CM Dhami instruct to start 'Operation Kalanemi' to arrest the impersonator acting as saint and cheating people
The Chief Minister said that many such cases have come to light in the state where anti-social elements are cheating people, especially women, by disguising themselves as saints. This is not only hurting the religious sentiments of the people, but also harming the image of social harmony and Sanatan tradition. In such a situation, if a person of any religion is found doing such acts, then strict action will be taken against him.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also said that just as the demon Kalanemi had tried to mislead by disguising himself as a saint, similarly, many 'Kalanemi' are active in the society today who are committing crimes in religious guise. Our government is fully committed to protecting public sentiments, the dignity of Sanatan culture and maintaining social harmony. Those who spread hypocrisy in the name of faith will not be spared under any circumstances.
Earlier, the Chief Minister held a review meeting at his official residence to oversee preparations for the upcoming 1 lakh crore grounding ceremony in Rudrapur. He instructed officials to complete all arrangements and emphasised the importance of making the event grand and impactful, as it marks a significant step in the state's industrial development.
The Chief Minister said that the arrival of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah as the chief guest in this grand event is a matter of great pride and inspiration for all the people of Uttarakhand.He also added that this event will give new direction and momentum to the industrial future of the state, which will create immense employment opportunities for the youth of Uttarakhand, encourage local entrepreneurship and open new doors of economic prosperity of the state.
He also shared that Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a record 3.5 lakh crore were signed during the Global Investors Summit, out of which projects worth 1 lakh crore have now reached the grounding stage.
Several senior officials attended the meeting, including Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, and Managing Director (Industries) Saurabh Gaharwar. (ANI)

Women villagers on outskirts of Bengaluru seek police help over liquor shop menace
Villagers of Rajaghatta, especially women, raised concerns over what they called rampant sale of liquor, and claimed that it is destroying families by pushing their husbands into addiction and joblessness. They sought police help to contain the menace. The issue was brought up during the SC/ST grievance meet organised by the Bengaluru district police along with 'Mane Manege Police' (door-to-door police service) on Sunday. Lakshmamma, one of the villagers, who spoke on behalf of other women in the locality, told Superintendent of Police C.K. Baba that the liquor shops in the area open at 6 a.m., and operate till midnight or beyond . 'This is posing a threat to the families, as the men get drunk early in the morning and do not go to work. Most of the families face a difficult situation due to the alcohol menace and it is pushing them into penury. Even grocery and vegetable shops have started stocking up liquor, making them accessible round the clock,' she said. Mr. Baba summoned the excise department officials to ensure that the liquor shops should adhere to the time specified in the licensing condition. The department and the jurisdictional police have also been asked to conduct regular checks on the illegal sale of liquor at the shops. Meanwhile, a few students present at the meeting complained of being humiliated at schools as they were ridiculed by their friends and classmates for their caste. 'We were mocked and called casteist names. The teachers and village elders are not doing anything despite being aware of this situation,' a student told senior police officers. Taking strong objection, Mr. Baba asked the Panchayat Development officer, and officials of the education department present at the meeting to take immediate action and ensure such practices are not repeated. The police later visited Dalit colonies and pasted stickers containing the names and numbers of police officers to be contacted in any eventuality with the intention of instilling confidence among the general public that the police are at their service. Mr. Baba, along with other officials also had lunch with the villagers. The villagers were urged to help the police force in fighting crime and maintaining law and order.

Delhi Driver Kills Colleague For Refusing To Give Loan, Dumps Body In Tank
A 42-year-old man, Sita Ram, was allegedly beaten to death by his colleague Chandra Prakash at a farmhouse in Delhi's Chhattarpur after refusing to lend him Rs 10,000. A 42-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his colleague at a farmhouse in Delhi's Chhattarpur after refusing to lend him Rs 10,000, officials said on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Chandra Prakash (47), who worked as a driver at the same farmhouse, and was arrested from Palam in southwest Delhi, he said. Police reported that a missing person complaint was filed at Mehrauli Police Station on July 26 for Sita Ram, a native of Uttar Pradesh. News agency PTI quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan as saying in a statement, 'Sita Ram had been a domestic worker at a private farmhouse in Chhattarpur for the past 10 years and was staying alone at the premises because the owner was out of town." The authorities were alerted when domestic staff discovered that the main doors of the farmhouse were open and Sita Ram was missing. After receiving the complaint, a team from the Mehrauli Police Station initiated a search operation. During this search, his body was found in the septic tank located within the farmhouse, said the DCP. The crime and forensic teams were immediately called to the scene, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination. 'Based on initial findings, a case was registered on Sunday under Sections 103(1) (murder) and 238(a) (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Mehrauli," said the officer. The investigation team started reviewing CCTV footage, mobile data records, and statements from other workers. During the investigation, it was discovered that Chandra Prakash, the farmhouse owner's driver of seven years, was missing from the scene. The officer said, 'Using technical surveillance and tips from local sources, police tracked Chandra Prakash's location to Palam in Delhi, where he was apprehended." Upon sustained interrogation, Chandra Prakash confessed to the crime. 'He disclosed that he had requested Rs 10,000 from Sita Ram, but when the latter refused, a heated argument broke out between the two. In a fit of rage, he picked up a hammer and struck Sita Ram on the head, killing him," said the officer, adding that to hide the crime, the accused dumped the body into the septic tank and fled the scene. The murder weapon was recovered from the premises based on Chandra Prakash's confession, and the investigation is ongoing to determine if others were involved or had prior knowledge of the incident. Chandra Prakash, a native of Pantgaon village in Almora district, Uttarakhand, lived in Chhattarpur and worked as a driver at the farmhouse. Several locals expressed their shock at his death, recalling Sita Ram as a helpful man with a good nature. 'I work in another farmhouse and I have known Sita Ram for the last two years. He was a good man and was very helpful," a local worker said. He claimed that Chandra Prakash initially told the farmhouse owner about Sita Ram's disappearance, leading the owner to contact the police.
