#SHOWBIZ: Aslam to apologise to Abby Abadi to end family crisis

KUALA LUMPUR: The controversial marriage between actress Marissa Dania Hakim and Ahmad Aslam continues to draw attention, with Aslam expressing his desire to formally apologise to his mother-in-law, Abby Abadi, to resolve the lingering family issues.
Aslam, who married Marissa in Songkhla, Thailand, on Dec 27, 2023, acknowledged that the situation stemmed from his actions.
The marriage took place without the knowledge of his first wife, Umisya Mazlan, who was performing Umrah at the time, or Marissa's parents, actors Norman Hakim and Abby.
"I realise and admit my mistakes. So, I ask all parties not to make the situation worse.
"I am also a normal human being; I make mistakes and try to improve myself, God willing," Aslam told BH Online.
Following the marriage, Abby had expressed surprise when asked to apologise to Aslam's first wife, Umisya.
Instead, she called on Aslam to apologise to her.
Aslam stated his intentions to meet Abby, saying, "I do have plans to meet her, God willing, when I have time. I am also looking for a suitable time to meet her."
Meanwhile, Aslam and Marissa appeared at the Federal Territory Syariah Court here for confirmation proceedings regarding their marriage today.
However, the court adjourned the proceedings, citing technical issues with the application form.
"There was a slight problem regarding personal information in the confirmation of overseas marriage application form, so we were asked to update our personal information and come back on another date," Aslam said.
Aslam and Umisya were married in July 2020 and have three children: Hud, 4, Nuh, 3, and a two-month-old daughter.
Aslam and Marissa do not have children yet.

Bella Astillah sheds tears of joy over court's decision to acquit Syed Saddiq

Bella Astillah (far right) is relieved with the Court of Appeal's decision to acquit Syed Saddiq (second from left) of all charges in the RM1.2mil graft case involving funds from Armada Bersatu. Photo: mStar Malaysian actress Bella Astillah was seen tearing up with joy at the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya on Wednesday (June 25) after Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was acquitted of all four charges in the RM1.2mil graft case involving funds from Armada Bersatu. Bella – who arrived at the Palace of Justice around 8am to show her support for Syed Saddiq, 32 – described the verdict as a 'deserved win' for the Muar MP. 'He's an honest, genuine and brave person who does everything with a sincere heart. Maybe this is a form of repayment for all the good he has done,' the 31-year-old actress told mStar, The Star 's Malay-language news portal. Bella, whose full name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, also said she won't be commenting further on her connection with Syed Saddiq. 'I'm handing all my future plans to Allah SWT. If it's fated, then Alhamdulillah. I'm a woman. It's not sweet to share my plans for the future. Just pray for the best,' she said. Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq told reporters that he has no plans to 'move to the next phase' with Bella. The former Youth and Sports Minister said his current priority is to spend time with his family, adding: 'I just want to bring my mum, dad and family members out for a meal.' When asked if Bella would be joining for the meal, Syed Saddiq simply smiled and declined to comment. For the record, Bella and Syed Saddiq sparked romance rumours earlier this year after appearing together in a Hari Raya Aidilfitri campaign for a local fashion label. He was also photographed accompanying Bella at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang in March as she prepared to perform Umrah in the Holy Land. Bella was previously married to Singaporean artiste Aliff Aziz, with whom she shares two kids. The former couple first divorced in 2019 after Aliff, 34, was hit with cheating allegations but reconciled in 2020. They divorced for the second time on June 13 last year.

#SHOWBIZ: Spring guitarist Iskandar passes away in Miri

KUALA LUMPUR: Tengku Raden Iskandar Tengku Ismail, better known as Iskandar Spring, the talented guitarist from the popular rock band Spring, sadly passed away at his residence in Miri, Sarawak, at approximately 1am this morning. He was 53. Ayob Abd Majid, Vice Chairman of Music Malaysia, confirmed the news, stating his association was informed by Iskandar's wife, Nur Hidayah Cecilia. "I was informed that Iskandar died at 1am this morning in Miri. I immediately informed Ameng Spring's wife, Sabariah, who then contacted Cecilia. His body is currently being prepared at the mosque," Ayob told BH Online. "He had been suffering from a stroke and kidney failure for a long time." Attempts by BH Online to reach Cecilia for comment were unsuccessful. Ayob remembered Iskandar as not just a gifted musician and one of Spring's co-founders, but also a dear friend and "comrade-in-arms." "We used to work closely when we were at Sony Music, where Spring was under my care at the time. Our relationship wasn't just professional; it was also full of friendship and mutual respect," he shared. "I've been saddened to follow the progress of his health, where he suffered from a stroke and kidney failure, before he moved to his wife's village in Miri. The last time we were in touch was when I delivered a donation to him. Even during that difficult period, his voice remained calm, patient, and full of gratitude." Ayob added that Iskandar was never forgotten by his fellow artists. "We at Konsortium Irama, together with PJ Art Lane, Ameng Spring, and Umarul Iklim, once organised a special charity programme to help ease his burden when he was ill. The programme wasn't just a fundraiser; it was a symbol of love and loyalty within the country's arts scene. His passing is a great loss for the Malaysian music world." "However, his legacy, rhythm, spirit, and friendship will continue to be remembered. May Allah forgive all his sins, accept his good deeds, and place his soul among the righteous," he said. Previously, it was reported that Iskandar had been paralysed and was suffering from various chronic illnesses, including diabetes and speech difficulties. He also required regular dialysis due to kidney complications, which left him unable to work and without a source of income.
