LA CROSSE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in western Wisconsin say there is no indication of criminal activity in the death of 22-year-old Eliotte Heinz, though the investigation remains ongoing.
In an update Friday, the La Crosse Police Department said preliminary findings do not suggest any criminal conduct in connection with Heinz's death.

Officers say they are continuing to follow up on information related to the case, and final autopsy results are not expected for several months.
The investigation remains open at this time.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – Crews worked Monday evening to remove a pickup truck from a river in western Wisconsin after a fisherman reported the submerged vehicle, officials say. According to a release from the Eau Claire Fire Rescue, a fisherman notified officials at 5:32 p.m. that they believed they had found a pickup truck submerged in a section of the Chippewa River. Two men hurt in Sheboygan crash, one driver arrested for OWI Crews responded to an area of water near the Riverview Boat Landing in Eau Claire and used sonar equipment to confirm that there was a vehicle submerged in the river. The Eau Claire Fire Rescue's Dive Team was called in and found the pickup truck just in front of the landing. The truck was said to be unoccupied at the time. Divers were able to assist A to Z Towing in salvage and recovery operations. No other information is available as officials are working to identify the owner of the pickup truck. The incident, which is still under investigation, occurred on June 30 as a train with three engines and 16 cars derailed. The engines all left the tracks, as did many railcars. A Facebook post shared by the Silver Birch Ranch on Saturday afternoon details the tragic incident that happened around 1:15 p.m. on Friday, July 25, when a teenage camper went underwater and did not resurface. Silver Birch Ranch is a Christian camp in the Village of White Lake in Langlade County. Man found dead in home after multiple agencies battle fire in Winnebago County, cause unknown Officials with the camp say the teenage boy was attending camp with his church youth group and was swimming in the designated area when the incident began. Lifeguards were immediately alerted and were able to find and recover him from the lake to perform CPR and life-saving measures until emergency medical services arrived.
