Mumbai Indians star Rohit Sharma gifts Lamborghini SUV to stunned cricket fantasy winner amidst IPL 2025

Mint20-05-2025
One lucky cricket fan had the biggest surprise of his life after Mumbai Indians legendary batsman Rohit Sharma gifted him his personal Lamborghini Urus SUV.
The lucky fan is a contest winner of the fantasy cricket platform Dream 11.
The MI veteran personally gifted the sports luxury SUV, which apparently costs north of ₹ 4 crore, and the video has since gone viral. Watch here:
Prior to the start of the Indian Premier League season 2025, Dream 11 ran a promotion ad campaign with many cricketers, including Sharma.
In one of those campaigns, 'Hitman', as Sharma is fondly known, promised his Lamborghini Urus SUV to one of the lucky winners of the cricket fantasty platform.
And the MI veteran kept his promise as he gave the keys to the swanky blue SUV to the stunned winner.
The SUV has a special number plate with the digita '264'. The numbers denote his highest ODI score, which he hit against Sri Lanka in 2013, and is also the highest individual ODI score till date.
The 38-year-old has not had the greatest of IPL campaigns from a personal point of view as he has been below his usual best.
In 11 innings in IPL 2025, Sharma has scored 300 runs at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 152.28.
However, MI have pulled strongly towards the business end of the league stage and currently sit fourth in the table with 14 points from 12 matches.
The five-time champions are well set to earn a playoff spot but they will have to beat fellow contender Delhi Capitals, who sit just a place below them in the standings with one lesser point from 12 matches.
MI face DC at the Wankhede Stadium on May 21, Wednesday, at 7:30 pm, in what will be a virtual quarterfinal.

IPL 2026: Nitish Kumar Reddy Breaks Silence On His Future With Sunrisers Hyderabad Amid Trade Rumours

India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has broken silence on his future with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) amid the trade rumours. According to a report from India Today, Nitish had expressed his desire to leave SRH over his role in the team, especially after being pushed down the batting order. However, the 22-year-old all-rounder on Sunday took to social media to issue clarification, saying that he will always stand by his current IPL team. "I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I'll always stand by this team," wrote Reddy on his 'X' account. Ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction, Visakhapatnam-based Reddy was retained by SRH at Rs six crore. It came after Reddy amassed 303 runs in 13 matches and also took three wickets in IPL 2024, which paved his way for selection into India T20I and Test teams. But Reddy failed to repeat his heroics in IPL 2025 - scoring only 182 runs in 13 games and didn't bowl a lot of overs due to his recovery from a side strain which kept him out of action after the first T20I against England earlier this year.

‘Terror and sports cannot go together': Congress on Asia Cup matches against Pakistan

The Chandigarh Congress has opposed the proposed India-Pakistan cricket matches scheduled to be held during the Asia Cup in September, urging the Union Government to withhold clearance for the fixtures. The party has argued that 'terror and sports cannot go together,' questioning the moral and strategic logic behind resuming cricket ties with Pakistan. Rajiv Sharma, chief spokesperson of the Chandigarh Congress, said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to play against Pakistan at a neutral venue. He said the people of Chandigarh and other places in the country are upset with what he termed an 'unwarranted agreement,' particularly at a time when Operation Sindoor, launched in response to cross-border terrorism, is still ongoing. 'It is extremely disappointing that while not a single perpetrator of the Pahalgam attack has been brought to justice, the cricket boards of both nations are moving towards friendly sporting ties,' Sharma said. He warned that Indian sponsors' funds could inadvertently benefit the Pakistan Cricket Board, which, he claimed, may use the money to further terror activities against India. The Congress leader also questioned the BCCI's rationale behind opting for a neutral venue to accommodate Pakistan's interests, stating that India holds the right to host the tournament and should not compromise its position. Calling the decision an 'insult to the self-respect of the people of Chandigarh and the nation,' Sharma urged Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari to raise the issue in Parliament. He also slammed the office-bearers of the Union Territory Cricket Association for their silence on the matter, accusing them of compromising national pride for personal or political gains.

He pummelled England Champions, clobbered every delivery that landed in his arc and returned unbeaten with 116 from a mere 51 deliveries. Despite getting the thrill of his sizzling exploits, de Villiers doesn't entertain the idea of returning to top-level cricket again and told ANI, "I am not playing international or big franchise cricket again. This is the king of leagues I will commit to."
