India and England are set to face off once again in less than two days in the five-match Test series in England. With India trailing 2-1 and on the back of a painful defeat at Lord's, momentum is firmly with Ben Stokes' side.
In a rather bold press conference for the hosts,
Harry Brook
spoke to the media ahead of the 4th Test at Old Trafford
Cricket
Ground.
As the batter went over the moments of the heated 3rd Test and England's chances in the one that was set to follow, he made a strong claim about one of his teammates.

took top spot as the highest-ranked Test batter in the recent ICC rankings. Speaking on the same, Brook lauded his teammate and even went on to call him the "best batter of all time."
Quizzed on whether there was any rivalry going on between himself and Root in the team, Brook was quick to dismiss it. "Oh, everybody wants to be number one, don't they? Him, probably more than anybody else. But no, he's a phenomenal player. I'm not in the same league as him, so I'll happily let him have it," said Brook with a chuckle, as he spoke to the reporters ahead of the 4th Test.

Adding to his argument on what makes Root so good, Brook said, "He's played for 12, 13 years—or however long he's played.

In my opinion, he's the best Test batter of all time, so I'll let him have that one."
Root also broke several records in the series, with one not being related to the bat as well. With his 211th catch in Test cricket, he now leads the list for catches taken in the format, bettering India legend Rahul Dravid's record of 210. He took a splendid one-handed catch of Karun Nair in the 3rd Test.
Root has been in impeccable form for the hosts, racking up crucial runs in the last three Tests.
In the previous match at Lord's, the 34-year-old scored a gritty 104 off 199, and managed 40 in the second innings.

Brook, however, failed to impress with the bat in both innings at Lord's, where he only managed 11 and 23 respectively. However, the hosts managed to get over the line and reestablish their series lead with a 22-run victory.
The 4th Test will commence on July 23, with India looking to secure a win to stay alive in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Mitch Marner's shocking trade shakes Leafs Nation as Nick Robertson trade buzz grows louder

Toronto Maple Leafs are facing turmoil after their playoff exit, highlighted by Mitch Marner's trade (Photo by Gerry Angus/Icon Sportswire) The Toronto Maple Leafs' offseason has taken a turbulent turn, with the franchise still reeling from another early playoff exit. But it's not just the loss to the Florida Panthers that has fans restless — it's the massive shake-up that followed. Mitch Marner, one of the team's cornerstone stars, is no longer wearing blue and white. His sign-and-trade to the Vegas Golden Knights — where he inked an 8-year, $96 million deal — sent shockwaves through Leafs Nation. Nick Robertson emerges as trade rumor target amid identity crisis While the Leafs received Nicolas Roy in return, his bottom-six forward role is no match for the offensive engine that was Marner. With 102 points last season and 741 over his nine-year career in Toronto, replacing him isn't just hard — it's nearly impossible. 'Mitch Marner was far more than a point scorer… he carried the team's offensive burden night after night,' the article states. — undefined (@undefined) As the team begins to recalibrate, another name is surfacing — Nick Robertson. A recent episode of the 32 Thoughts Podcast lit up speculation when insider Elliotte Friedman said: 'I had a couple people ask me about the possibility of Nick Robertson and Pittsburgh; Kyle Dubas knows him…' Dubas, now at the helm in Pittsburgh, drafted Robertson in 2019 and may see untapped potential in the 24-year-old winger. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Susan Boyle Is Now so Thin and Looks Beautiful! Undo Robertson has battled through injuries but showed glimpses of promise, posting 27 points in 56 games in 2023–24 and returning healthy last season. With his recent one-year, $1.2 million deal, the Leafs seem to be keeping doors open. But the bigger question is: are they investing in his growth, or simply boosting his trade value? Can Robertson fill the Marner-sized hole — or is he being set up to fail? While Robertson lacks Marner's pedigree, his cost-effective contract and improving form make him an intriguing piece. Whether the Leafs see him as a long-term asset or a short-term solution remains unclear. Why the Los Angeles Lakers Could Part Ways With $55 Million Father-Son Duo for San Antonio Spurs Young Talent and Pick Swaps

Lebron James and Bronny James (Image via Getty) The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be fully invested in building around Luka Doncic , signaling a significant shift in the franchise's priorities. According to recent reports, the team is no longer tailoring its plans around LeBron James . While relations between LeBron and the Lakers are calm for now, the possibility of a trade request remains in the background. LeBron's large contract and no-trade clause make moving him a complicated process, but that hasn't stopped trade scenarios from circulating. One of the more intriguing proposals comes from Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey, who has outlined a deal that would send both LeBron and his son, Bronny James, to a Western Conference rival. Proposed Los Angeles Lakers-Spurs Trade Bailey's hypothetical trade involves the San Antonio Spurs acquiring the father-son duo in exchange for two young scorers and future draft considerations. As Bailey notes, 'This might not be the type of LeBron trade return that some Lakers are hoping for, [but] getting an aging superstar off the team for two solid players and draft capital might be the Los Angeles Lakers' best option moving forward.'
