Liverpool boss Arne Slot and defender Andy Robertson lay flowers at Anfield in tribute to Diogo Jota after his tragic death - as fans sign mural to the club's beloved 'Forever 20'
As the men's first team squad returned to pre-season training on Tuesday, the Slots and Robertson added their tribute to the sea of eulogies paid to club's No 20, laying flowers and penning heartwarming messages.
FSG CEO of football Michael Edwards was also pictured at Anfield paying his respects, having joined Slot, Robertson and several members of the Reds squad at the funeral for Jota and his younger brother Andre, who was also killed when their car crashed in the early hours of Thursday morning in northern Spain.
The accident came just 11 days after Jota had married childhood sweetheart Rute Cardoso, also 28, who is the mother of his two sons Dinis, four, and Duarte, two as well as his baby daughter Mafalda, who is just eight months old.
The devastating news has left the footballing world in shock and several stars were present at Jota and his brother's funeral on Saturday.
At Anfield on Tuesday, Slot was joined by his wife as he laid flowers for the player who scored the first goal of his reign at the club.
'Diogo, we had the same dream and we fulfilled it together,' began the poignant message from the Dutch boss on behalf of his family. 'Andre and yourself will forever be in our hearts. Arne, Mirjam, Isa and Joep.'
In the hours following Jota's devastatingly sad death, one of the most heartbreaking tributes came from his friend Robertson, who revealed the affectionate nickname 'MacJota' he had for the Portuguese striker.
The Scotland captain began his message with the loving moniker, writing: 'Our hearts are broken but feeling very grateful for the memories you gave us all! I will miss you. Love you brother, Robbo.'
Jota will be forever loved by Liverpool fans for his contribution during his five years on Merseyside. He made 182 appearances for the Reds and netted 65 times, while he provided 26 assists.
He was part of the Liverpool squad that won the Premier League title last season and previously won the FA Cup and two League Cups.
In addition to the floral tribute laid by fans in the days following his death and the scores that signed books of remembrance since the unfortunate event, supporters have begun to sign a mural in memory of the striker a short distance from the ground.
Situated on Sybil Road, the mural, marked by the words 'Forever 20' on one side and 'His name is Diogo - in reference to his song - on the other, has been populated by messages from from supporters still coming to terms with the loss of a fan favourite and, in time, a quality footballer.
Jota and his brother Andre died when their Lamborghini car had a tyre blow out on the A-52 at Cernadilla near Zamora in Spain.

The car is said to have burst into flames, with the brothers tragically unable to be saved.
They had been heading to Santander in order to get a ferry to Britain, with Diogo advised not to fly after lung surgery.
Alongside Mohamed Salah, the likes of Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong, Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, and Robertson were also pictured arriving for the start of pre-season on Tuesday.

Blackstenius hits top form as Sweden win Women's Euro group
July 12 (Reuters) - Sweden's Stina Blackstenius has timed the peak of her goal-scoring form perfectly, netting the winner for her club Arsenal in the recent Champions League final and then scoring against Poland and Germany as her side blazed their way into the quarter-finals at the Women's Euros as Group C winners. The Swedes beat Germany 4-1 to rack up a perfect nine points from their three games, and they will face the runner-up in Group D, which features England, France, Netherlands and Wales, while the Germans will meet the winners of that group. "I'm very happy that I've gained the confidence to play and I am happy with the goal that we got here today, but mainly because of the win today and that we are still in the tournament," a beaming Blackstenius told reporters.
