Body of missing six-year-old boy from Johor found in Rompin, suspect arrested

SEREMBAN: Police have discovered remains believed to be those of a six-year-old boy reported missing in Johor Baru last week.
State police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof stated that the victim's remains were found buried in an area in Rompin, Jempol, this evening (July 28).
"Based on preliminary investigation, the remains are believed to be those of the six-year-old boy who was reported missing in Taman Bukit Indah in Johor Baru on July 24.
"A 36-year-old male suspect was subsequently arrested by Johor police to assist in investigations," he said in a statement.
DCP Ahmad Dzaffir confirmed that the victim's remains were found as a result of follow-up actions.
The victim is believed to have been murdered.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Offenders can be sentenced to death or jailed between 30 years and 40 years and whipped upon conviction.

In another case, a 39-year-old woman was charged with stealing three units of skincare products from a retail outlet at a shopping mall. Advertisement Hamisah Parman pleaded not guilty to stealing the products all worth RM166, from Watsons Personal Care Store on July 26, at 11.55am at the Watsons store in One Borneo Hypermall. The charge is framed under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine, and for a second or subsequent offence, mandatory imprisonment along with a fine or whipping, on conviction. The court set Sept 30 for PTCM and offered the accused bail of RM1,800 in two sureties. The court also ordered each accused to report to the investigating officer once a month and not to interfere with the prosecution's witnesses or the complainant in each case. KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating all aspects surrounding the alleged leak of the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) meeting minutes, which surfaced online on 12 July. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said this was to ensure the probe is carried out comprehensively, fairly, and in accordance with the rule of law. He said police are also working with related agencies, including JAC to complete this investigation. "An investigation has been carried out under Section 8 of the Official Secrets Act 1972, Section 203A of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. "The investigation paper will be referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action once the investigation is complete," he said. He said this in a written reply to Ramkarpal Singh (PH–Bukit Gelugor) regarding the status of a police report made by a Federal Court judge's officer on purported JAC meeting minutes that were leaked. On July 13, police confirmed receiving a report regarding the leak of a document alleged to be minutes from a JAC meeting, which recently circulated on social media.

District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail, said the duo, a 29-year-old local man and a 36-year-old foreigner were detained at Jalan Tengah Nipah. Dzulbaharin said the duo are suspected involved in a motorcycle theft case involving a Yamaha Y15ZR which belonged to a 28-year-old woman that reported it missing on July 23. 'Acting on tip-off, a team from the Lahad Datu Police Headquarters arrested both suspects at about 10.30pm. 'A check found that the man had three previous records related to drugs while the foreigner does not have an identification document,' he said.
