Boasting legends like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard, the West Indies Champions are ready to roar in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. To add to their flamboyance, they will wear the most expensive cricket jersey in the history of the sport, designed by Dubai-based luxury brand Lorenze in partnership with Channel2 Group corporation.
Scheduled from July 18 to August 2 across Birmingham, Northampton, Leicester, and Leeds, WCL 2025 brings together the heroes of yesteryears in a grand summer spectacle sanctioned by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
The iconic jersey, designed exclusively for the West Indies Champions, is embellished with real 18K gold, available in 30g, 20g, and 10g editions. This landmark release is a tribute to the rich heritage and legendary spirit of West Indies cricket greats — from Sir Clive Lloyd to Chris Gayle and the modern generation of icons.

Chandra Barot, the director of the 1978 cult classic film Don, passed away on Sunday, July 20, following a prolonged battle with pulmonary fibrosis. After his demise, Farhan Akhtar—who revived the franchise in 2006—also paid his respects to the departed soul with a heartfelt tribute. Farhan Akhtar took to Instagram and shared a picture of Chandra Barot along with a heartfelt note. While sharing the picture, Farhan wrote, 'Saddened to learn that the director of the OG Don is no more. RIP Chandra Barot-ji. Deepest condolences to the family." It was his wife, Deepa Barot, who confirmed the news of his passing and revealed that he had not been keeping well for a while. While speaking to TOI, Deepa Barot confirmed, 'He had been battling pulmonary fibrosis for the past seven years." She further revealed that the veteran filmmaker was undergoing treatment at Guru Nanak Hospital under Dr. Manish Shetty. He had also been admitted to Jaslok Hospital earlier. Farhan Akhtar, who revived the famous Don franchise in 2006 with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, is currently working on the third film in the franchise, with Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon as the new leads. Kiara Advani, who was initially set to play the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh, stepped away from the project after welcoming her first child—a daughter with Sidharth Malhotra—making space for Kriti Sanon to step in.
