DETROIT, MICHIGAN - July 1, 2025 ( NEWMEDIAWIRE ) - The game of baseball has gotten a whole lot more interesting for fans around the world. Earlier this year, Sportradar Group AG (NASDAQ: SRAD), a leading global sports technology company that creates immersive experiences for sports fans and bettors, extended and expanded its decade-long partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB).
The new 8-year agreement gives Sportradar the exclusive right to distribute MLB's official real-time data across its global client network, which spans 800 sportsbook clients and 900 media companies, creating a runway to continue to innovate and scale new fan engagement opportunities around the world.
The depth and breadth of MLB's content combined with Sportradar's industry-leading, AI-driven technologies will bring fans closer to the action through new ways to watch the sport and new betting experiences.
What Sportradar's Partnership With MLB Means For Fans
The agreement gives Sportradar the exclusive right to distribute MLB's Statcast data, and audiovisual and media content. The company expects this will result in new betting markets that can be created live and delivered in-game. Beginning with this season that has begun, Sportradar has introduced MLB fans to new in-game betting products, including micro markets and player props.
Micro markets allow sportsbook operators to offer fans betting opportunities up to every 60 seconds, allowing them to make live wagers on specific events that might happen next in a given game.
Player props are essentially proposition betting, a wager on a specific player detail that might occur during a game that isn't directly related to its ultimate outcome, like the number of strikeouts a pitcher might record or total bases a player might achieve in a game.
In addition to these betting opportunities, Sportradar will also collaborate with MLB to create a more immersive, hyper-personalized fan experience. This will come from MLB's dynamic content, including real-time statistics, personalized highlights and MLB Virtual combined with Sportradar's next-generation AI-driven products powered by player tracking data.
The resulting virtual reality experience could allow fans to experience the game as if they were actually at the ballpark but engage with it in more dynamic, interactive ways than if they were sitting in the stands. The combination unlocks the full potential of MLB's data and other content and marries it with Sportradar's industry-leading technologies, says the company.
What MLB Gets From The Deal
Major League Baseball will benefit from Sportradar's reach and product offering across the sports ecosystem. The company distributes data and innovative products to sports books globally. Sportradar's industry-leading network of sportsbook and media clients around the world could significantly impact the distribution of MLB content and help it reach a global audience as well as deepen its fan base in emerging markets such as Latin America, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
Another aspect of the expanded partnership sees Sportradar providing MLB with its Synergy Sports Coaching & Scouting solution. This includes the world's largest game video library, featuring comprehensive sports performance data and analysis for current and future MLB players. and will be available to MLB and all 30 of its member clubs.
To ensure the integrity of baseball, Sportradar will also continue to provide its Universal Fraud Detection System to the league. The system monitors global betting activity and offers MLB both investigative and educational support.
Kenny Gersh, MLB's Executive Vice President, Media & Business Development, said, 'MLB is delighted to continue innovating with Sportradar to create engaging products and services for MLB fans globally.' He went on to say that 'Sportradar has been a great partner to MLB, particularly helping [it] navigate the legalization and continued evolution of the global sports betting landscape.'
As part of the agreement, MLB has acquired an equity stake in Sportradar, further solidifying the partnership between the two organizations and supporting future mutual growth opportunities.
Other U.S. Sports Properties Rely On Sportradar
Gersh's sentiment may be shared by other sports leagues in the United States, as well as around the world. Sportradar holds the rights for three of the top four sports properties in the United States. It has deep relationships with the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and each of its affiliates (WNBA, NBA G-League) as well as NASCAR.
Globally, Sportradar has partnerships with the ATP tennis tour, as well as UEFA, FIFA, the Bundesliga and Conmebol soccer federations
The company believes that this helps cement its status as the top global partner for major sports leagues, and reports that its top sports rights are all locked in for an average of 6 years.
The Bottom Line: MLB Deal Seen As Good For Growth
Sportradar believes the MLB deal gives it a long runway to innovate, grow its product offering
and drive the future of its business.
