Tottenham confirm first transfer of the window after triggering loan star's option to buy on a permanent deal

The transfer included an obligation to buy, with Tottenham spending £21million to make the move permanent.
Updating fans, Spurs confirmed their Danso switch while also referencing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's permanent move to Marseille.
Their statement read: "As previously announced, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's loan to Marseille will become a permanent transfer this summer, while Kevin Danso's loan to us from RC Lens becomes a permanent move."
Danso made 10 Premier League appearances for Spurs either side of a hamstring injury.

It took 22 attempts, but Cork City finally secured a long-awaited first clean sheet of the season in a 0-0 draw against St Patrick's Athletic. It proved another acrimonious night in front of 2,276 fans at Turner's Cross, but Bohemians lifted the mood by snatching a late draw from Sligo Rovers. While they sit rooted to the foot of the table, the Leesiders remain four points adrift of Rovers, rather than six. If it proves to be Tein Troost's final game as City keeper, he at least signed off with a first shut-out. However, for two teams desperately in need of a victory, this was a disappointing draw.
