Former world heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury is making his debut as England co-manager at Soccer Aid 2025.
A passionate Manchester United fan, Fury has expressed his immense pride and excitement over leading England out at his club's home ground.
He has compared the anticipation for Soccer Aid to that of a big boxing match.
His appearance is particularly significant as it marks his first major public event since retiring from boxing after his controversial second points defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury has refused to rule out the mouthwatering prospect of subbing himself on and forming a partnership with Man Utd's all-time record goalscorer Wayne Rooney.
Upon his announcement, Tyson Fury said: 'ENGLAND MANAGER! Who would ever have thought it!?
"I have had some big fights in my career and the prospect of leading my England team to victory this June fills me with just as much excitement as any heavyweight fight!
"Everyone knows that I am a huge Manchester United fan too, so it's even more special for me that the game is at Old Trafford this year — and I get to manage one of my heroes, Wayne Rooney!
"How can we lose!? The work UNICEF does all around the world is so special and so important.
"I really hope that you can come along and support us this summer.'

Rooney will also return to play in the match, bringing both his managerial and on-field experience to the team.
He has previously managed at Soccer Aid in 2020 and also played in 2021.
Rooney and Fury share a mutual respect and enthusiasm for the event and will be hoping to replicate the success of last year, when England won Soccer Aid 2024 6-3 to end a six-year wait to beat the World XI.

Marcus Rashford takes to the skies as Barcelona move appears close

Marcus Rashford appears to be closing in on his anticipated move to Barcelona after posting pictures of himself travelling on a private plane. Following Rashford's post, Spanish media reported that the Manchester United forward had arrived in Catalonia at around 9.30pm local time. The PA news agency understands United and Barcelona have been in talks over a season-long loan deal for Rashford that would include an option to buy. The 27-year-old has not played for his boyhood club since being hauled off in a Europa League match away to Viktoria Plzen on December 12 and ended the season on loan at Aston Villa. Rashford is among five players to have informed United they wish to explore a future away from Old Trafford, where he came through the academy and scored 138 goals in 426 first-team appearances. He has been training away from Ruben Amorim's first team since pre-season began while seeking a fresh start elsewhere. In December, the England international admitted he was 'ready for a new challenge' and last month revealed he would like to play alongside Barcelona's teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal. Barcelona sporting director Deco in May told Catalan radio station RAC1 that the club 'like' Rashford, who does not have a squad number at United having lost the 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha. Cunha is one of two new signings at United this summer, with the club having also added left-back Diego Leon. Bryan Mbeumo is set to join them at Old Trafford, with the Cameroon forward in the final stages of completing his move after United finally struck a deal with Brentford worth £65million plus up to £6million in add-ons.

England stars taken off pitch due to LIGHTNING strikes as match delayed by an hour

England completed their tour of the Americas by beating the USA 40-5 in Washington DC, but Steve Borthwick's players had to contend with a 40-minute delay during the first half England's rugby union stars were forced off the pitch during their clash with the USA because of lightning strikes. Steve Borthwick's side, missing key players amid the ongoing British & Irish Lions series, were continuing their tour of the Americas after two impressive wins over Argentina. ‌ Saturday marked England's first match in the USA since 2001. The fixture took place at Audi Field in Washington DC and kick-off had already been pushed back due to adverse weather conditions. ‌ Then in the first half, with England 14-0 up, lightning caused another delay lasting 40 minutes. England Rugby posted on social media: "Due to lightning strikes in the vicinity of Audi Field in Washington DC, players have been removed from the field of play." ‌ Lengthy delays were recently seen at football's Club World Cup in the USA. Chelsea and Benfica were forced to wait inside the changing rooms for nearly two hours during their match which was the sixth to be delayed due to weather conditions at the tournament. England eventually cruised to a 40-5 win, with captain George Ford making four conversions. Ford, 32, admitted that the conditions were challenging but was proud of his team-mates' efforts. "The conditions were difficult but it was a good group effort and a huge experience for the new players," the England skipper commented. ‌ Boss Borthwick handed debuts to Gabriel Oghre, Max Ojomoh, Joe Carpenter, Arthur Clark, Charlie Atkinson and Oscar Beard. The 45-year-old was full of praise for the youngsters in the circumstances. "They were challenging conditions, and with the weather break the game has lasted a long time," Borthwick said. "It's a scenario none of us have faced before - to deal with those conditions, with six new caps in the team today, was magnificent. "There are things you want to do better, yes, but I thought they were brilliant. I'm pleased with the way the players have approached all the games - all three were very different, and it's been a great experience in so many ways. ‌ Will the weather conditions negatively affect the 2026 FIFA World Cup? Have your say in the comments section. "We've had 10 new caps over three Tests and got depth developing - we can all see the physical nature of the team, which is athletic, quick, fit and the way the England team's moving." ‌ The ex-second row played last time England faced the USA across the pond. Sir Clive Woodward's team beat the hosts 48-19 in San Francisco - but Saturday was a very difference experience. "My memories were we were getting changed in the swimming pool changing room, so a leisure complex!" Borthwick laughed. "Playing here in such a unique, brilliant stadium. It's very different, which is terrific to see." England are on a run of seven successive victories, their longest winning streak since 2020 and a sign that confidence is growing after a difficult period last year. They'll take on Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and Argentina at Twickenham when the autumn internationals come around.