Sportradar also sees the expansion of its MLB partnership as a long-term inflection point for growth. Carsten Koerl, Sportradar's Chief Executive Officer, said that the deal 'is immediately accretive to our business [and] will drive value for our shareholders as we continue to expand margins and generate strong cash flow.'
Koerl added that the deal represents a new and exciting chapter in its journey with MLB, saying that it's about collaboration, leveraging cutting-edge technology and content and working together to create innovative products that enhance fan engagement and bring fans closer to the game.
Sportradar believes that the deal will unlock new opportunities to reach more sports fans around the globe and help shape the future of sports entertainment.

MLB NL Rookie of the Year Predictions: Odds, expert picks, including Jacob Misiorowski, Burns, Ramirez

The National League Rookie of the Year market is beginning to look like a runaway as Jacob Misiorowski attempts to become a household name. The Milwaukee Brewers rookie pitcher is now listed at -180 at DraftKings Sportsbook after being +1700 prior to his first start. Since June 12, Misiorowski's odds have moved from +1700 to +1100 to +300 to +150 to -110 to -190 and in that span — it's clear that no one else has shined the way he has. Make sure you follow Rotoworld Player News for the latest fantasy and betting player news and analysis all season long. National League Rookie of the Year: Jacob Misiorowski (-180) There is an influx of new generational talent coming up the MLB pipeline from players capable of stealing bases at record rates like Chandler Simpson of the Rays or Paul Skenes starting the All-Star game as a rookie last year for the Pirates — the next in line for stardom is Jacob Misiorowski. In his first three career starts, Misiorowski (-180) has totaled 16.0 innings pitched, 3 wins to 0 losses, 3 hits allowed, 2 earned runs allowed (1.13 ERA), and 19 strikeouts to 7 walks. Misiorowski walked four in his debut start against St. Louis but walked three and struck out 14 over the next two starts. In his MLB debut against the Cardinals, Misiorowski made an immediate impact throwing 100+ MPH pitches in his first three pitches and 11 of his first 24. He recorded the fastest pitch of any Brewer in the statcast era dating back to 2008, plus recorded a no-hitter through 5.0 innings. The 23-year-old is a star. Misiorowski's latest rise came when he went head-to-head with Paul Skenes and the Pirates. It was a sight and very hyped game as these could be two of the best pitchers over the next five to ten years. Skenes is 6-foot-3 and 260 lbs, in other words a tank, while Misiorowski is 6-foot-7 and 197 lbs — a slender assassin. Milwaukee was victorious against Pittsburgh, 4-2, and Misiorowski dominated for his third straight win. Misiorowski went five strong scoreless innings on 74 pitches with eight strikeouts, two walks, and two hits allowed. While Skenes dominated last year and was the talk of the rookie pitching class, it's clear that Misiorowski is the 2025 version. At anything below -250 (DraftKings has -180), Misiorowski is a play because the award is his to lose. If you're looking for more key trends and stats around the spread, moneyline and total for every single game on the schedule today, check out our MLB Top Trends tool on NBC Sports! Cincinnati's Chase Burns (+2500) appeared to be Misiorowski's biggest competition after his MLB debut consisted of eight strikeouts over 5.0 innings against the Yankees, including five of the first six batters. However, Burns could not get out the first inning (0.1 IP) in his next start, on the road at St. Louis. Burns allowed five earned runs (seven runs overall), five hits, two walks and one homer. We can't trust that, so I will pass on Burns. Atlanta's Drake Baldwin (+450) is now second in terms of odds, but has gone cold recently. Baldwin is hitless over the last four games (9 AB) and hitting 0.83 over the past seven days (12 AB). In the last 30 days, Baldwin is hitting .186 with 14 strikeouts to 10 walks, plus 11 hits, 11 RBI, and four homers. Overall, a .273 batting average, 9 home runs and 26 RBI through 57 games isn't anything to hang your head on, but I don't think it will be enough to hang with Misiorowski. Miami's Agustin Ramirez (+1300) has watched his odds decrease in the past week despite Miami's eight-game winning streak. Ramirez is hitting .252 with 12 homers and 33 RBI through 59 games this season and even been hot over the last week with a .417 batting average (24 AB), 10 hits and 6 RBI. If there was another bet to