Japanese-American racing driver and content creator Hana Burton, along with rally driver Maaya Orido, took part in the FIA Girls on Track program in Tokyo on the sidelines of the Tokyo E-Prix to do their bit in encouraging several young girls to take up motorsport as a career option.
As part of the program, young girls between 12 and 18 had the chance to participate in workshops, gaming, career talks, and a Pit Lane walk under the FIA's initiative to promote empowerment and education in motorsport and engineering. 120 girls also had the opportunity to take an immersive E-Karting masterclass.

Sharing a few pictures from the Girls on Track program during the Tokyo E-Prix, Hana Burton wrote on Instagram, 'Can you guess what I'm explaining about the car in the first pic? LOVED being a part of the @fia.official @fiaformulae Girls on Track event at @citycircuit.tokyobay again this year, also had the chance to speak at the event stage at the E-Prix about my career.'
'And thankfully it was sunny this year so the girls got to have a go with the EV karts! There were many great questions about being a part of the Motorsport world as a woman. It's lovely to see the progress involving us in the space and I'm grateful to now be in a position to offer advice to many brilliant young women!! Thanks you for having me and @maaya_orido_559!!' she added.
Another Formula E driver, Maaya Orido, also shared happy pictures from the Girls on Track program in Tokyo. She wrote along with them in Japanese, 'I went to Girls on Track again this year. I rarely have the chance to talk and interact with women like this, so I had a lot of fun interacting with so many people this year. It was my first time riding a tandem kart, but it was so much fun. It was a great experience again this year! Thank you.

'Eat the rich': Venice protests shadow Jeff Bezos' wedding

At least 500 protesters marched through Venice on Saturday, condemning Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's wedding to journalist Lauren Sanchez, a lavish affair that has drawn backlash in the historic Italian city. People hang a banner 'No Space for Bezos' on the Rialto Bridge during a protest a day after the wedding ceremony of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice, on June 28, 2025.(AFP) "Bezos, out of the lagoon", the demonstrators chanted as they wound through the city centre, some brandishing signs that read: "Eat the rich", "Rejected", and accusations that Venice's mayor is "corrupt". The peaceful protest, held in sweltering heat, was led by the "No place for Bezos" group, which has campaigned for days against what it calls the couple's harmful economic and environmental footprint on the city. "We are here against what Bezos represents, his model, the Amazon model, based on exploiting people and land," said Alice Bazzoli, 24, an activist with "No Space for Bezos" who has lived in Venice for five years, speaking to AFPTV. Protesters later unfurled a large "No place for Bezos" banner and lit flares above the famous Rialto Bridge spanning the Grand Canal. Matteo Battistuta, a 20-year-old student, said he wanted to send the message that "Venice is fighting back, it's not a dead city, it acts in its own interest before tourism's". "We believe Venice can still be a place worth living in," he added. Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, exchanged vows during a ceremony Friday evening on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, opposite St Mark's Square. The ceremony capped off a week of yacht parties and VIP events, due to end with a lavish ball Saturday night -- as Venetians remain divided over the impact on the city's image. Guests included Ivanka Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kim Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, American football star Tom Brady, TV host Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates.

Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, broke down in tears as he performed the last rites. Family, close friends, and fellow television stars gathered to pay their last respects. Harry Anand, who worked with Shefali on Kaanta Laga, remembered her fondly. 'Shefali was a happy-go-lucky girl. I vividly remember the time I spent with her during the Kaanta Laga shoot and other songs. She was extremely sweet, and she always greeted me with a smile on her face. I am in shock. It's hard to believe that Shefali is no more,' he said. 'Shefali was a happy-go-lucky girl. I vividly remember the time I spent with her during the Kaanta Laga shoot and other songs. She was extremely sweet, and she always greeted me with a smile on her face. I am in shock. It's hard to believe that Shefali is no more,' Harry grieved. 'Woh apne saath Kaanta Laga song ko humesha ke liye amar bana gayi. There will not be another Kaanta Laga song, and there will not be another Kaanta Laga girl. She will be greatly missed. May God give strength to her family and friends,' Harry said. Earlier, Shefali's ex-husband, singer Harmeet Singh of the Meet Bros duo, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, remembering her. He expressed grief over the news and also shared his regret at not being able to attend her funeral, as he is currently in Europe. Calling it 'one of the most shocking moments' of his life, Harmeet said he was 'absolutely shattered and in disbelief.' Along with an old picture of Shefali, he wrote an emotional message: 'One of the most shocking moments of my life. I'm absolutely shattered and in disbelief after hearing about Shefali's sudden and untimely demise. We shared a few beautiful years together a long time ago--memories I'll always hold close to my heart. My deepest condolences to her parents, Satish ji and Sunita ji, her husband Parag, and her sister Shivani. Being away in Europe right now, it's painful for me not to be there for the last rites. Gone far too soon. I pray to the Almighty for her soul to rest in peace and for strength to her family during this unimaginable time. Jai Shree Krishna.' Shefali Jariwala, whose career skyrocketed after her appearance in the hit 2002 music video Kaanta Laga, was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai on June 27, where she was declared dead upon arrival.
