The viral £12 tiny fan that's quite literally saved my life this summer - and other hand-held fans you NEED as temperatures continue to soar in the UK
Being a hot and sweaty person is not only inconvenient, it makes life unbelievably miserable.
Over the years, I've tried almost everything to - literally and metaphorically - keep my cool in summer. From ice water and coffee to cool clothes and even bringing ice packs on the train - these either didn't work or were too much of a nuisance to carry around.
I have the powerful Shark TurboBlade fan at home, but could never find something good enough for travelling.
As soon as temperatures creep above 20C, I start to worry about how I'm going to keep cool, especially on public transport and at the office.
I've tried handheld fans before but always found they weren't effective and ran out of battery in a few hours, leaving me hot and uncomfortable.
That was until I discovered this lightweight handheld fan from John Lewis, which was recommended to me by a friend who could see I was suffering in the sun.
After trying it out, I immediately went online and bought myself two in different colours and after using them almost every day for the past two months, I can safely say I will be buying more.
I'm not the only one this has made an impression on either. The ANYDAY fan currently has over 2,000 five-star reviews on the John Lewis website. It comes in four colours: White, Sage, Lake Blue and Sunburn

The John Lewis fan is without a doubt my top handheld pick, but if you're looking for something slightly different these similarly powerful handheld fans have received rave reviews online.

Dakota Johnson wows in plunging strapless dress for prize-winning night at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival as her European trip continues after Chris Martin split
Dakota Johnson slipped into a plunging strapless dress which showed off her supermodel figure as she received the KVIFF President's Award on Saturday. The 35-year-old American actress looked glam for the occasion in a sleek LBD on the red carpet, held at the Spa Hotel Thermal in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. She showcased her incredible physique in a body con maxi dress, with a pair of simple black heels for the occasion. Dakota - who recently celebrated July 4th on a yacht in Ibiza with pals Sofia Vergara and Kate Hudson - accessorised with an emerald necklace, matching cross earrings and an elegant pearl bracelet. The Fifty Shades of Grey star was in good spirits as she proudly help up her new trophy. Dakota was presented with the special award ahead of a screening of her new film, which was written and directed by and also stars Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans. In her brief thank you speech, the star thanked the audience in Czech to the joy of the crowd. She then expressed her gratitude for being invited to the event. Dakota said: 'This looks like Disneyland. It's crazy here. It's so beautiful. And I just couldn't feel more grateful.' Earlier this week, Dakota put on a flirty exchange with a mystery man as she spent time on a star-studded yacht. She has been enjoying her new single life following her split from Chris Martin. The actress was joined by other celebrities on the spacious boat, including BFF Kate Hudson and Tom Brady. At one point during the relaxing day, the beauty was seen resting under a shady area on the yacht as she conversed with another guest. The mystery man - who went shirtless and wrapped a towel around his waist - approached the star as she flashed a small smile on her face. Dakota was then seen placing her hand on his muscular bicep before he took a seat next to the Hollywood actress. The pair were later spotted spending time at another side of the yacht as the star made her way up a set of stairs. Johnson wowed wearing a skimpy black bikini top as well as matching drawstring bottoms. Last month in June, it was reported that the Hollywood actress and Coldplay frontman had officially called it quits after eight years of dating. A source told at the time: 'Their relationship has been over for a long time, they just haven't been able to figure out to make it official.

Wayne Rooney 'lands £800,000 BBC deal to be Match of the Day regular' with ex-England captain seemingly set to focus on media over management
Wayne Rooney looks set to swap the dugout for the studio, with a report claiming the former England captain has landed a lucrative deal to become a regular pundit on Match of the Day. The 39-year-old has been out of management since leaving Plymouth Argyle by mutual consent on New Year's Eve after a challenging seven-month spell in charge. It was his fourth managerial role in as many years, following stints with Derby County, DC United and Birmingham City. Rooney has made no secret of his enjoyment of punditry since stepping back from coaching, appearing on Amazon Prime Video for Champions League coverage and joining the BBC as a guest on Match of the Day. Speaking to talkSPORT last month, he appeared to hint that his immediate future would involve more media work than management. He told the radio station: 'Obviously just doing some TV work at the minute, so that's what I'm doing. I'm enjoying it. So, that's where I'll be.' According to The Sun, Rooney will earn £800,000 over two years with the BBC and is set to be unveiled later this month after impressing during his guest appearances. The deal apparently also includes a role in the broadcaster's coverage of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, plus the option of a further two-year extension. Rooney's imminent arrival comes as Match of the Day moves into a new era following Gary Lineker's departure, with the BBC looking to refresh its punditry team alongside presenters Kelly Cates, Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan. Insiders are said to have described Rooney as 'warm, witty and forensically knowledgeable', with his insight seen as a valuable addition as the show adapts in the streaming age. Rooney's move also comes as wife Coleen continues to expand her own media profile, having reportedly signed a £10million deal with Disney for a family documentary featuring the couple and their four sons.
