Anne Burrell 'struggled' with fame before her shocking death as insider reveals she 'wasn't happy'
She was sadly found dead in her home earlier this week, and speculation about the circumstances of her death is rampant.
Anne reportedly suffered cardiac arrest, and her body was surrounded by pills.
Now, a friend of hers is opening up about Anne's larger-than-life personality and what her plans were at the time of her death.
'She made everything fun. She was a true force of nature,' a friend of Burrell's told Page Six.
'Her personality was so big,' they said, noting that there was a dark side to her fame.
Anne rose to fame on the Food Network alongside Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri but for her, that spotlight cast a long shadow.
'I know she kind of struggled — once she was on TV and was on her way to be a TV celebrity chef,' the friend told Page Six.
'She was famous, she was doing the food and wine circuit stuff. She was busy — I kind of felt like she wasn't totally happy,' the friend added.
'People with big personalities sometimes mask things.'
Anne had plans to expand her horizons and try her hand at acting and was even taking improv classes before her tragic passing at 55.
She appeared on Tori Spelling's Misspelling podcast back in March and said: 'Interestingly, I just started taking acting classes. I started yesterday, actually... It's like an improv for actors' class.
'I got there and it's like eight people in the class. I'm the oldest one. Every other person has like, "Oh, I have a master's in fine arts in theater."'
Burrell showed off her self-awareness and sense of humor that her fans were familiar with as she joked about the age gap between she and her fellow students.
Now a friend of hers is opening up about Anne's larger than life personality and what her plans were at the time of her death
She said: 'I'm like, "okay, I've never taken an acting class. I don't know, this is new to me."
'I wonder if these delightful and super talented kids look at me and they're like, "What's this old lady doing here?"'
The television personality had taken a break from her show Worst Cooks In America for season 28 which baffled many fans and Spelling, 52, asked at the time what led her to that decision.
Burrell answered: 'I can cook, yes, I can do TV, but also, what else? I've got more to do in my life, I feel like.'
She also admitted that she was just 'dipping my toe' when it came to the pivot to acting.
Burrell explained: 'I feel very excited about it. I've got a few other things that I'm working on as well, which I'm not quite ready to share yet. Hopefully, exciting [are] things coming.'

Shaquille O'Neal shoots gang rival dead as he films new TV show
Shaquille O'Neal has gone viral after showing off his 'shooting' skills - but not the type of 'shooting' that you'd expect from the NBA legend. The former Los Angeles Lakers star was spotted on set for TV show 'Gravesend', in footage obtained by TMZ, in yet another career venture away from basketball. In a clip captured by the outlet, O'Neal - who was dressed like a mob boss - was seen turning a corner, brandishing a gun and firing shots at a man laying on the ground. It goes without saying that the NBA legend didn't fire real shots at his fellow actor and instead, in the clip, a 'click' sound could be heard as he pulled the trigger. The man on the ground could be heard shouting expletives towards O'Neal before the former Laker ruthlessly shot his gang rival in the show. The outlet claim that O'Neal will be taking on the character of 'Mustafa' in the hit series, which has entered it's third season. He landed the role after telling director William DeMeo about his love for the show's first two seasons and is set to become a regular feature. The show centers around a Brooklyn based Italian-American, soldier in the Colezzo crime family who has to deal with a cousin who is the leader of a criminal organization in Gravesend. In another clip, O'Neal was seen in a far less intense setting, as he spoke with a fellow mob boss on a pier. NBA Hall of Famer O'Neal, 53, has kept busy in retirement as an analyst on TNT's Inside the NBA - but took up a surprise new role back in April. The Lakers icon accepted a voluntary role as the general manager of Sacramento State's men's basketball team, the Daily Mail confirmed.

Inside Brittany Mahomes' astronomically priced jewelry collection that features dazzling tie to Patrick
Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is no stranger to wearing extravagant game day outfits - and she has a jewelry collection that's worth nearly $200,000 to match. The 29-year-old is perhaps one of the most well-known WAGs in the NFL, even getting close to Taylor Swift over the past few years as her husband is teammates with the A-lister's boyfriend, Travis Kelce. In the past, she has made headlines for the elaborate, Chiefs-themed outfits she wears to games as she cheers on her high school sweetheart from the sidelines. In 2024, she and Swift even rocked matching custom Chiefs puffer coats designed by San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk's wife, Kristin Juszczyk, who now has her own collection in partnership with the NFL. But while she wears glamorous outfits, she also seems to have a penchant for fine jewelry, especially favoring Van Cleef and & Arpels, a brand she can be seen wearing in several photos on Instagram. While celebrating the Fourth of July this weekend with her husband and their friends, Brittany accessorized her bright blue cut-out bathing suit with a $65,000, 10-motif, white gold and diamond necklace from Van Cleef. The necklace featured the brand's signature Alhambra pendants. For the holiday, which they celebrated on a boat, she paired the pricey jewels with a casual white button-down with red and blue stars on it, along with a trucker hat that read '1995.' Of course, as a fan of the brand, the 10-motif designer necklace isn't the only thing she has from the high jewelry designer. She also owns the one-motif version of the white gold and diamond necklace, which retails for $8,950. The mom-of-three paired the necklace with a chic stack with a strapless red leather bustier when the Chiefs won the 2024 Super Bowl. Brittany has often been seen wearing the five-motif vintage Alhambra bracelet in 18k yellow gold around her wrist, which retails for $6,850. She rocked the bracelet on gameday in September when the Chiefs faced the Cincinnati Bengals, and paired with a casual, oversized Chiefs tee when they played the Detroit Lions in August last year. It's also a piece that she also seems to wear in everyday life, whether that be enjoying a cocktail in Las Vegas or on vacation with Patrick and their kids. Aside from Van Cleef & Arpels, Brittany has a lot of other jewelry pieces by various designers in her collection. She has appeared to wear a few bracelets from Cartier in the past, including the $8,550 white gold Juste un Clou, and the $30,400 white gold paved small Love bracelet. Brittany wore her Cartier stack to the 2023 ESPY awards, which looked elegant with a black Versace cutout dress and elaborate, curled updo. The Sports Illustrated model will also rock lab diamonds on occasion, as she did while watching her husband in this year's Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. She sported a $73,000 necklace diamond necklace from Vrai, which she wore with a white corset with jacket and jeans. Brittany also wore a large, diamond-encrusted '15' necklace created by Simon G Fine Jewelry while watching the Chiefs defeat the 49ers at last year's Super Bowl - her husband's jersey number. But not all of her jewelry costs a pretty penny - the mom-of-three also owns one bubble-letter style pendant from affordable brand BaubleBar, something she sported in a photo op with Taylor Swift during an early October game. Her recent Fourth of July celebration comes just weeks after she penned an emotional tribute to Patrick on Father's Day in June. She has appeared to wear a few bracelets from Cartier in the past, including the $8,550 white gold Juste un Clou, and $30,400 white gold paved small Love bracelet Brittany posted a number of photos of their family to her Instagram account to honor him. 'Happy Father's Day to our rock! The most incredible, loyal most fun dad everrrrrr! The way you love us is unmatched!' Brittany captioned the post. 'You never let a day go by without letting these kids know how special they are! We love you.' Patrick replied to Brittany's post, saying 'Love yall!' while adding a red heart emoji. The photos showed Patrick and Brittany Mahomes alongside their three children: Sterling, four, Patrick 'Bronze' Mahomes III, two, and newborn daughter Golden.
