Sridhar Babu seeks UAE industrialists' help in realising TG's $3 trillion GSDP dream
The Minister noted that the state has devised plans to expand dry ports, multimodal logistics parks, and industrial corridors. Net-zero industrial parks, EV zones, green logistics hubs, the Regional Ring Road (RRR), and Metro Phase–2 will give further boost to industrial development. The Future City being developed to global standards will become a world hub for FinTech, Climate Tech, and Smart Mobility innovation. Telangana is witnessing rapid growth in data centers, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), AI labs, and aerospace clusters.
'Though geographically small, Telangana is a state with grand ambition and strong implementation. In a short span, it has risen like a phoenix and emerged as a model in development and welfare for other states. In 2024–25, Telangana recorded a GSDP growth of 8.2%, which is higher than the national average of 7.6%. Telangana's contribution to the national GDP has exceeded 5%,' he explained.
Minister elaborated that over the past 18 months, Telangana attracted over Rs 3.2 lakh crore in fresh investments. In the financial year 2024–25, exports from Telangana to the UAE have increased 2.5 times. Pharma, aerospace, digital services, and food processing sectors have played a crucial role. Prominent UAE-based companies like Lulu Group, DP World, and NAFFCO have already made investments in the state. 'This is not just an investment summit—it is a reunion of old friends and a launchpad for the future. Like the UAE, Telangana values time, trust, and transformation. There are vast opportunities in Telangana across AI, emerging technologies, life sciences, green hydrogen, renewable energy, logistics, warehousing, trade infrastructure, food processing, agro exports, aerospace, defence manufacturing, electric vehicles, smart mobility, tourism, wellness, and medical sectors,' he emphasised.
The Minister extended a fresh invitation to UAE industrialists to invest in Telangana. UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, Telangana IT and Industries Special Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar, TSIIC MD K Shashank, UAE Ministry of Investment Under Secretary Mohammed Al Wahaibi, UAE International Investors Council Secretary General Walid Hareb Al Falahi, and Investopia CEO Dr Jean Fares were present.

The attack, codenamed Operation Glad Tidings of Victory, followed a 16 June drone attack by Iran on the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq.

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad is rapidly evolving into a global hub for legal technology, significantly enhancing the global presence of the Telangana brand, said IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. He was speaking at the valedictory session of 'The Grand Masters 2025 - Hyderabad Edition', organised by Lex Witness at Novotel HICC. Speaking on the occasion, he said, 'My professional journey began as a lawyer and later, due to unforeseen circumstances, I entered politics. Over time, the judicial system has undergone considerable transformation, particularly with the adoption of technology. Today, tools such as AI-driven legal research, virtual courtrooms, real-time case tracking, and e-filing have become integral components of legal processes.' He said that lawyers are not merely officers of the court, but are sculptors of equality and custodians of the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. 'Modern-day lawyers are not just legal experts — they have emerged as business enablers, compliance navigators, and tech-integrated advisors. According to the NASSCOM Legal Tech Report 2025, nearly 63% of large Indian enterprises are relying on AI and automation for their legal operations,' the minister said. He added that Hyderabad is home to over 120 legal tech startups working on innovative solutions in areas such as e-discovery, dispute analytics, and virtual IPR platforms. The IT Minister expressed concern over the staggering backlog of cases in the Indian judiciary. 'As of December last year, over 5.1 crore cases were pending across India, with district courts alone accounting for 4.5 crore. Telangana too has over 10 lakh pending cases. Justice delayed is justice denied, and this reality demands urgent attention,' Sridhar Babu remarked. 'Legal practice should not be pursued solely as a means of livelihood, but as a social responsibility. Lawyers must develop the ability to resolve complex issues in tune with the changing landscape. Your true client is not just the person or entity that hires you, but the entire legal ecosystem,' the minister added.

BJP slams TG govt for ‘failure' to utilise central funds
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party state unit spokesperson Amarnath Sarangula has launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led state government headed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He claimed serious inefficiency and negligence in using central funds meant for the welfare and development of Telangana. Addressing the media on Saturday, Sarangula said, 'The Centre has been proactive in releasing funds to Telangana, but the incompetent Congress government is failing to utilize them. Instead of blaming the Modi government every day, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should reflect on his government's shortcomings.' He pointed out that Rs. 2,016 crore under various central schemes remained unutilized in the state government's bank accounts, as revealed in the recent CAG quarterly report. The BJP leader criticized the state's management of public finances and asserted that, due to a lack of reforms and administrative inefficiency, Telangana had missed out on significant financial opportunities. 'Around Rs. 40,000 crore is being missed out because of the state's inability to implement citizen-centric reforms,' he noted, adding that this included Rs. 5,000 crore annually due to unimplemented power sector reforms. Delay in conducting Gram Panchayat elections had caused a loss of Rs. 1,500 crore in Finance Commission grants, he stated. Sarangula revealed that between 2020-21 and February 2025, the Centre released an impressive Rs. 78,859.87 crore to Telangana, yet large amounts remained idle each year. 'The Congress government's poor financial management had led to a loss of Rs. 7,857 crore in borrowing capacity and Rs. 5,000 crore in matching grants for central schemes,' he said. Criticizing the outgo for Hyderabad Metro Phase-2, Sarangula highlighted that the estimated cost of Rs. 24,269 crore (Rs. 318 crore per km) was 30% higher than that of similar projects elsewhere. He called for clarity and transparency from the state. Citing further inefficiencies, he pointed to under-utilization in key welfare schemes such as Minority Welfare, tuition fee reimbursement, and the 'Shaadi Mubarak' scheme. 'A double-engine government is the need of the hour to ensure Telangana's growth and optimal use of central funds,' Sarangula commented.