make in this market, it's Ramirez, but something is fishy for him to be playing well and seeing his odds move from +450 to +1300. Keep an eye on Ramirez because he may be the main hedge in this market. Rotoworld still has you covered with all the latest MLB player news for all 30 teams. Check out the feed page right here on NBC Sports for headlines, injuries and transactions where you can filter by league, team, positions and news type! Pittsburgh's Bubba Chandler (+7000) was another player to keep an eye on for NL Rookie of the Year, but his big league debut will be delayed even further after six earned runs allowed over 2.2 innings in his most recent Triple-A start. Chandler was expected to make a debut in May or early June this season, but his struggles have prevented that. Misiorowski's teammates Chad Patrick (+3000) and Isaac Collins (+2500) have made strides in this market, but sharing the spotlight won't earn either many first place votes. The Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim (+2500) is another contender because of his .369 batting average on 31 hits through 38 games, but the sample size is still relatively low. Kim has two homers, seven stolen bags, 12 RBI, 16 runs scored, and 19 strikeouts to five walks, so there isn't a lot of encouragement there outside the batting average. It's obvious that Misiorowski is the play. I already played Misiorowski at +1100 and -110 odds and gave those out here at NBC, so if you haven't bet on him already, you are running out of time. Get involved with Misiorowski one way or another for NL Rookie of the Year as it's his award to lose. Pick: Jacob Misiorowski to win NL Rookie of the Year (Total of 1.5 units risked) Want even more MLB best bets and predictions from our expert staff & tools? Futures inch higher as investors eye trade deals, payrolls data

(Reuters) -Wall Street stock index futures edged higher on Wednesday, as investors monitored U.S. trade negotiations ahead of President Donald Trump's July 9 deadline and looked ahead to payrolls data for clues on the monetary policy path. The Nasdaq and the S&P 500 closed lower in the previous session, pausing after a record run that was driven by optimism over the U.S. striking trade deals with its key partners and by expectations of deeper interest-rate cuts. Trump said on Tuesday he was not thinking of extending the July 9 deadline for imposing tariffs and cast doubts that an agreement could be reached with Japan, although he expects a deal with India. The European Union's trade chief is expected to hold talks this week with peers in Washington. Tech stocks came under selling pressure a day earlier, as Treasury yields climbed after data showed stronger-than-expected job openings in May, signaling a resilient labor market and confirming the Federal Reserve's stance of being patient on cutting interest rates. Focus is now on the monthly non-farm payrolls report, due on Thursday, as markets are closed on Friday for Independence Day. The data is expected to show U.S. job growth cooled in June and the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.3%, per a Reuters poll of economists. ADP's private payrolls data for June is due at 08:15 a.m. ET. Meanwhile, U.S. Senate Republicans passed Trump's massive tax-and-spending bill on Tuesday by the narrowest of margins, advancing a package that would slash taxes, reduce social safety net programs and boost military and immigration enforcement spending while adding $3.3 trillion to the national debt. The legislation now heads to the House of Representatives for possible final approval, though a handful of Republicans have already voiced opposition to some of the Senate provisions. By 5:53 a.m. ET (0953 GMT), S&P 500 e-minis were up 8.5 points, or 0.14%. Nasdaq 100 e-minis climbed 22.5 points, or 0.1%, and Dow e-minis added 72 points, or 0.16%. The blue-chip Dow closed 1.3% below its record high touched in December. Among single stocks, Centene tumbled 26.6% premarket after the health insurer said it had withdrawn its 2025 earnings forecast after data showed a significant drop in expected revenue from its marketplace health insurance plans. Shares of peers including Elevance Health and UnitedHealth dipped 3.8% and 1.2%, respectively. U.S. banking giants including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo edged up after they announced plans to raise their third-quarter dividends after clearing the Fed's annual health check last week. Verint Systems soared 12.7% after Bloomberg News reported buyout firm Thoma Bravo was in talks to buy the call-center software maker.

