Luís Campos' contract situation causing tension at PSG
There had been hope at PSG that the extensions of Campos and Luis Enrique would be made simultaneously. The latter's extension has now been confirmed but an agreement with the former is still some way off. Campos wants to extend but has become increasingly frustrated in recent weeks with the lack of progress. He would like a quick conclusion, however, there is, for now, a gap between the sporting director and PSG regarding the salary.
Meanwhile, multiple reports have come out linking Campos with roles at Arsenal, Chelsea, and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The latter have denied Le Parisien's report, in which a €200m offer was touted. Les Parisiens have perceived these recent links as a means of Campos applying pressure in order for negotiations to advance.
According to L'Équipe, the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Liverpool may have a bearing on negotiations between PSG and their sporting director. Qualification at the expense of the Premier League leaders could see Campos' financial demands met but a loss could see PSG explore other options.
Atletico Madrid's Andréa Berta is the priority target, although the Italian is highly coveted elsewhere too. Some sources have even evoked talks between Berta and Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Liverpool linked with Parma starlet Italian side reject €35m offer Defender favours stay in Serie A Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? According to Corriere dello Sport, via Tutto Mercato, Parma have received a bid of around €35m (£30m) for the 18-year-old defender from an unnamed Premier League outfit. The Serie A team have turned down the offer as the centre-back is said to want to stay in Italian football, with the teenager favouring a move to Inter Milan. THE BIGGER PICTURE The 6ft 5in youngster is highly rated in Italy, with many likening him to Inter ace Alessandro Bastoni. If a Premier League side has forked out £30m to try and sign him, that indicates that clubs are very excited about his future. Tottenham enter battle with Premier League rivals for La Liga sensation
Tottenham enter battle with Premier League rivals for La Liga sensation originally appeared on The Sporting News The summer exit of Heung-min Son did more than mark the end of a glittering chapter at Tottenham - it has opened up a void on the left side of the attack that the club can no longer afford to ignore. Chairman Daniel Levy, who has been cautious but deliberate in the market is now narrowing his sights on a player who has long been admired inside Spurs' recruitment department. According to AS, that player is Real Madrid's Rodrygo Goes, whose future in Spain is becoming less certain with every passing week. Tottenham have already contacted Real Madrid to request permission to speak directly with Rodrygo's representatives. So far, the winger has not expressed any desire to leave the Bernabeu, but his reduced minutes during the Club World Cup under new manager Xabi Alonso have not gone unnoticed. The emergence of 21-year-old Gonzalo Garcia and the arrival of Argentine talent Franco Mastantuono have added to the growing competition for places in the Madrid front line. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Rodrygo's preferred position on the left wing has long been occupied by Vinicius Junior. According to the same report, the financials might be the least of Tottenham's concerns. With Son gone, the club is shedding its highest wage of €11m [$12.7m] annually, which creates ample salary room. Rodrygo earns €400,000 [$462,322] a week, per Capology, a figure Tottenham could potentially meet with help from the club's new American investor. Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs now hover in Rodrygo's orbit Reportedly, before finalizing any pursuit of Rodrygo, Tottenham are focusing efforts on a move for Joao Palhinha as new boss Thomas Frank has prioritized the Bayern Munich midfielder. Once a deal is struck there, Levy is expected to escalate talks with Madrid. Liverpool are reportedly also monitoring the winger, especially after Newcastle rejected their £120m [$160m] bid for Alexander Isak. Arsenal remain in the mix but are reportedly deterred by Rodrygo's salary demands, per Arsenal Insider, after already spending £200m [$265m] this window. Real Madrid Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Liverpool Midfielder: Should Alonso Get Him On Board?
In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are keeping a keen eye on Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister. It has been stated that Los Blancos are showing interest in the Argentina international, but could struggle to get a deal done for him this summer. Mac Allister's Excellent Campaign In English Football Mac Allister had a great campaign at the Merseyside club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The Argentine talent made 49 appearances for the Reds last season, scoring seven goals and grabbing six assists on all fronts. The 26-year-old anchored the midfield well for Liverpool as he made 95 tackles, 61 blocks and 22 interceptions in the Premier League. He even distributed the ball accurately from midfield, based on his pass completion rate of 83.5% in league football (stats via His current contract at Anfield will expire in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for Real Madrid to sign him on a cut-price deal this off-season. LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – APRIL 27: Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool during the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC at Anfield on April 27, 2025 in Liverpool, England. (Photo by) Should Real Madrid Boss Xabi Alonso Get Mac Allister On Board? Mac Aliister can do a little bit of everything in the middle of the park. He is a tough-tackling midfielder who can scan the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. The Argentine talent doesn't mind clearing the danger when needed and is an excellent passer of the ball. He can even chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals from midfield. Mac Allister is primarily a holding midfielder but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. However, he might need some time to adjust to life in La Liga. The Argentine sensation would no doubt enhance the quality of Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso's midfield department. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. At 26, Mac Allister is about to enter his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Madrid giants to consider this summer. He might even help Los Blancos compete for a lot of major honours over the next few years. Thus, it makes sense for Alonso to go all out to get him on board this summer or at the end of next season.
