Meanwhile, shooter Hajar Mohammed won the bronze medal in the women's individual skeet event.

Doha Bank, Qatar Equestrian Federation join hands to train young riders at summer camp
Tribune News Network Doha Doha Bank concluded the Summer Camp in collaboration with Qatar Equestrian Federation at Future Riders School. The programme, which targets children and adolescent from four to 17 years old, was held at the Future Riders School of the Qatar Equestrian Federation from Sunday, July 27 to Thursday, July 31, 2025, where the young riders received training on the principles of horse riding, suitable for the age stage of each of the participants. The participants also took part in entertainment and cultural activities, during daily classes throughout the five-day programme. The cooperation between Doha Bank and Qatar Equestrian Federation is part of an ongoing partnership between the two parties in supporting and sponsoring activities and championships in this field. The summer camp marks yet another episode of Doha Bank's ongoing CSR activities. The Bank is keen to support programmes and events in a comprehensive manner that covers different age groups, as part of the bank's policy of contributing to enriching its social engagement and widening its presence, by supporting sports and cultural activities that would promote Qatari cultural values. These initiatives are in line with the objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030, which encourages activities aimed at fostering healthy, active and proud society.

Qatar basketball team gears up for Asia Cup clash with Lebanon
Tribune News Network Doha The Qatar National Basketball Team is ramping up its preparations for the highly-anticipated match against Lebanon, scheduled for Wednesday (9pm) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is the opening fixture for both teams in Group A of the 31st FIBA Asia Cup 2025, hosted by Saudi Arabia for the second time, following its successful organization of the 1997 edition in Riyadh. The tournament draw placed Qatar in the formidable Group A alongside Australia, South Korea, and Lebanon, widely regarded as one of the toughest groups due to the high caliber of the competing teams. Qatar's campaign will continue with a match against South Korea on August 8, followed by a challenging encounter with Australia on August 10 to conclude the group stage. The tournament features four groups: Group B includes Japan, Iran, Syria, and Guam; Group C comprises China, Jordan, India, and Saudi Arabia; and Group D consists of the Philippines, New Zealand, Iraq, and Chinese Taipei. Under the competition format, group leaders advance directly to the quarterfinals, while second- and third-placed teams compete in crossover knockout matches to determine the remaining qualifiers. In a post on its official X account, the Ministry stated: 'We take pride in the achievement of Sheikha Asma Al Thani and her raising of the nation's flag on the summit of Gasherbrum I. What she has accomplished embodies the spirit of determination and perseverance, serving as an inspiration for Qatari youth to strive toward achieving their goals and overcoming challenges.' Sheikha Asma announced her successful ascent on Instagram last Monday, marking another milestone in her mountaineering journey. 'Gasherbrum I, my 10th 8000er. Another summit, another moment I'll never forget,' she wrote. She continued in the post: 'Standing here with the Qatar flag in my hand, I'm reminded why I started this journey. To test my limits. To represent something bigger than myself. And to show that dreams can take us far, if we're willing to go beyond boundaries.' Gasherbrum I, standing at 8,080 metres (26,510 feet) above sea level, is located in the Karakoram range of the Himalayas, straddling the border between Pakistan's Gilgit–Baltistan region and China's Xinjiang province. The mountain is part of the Gasherbrum Massif, a notoriously challenging area for climbers due to its extreme altitude and rugged conditions.