These 3 Stocks Have Been the Worst Performers in the S&P 500 This Year. Have They Bottomed Out?

The S&P 500 has recovered from a tough start to 2025, but the stocks listed here are all down more than 35%. These companies have promising long-term growth prospects, but have all faced concerning headwinds recently. 10 stocks we like better than UnitedHealth Group › The threat of tariffs and trade wars sank many stocks back in April, but the market managed a sharp turnaround since then, reminiscent of the brief pandemic crash five years earlier. Many stocks are now trading near their all-time highs, and so is the S&P 500, which is up around 5.5% through the first six months of the year. That's a big rebound given that it was down as much as 15.3% at one point. But some stocks haven't felt that bullishness. The three biggest losers in the index at the halfway point of the year are Deckers Outdoor (NYSE: DECK), Enphase Energy (NASDAQ: ENPH), and UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH). Here's a look at how much these stocks were down as of the end of June, why they've been struggling, and whether they're good buys right now. Despite generating decent growth numbers this year, footwear company Deckers Outdoor is the S&P 500's worst performer at the halfway mark of 2025. In May, the company wrapped up its 2025 fiscal year (it ended on March 31). Sales rose by 16% year over year, to a shade under $5 billion. Its diluted per-share profit also rose by 30% to $6.33. Investors, however, are concerned with what lies ahead for the business due to tariffs and trade policies. And that uncertainty is why Deckers, which imports many products from other countries, didn't provide full-year guidance for its new fiscal year. Discretionary spending has been under pressure due to economic uncertainty, and that could also be bad news for a growth stock like Deckers. The stock currently trades at 17 times its estimated future profits (based on analyst expectations), which is well below the S&P 500 average of 23. With a good margin of safety, Deckers could make for a solid contrarian buy right now. It may require some patience, and it may still go lower, but with some quality brands in Ugg and Hoka, the stock should be able to recover in the long haul. The S&P 500's second-worst stock this year has been Enphase Energy. The solar energy company sells microinverters and batteries, but with uncertainty around the fate of solar tax credits, investors have been dumping the stock in droves this year. The company reported net revenue totaling $356.1 million through the first three months of 2025, which was an increase of 35% from the prior-year period. Given the long-term need for more sustainable and renewable energy options, Enphase should be able to benefit from those trends in the long run, resulting in even more growth in the future. The business is well funded with more than $1.5 billion in cash and marketable securities on its books as of the end of March. And with positive operating cash flow, the business is already in good shape right now. At a relatively modest market cap of just over $5 billion, Enphase could have a lot of room to rise higher in the years ahead. It may be a volatile path ahead for the business, and I wouldn't rule out more of a decline for the stock, but if you're willing to hang on for the long haul, this could make for an underrated investment to buy and hold. Healthcare giant UnitedHealth Group has plummeted nearly 40% in value this year as rising costs and reported investigations involving the Department of Justice into its billing practices have made investors think twice about owning this once-safe dividend stock. The company missed expectations in its most recent quarter, and also pulled its guidance for the year amid a change in its CEO. Andrew Witty has stepped aside, and the company's former CEO, Stephen Hemsley, is now back in charge. When it rains, it pours, and that's certainly been the case with UnitedHealth Group as the business has taken a beating with bad news after bad news coming out in recent months. But investors shouldn't forget that this company has still generated more than $410 billion in revenue over its past four quarters. And while costs are elevated, it has still amassed more than $22 billion in earnings during that stretch. At a forward earnings multiple of only 13, the stock can be a steal of a deal for long-term investors as UnitedHealth plays a valuable role in the healthcare industry, and it's likely to continue growing in the long haul. And you can collect an above-average yield of 2.9% while you wait for the stock to recover, as it may not have bottomed out just yet.
