.
He still has plenty of development to go, however. Concentration was an issue at times, although this improved last season. He can be a little erratic in possession, and has been prone to being caught on the ball in dangerous areas. Under a good coaching team last season, however, he made significant strides, and Gray described him as 'very coachable'.
What is the Hibs fans' view on losing him?
I suspect he might be one of those players whose true value only becomes apparent after they've gone. Miller has split opinion, albeit I'd say the verdict on him by the end of last season was majority positive.
Most supporters probably recognise that given his contract situation, this is the right time to sell. But I think it will become apparent that, despite his inconsistency, Miller's mix of attributes will be difficult to replace, and even his current doubters will soften on him.
Has there been a lot of interest in him this summer?
Yes, I believe that as well as Blackburn, Charlton Athletic were also interested. His physical profile, potential for development, and contract situation will have alerted plenty of clubs.
Do you think a fee of around £1m is fair? Does it represent value for either club?
I think so. Hibs are making a significant profit on a player who they could have lost for nothing in June were it not for the one-year extension option in his contract.
Given he would have been free to sign a pre-contract elsewhere in January, I feel the club will be happy to agree a seven-figure package.
Do you think he'll adapt to the physicality and intensity of the Championship?
Yes. Miller's game is based on his pace and power, so I'd be surprised if he struggled with that side of the game. The Scottish Premiership has its own unique physical demands, and I've seen players coming in the opposite direction from the Championship struggle with it. Miller has other areas to improve on, but he should be able to handle himself physically.
What is his character like from your dealings with him?
He's not short on confidence. Some players shrink a little when they come to speak to the press but Miller had a laidback demeanour and was always happy to chat at length about anything he was asked. You can see that confidence on the pitch, too. He was never afraid of a confrontation or some back and forth with opponents.

Borussia Dortmund and Wolves in talks over Fabio Silva transfer
Borussia Dortmund are in talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers over the proposed permanent transfer of forward Fabio Silva. Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, with Wolves aiming to secure a fee in the region of €20million to €25m (£17.4m to £21.7m at current rates) for their former record signing. Advertisement Silva, 23, joined Wolves from Porto in a £35m move in 2020 but he has spent the last three seasons out on loan at Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and Las Palmas. Dortmund have been looking to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer, and with Sebastien Haller likely to leave the club during the window, they are seeking to provide further competition for striker Serhou Guirassy. Silva scored five goals and provided six assists in 72 appearances across all competitions for Wolves. He spent last summer training away from the first team after falling out of favour, before securing a loan move to Spanish side Las Palmas. The forward scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 24 La Liga appearances, and made his senior Portugal debut in November. His Wolves contract is set to expire in the summer of 2026. Silva would become the latest Wolves departure this summer, with Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Goncalo Guedes, Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia are among those players to have exited Molineux in this window. Wolves have brought in Fer Lopez, Jhon Arias and David Moller Wolfe, while Jorgen Strand Larsen's loan move from Celta Vigo has been made permanent.

'Dinosaur football' or 'professional performance'?
We asked for your views on Hearts' 2-0 win against Aberdeen. Here's what some of you said: Keith: Thoroughly professional performance, looked strong in every department and have a physicality to dig in when required, Derek McInnes has been flawless since his arrival. SJ: Couldn't believe the team selection. Three at the back, two full-backs and no wingers when we're at home? Aimless 40-yard cross-field passes! If their striker hadn't missed that sitter, we'd have been embarrassed. When we changed shape on 75 minutes we looked far better. Harry Milne, Finlay Pollock, Craig Halkett and Oisin McEntee were excellent but Christian Borchgrevink and Blair Spittal are not the answer. Grateful for the three points but I don't think we scared any of the other teams. Jim: Good start in the first half, really good second half. Aberdeen had a good couple of chances from cross balls which was quite alarming considering the height we had at the back but over the piece it was good to see a bit of fight for the second ball. The new signings look good too. Richard: A hard-fought three points and not really until the second went in did we manage the game. Aberdeen huffed and puffed but were really poor in front of goal. Cameron Devlin and McEntee maintained real composure and tenacity in the last 15 to get us over the line comfortably. Every player is coming onto the pitch with drive and ambition to do well. Great first match under the lights. Ray: Good result and new signings look lively and better than what we have. However with the aimless long balls up the park we looked like Scotland at the Euros by passing over the midfield. Likely to be third or fourth, but this dinosaur football is not a good watch, we need a progressive manager. Peter: A very different feeling to this team, dealt well with all they have faced so far. They have a growing confidence, and increasing knowledge of what their teammates are capable of. Goals are coming from many sources and that is very encouraging, especially with Lawrence Shankland in amongst them.
