Jeff Bezos needed a Tequila fix—Venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya sent a plane FULL of it to Venice

The Jeff Bezos-Lauren Sanchez wedding gained an extra splash of luxury thanks to Chamath Palihapitiya, the Canadian-American venture capitalist. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday (June 29), Palihapitiya revealed Amazon founder Bezos requested a last-minute shipment of ultra-premium tequila. 'I sent my plane with a case of our tequila to Venice as a wedding present,' Palihapitiya wrote. The brand, newly launched June 21 in Los Angeles, retails for $1,200 per bottle and features bottles shaped like poker chips. The limited edition sold out within hours. Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez capped a star-studded, three-day wedding celebration in Venice that drew global headlines—not only for its celebrity guest list but also for sparking protests over wealth and environmental concerns. Jeff Bezos, 61, world's fourth-richest man, married former news anchor Lauren Sanchez, 55, in a private ceremony on Friday (June 27) inside a 16th-century basilica on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The festivities began on Thursday with a welcome event at Madonna dell'Orto, continued with Friday's formal vows, and concluded on Saturday night with a dance party headlined by Usher. About 200 VIP guests attended, including Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Orlando Bloom, Bill Gates, Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, and the Kardashian-Jenner family. While celebrities gathered for the opulent celebration, hundreds of Venetians and activists marched through the city's narrow streets carrying banners reading 'Kisses Yes, Bezos No' and 'No Bezos, No War.' Protesters condemned the wedding as a symbol of the deepening divide between the wealthy elite and ordinary residents grappling with skyrocketing housing costs, overtourism, and the threat of climate-driven flooding. Organisers claimed a partial victory when security concerns prompted a last-minute change of venue for the final party—from central Venice to the medieval Arsenale shipyard. Bezos donated €1 million ($1.17 million) each to three environmental research organisations working to protect Venice's fragile lagoon. The Venetian association Corila confirmed the donations. However, protesters dismissed the gesture as an attempt to 'appease angry residents.' Bezos and Sanchez confirmed their engagement in May 2023, several years after going public with their relationship. Their wedding capped a whirlwind romance sealed in one of Europe's most iconic cities, amid both lavish celebration and criticism.

MrBeast's ‘Working 15 Hours A Day' Post Gets A Health Warning From Bryan Johnson

Last Updated: The YouTuber took to his X handle and shared how he has been working longer hours to create the "greatest content." Content creation is not easy, and MrBeast is showing why. The YouTube sensation, whose real name is Jamie Donaldson, recently opened up about his intense working hours, stretching it as much as 15 hours a day by sacrificing his sleep and working around the clock. Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Sunday, MrBeast spoke about his hectic days of work, describing that this video is among the greatest content of his life. 'I'm probably averaging 15 hours a day of filming this month and getting less sleep than I ever have in my life (I didn't even get to go to bed last night ) BUT my god these videos are the greatest content I've ever filmed," the YouTuber wrote on X. I'm probably averaging 15 hours a day of filming this month and getting less sleep than I ever have in my life (I didn't even get to go to bed last night The post clearly didn't go unnoticed as it clocked millions of views and comments from fans. However, not everyone was applauding. While many of his followers were seen admiring his hard work, some also voiced their concerns. Among them was anti-ageing entrepreneur Brian Johnson, who asked the YouTuber to take care of himself. 'Jimmy, in time, you'll transition into making content, battling the ideas of society. Be sure to properly nourish yourself now so that you're sufficiently vibrant and durable then," Johnson wrote in the comments. Another added, 'Late nights, early mornings, and countless editing sessions are the foundation of success. Keep pushing, because every ounce of effort you put in is getting you closer to where you want to be." A user cited a personal example to highlight the importance of self-care and wrote, 'Yeah, my first husband always said, 'there's plenty of time for sleep in the grave, ' while he chased the dollar. Ironically, that's where he is, and he left 4 young kids. Take care of yourself. No one else can." Yea my first husband always said "there's plenty of time for sleep in the grave" while he chased the dollar. Ironically that's where he is & he left 4 young kids. Take care of yourself. No one else can. — Jeri Lynn Simpson (@DreamerJeri) June 29, 2025 This is not the first time that Bryan Johnson has schooled someone about overworking. Earlier this year, the anti-ageing influencer was seen calling out an Indian tech CEO, Karan Kaushik, for praising an employee who spent three back-to-back nights in the office. 'When you step into the office and your founding AI engineer is on his 3rd all-nighter. This team never stops shipping," the CEO wrote on X. 3 all nighters = impaired glucose metabolism, elevated cortisol, reduced BDNF, increased IL-6, shortened telomeres, cognitive decline, suppressed immunity, and cardiovascular strain. Shipping death.— Bryan Johnson (@bryan_johnson) April 13, 2025 In a quick response, Johnson explained how working schedules could lead to impaired glucose metabolism, elevated cortisol, reduced BDNF, increased IL-6, shortened telomeres, cognitive decline, suppressed immunity and cardiovascular strain.
