Gokul Suresh snubs paparazzi over brother Madhav's film role: 'I know you twist headlines'
(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Actor Gokul Suresh recently made headlines for firmly refusing to answer questions about his brother Madhav Suresh 's performance in the film 'Janaki V vs State of Kerala'. Gokul, who accompanied his father Suresh Gopi to watch the movie, was approached by a group of YouTubers posing questions outside the theatre. In a sharp response, Gokul said, "I choose not to respond to paparazzi. Whatever I say gets misrepresented, passed around, and turned into multiple headlines. I'm well aware of how this game is played." Janaki V vs State Of Kerala - Official Trailer His remarks were captured on video and later shared by the same YouTubers — a move that quickly sparked widespread online discussion. Many viewers applauded Gokul for taking a strong stand against what they called the 'sensationalism culture' rampant in digital celebrity coverage. Several social media users praised his composure and transparency, noting that many YouTube paparazzi-style channels often manipulate short clips to generate clickable content. One netizen commented, "What Gokul said is correct." Another comment read, "That's an apt response." A third comment read, "Great job Gokul." Meanwhile, Gokul's brother Madhav Suresh had earlier opened up about similar challenges. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Her blood cancer has relapsed; she needs another transplant Donate For Health Donate Now Undo The actor cited cyberattacks and the stress of misleading headlines. 'JSK' out in theatres Madhav plays a key supporting role in Janaki V vs State of Kerala, a courtroom drama that has generated significant buzz for its strong performances and layered social themes. ETimes gave the movie a rating of 2.5 stars for the film and an excerpt from our review reads, "The film does suffer from its length and a muddled screenplay. A tighter, crisper edit would have served it better. While Suresh Gopi's monologues are familiar to Malayali audiences, they could have been trimmed without taking anything away from the film. Towards the climax, the lengthy dialogues become long-winded and, frankly, grating so close to the resolution. Some awkward English dialogues also stand out. That Pravin resists opting for a 'socially acceptable' ending, however, makes the film watchable."

VS preferences: Cucumber for shaving cream, Bhagwad Gita to refresh mind
1 2 Kochi: VS never used shaving cream. He used cucumber. He cut the cucumber and used its juice instead of a cream. "Much before cucumber made it into beauty salons, VS has been using it," his press secretary K V Sudhakaran once told TOI with a chuckle. A voracious reader, VS had a special liking for Bhagwad Gita. "He has a great collection of Gita and I have seen him reading them many times," added Sudhakaran. -------------- Giggling through Left debacle In 2009, then-chief minister VS's post-poll giggles — while his CPM comrades wept over a 4-16 Lok Sabha rout — sparked a Marxist melodrama. Was it schadenfreude as rivals flopped? Or joy at Pinarayi Vijayan's faction eating humble pie? Deshabhimani thundered: "Only enemies laugh at defeat!" Writer Sukumar Azhikode called VS a traitor for chuckling while Rome burned. VS brushed off the criticism with characteristic nonchalance: "Each one according to his culture puts out such articles. " ------------------ Mimicry artists' Achumama Agree or not, V S Achuthanandan must thank mimicry artists too —especially with the advent of cable television — for his boost in popularity as the media had dismissed him at one point as too 'rustic' a leader to strike a chord with the masses. "We found his mannerisms cool and amusing," Diana Silvester, the producer of a hugely popular satire show on a TV channel, was once quoted as saying. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 15 most beautiful women in the world Undo Many actors aped his rare intonation style and unpredictable meters which the audience lapped up. The name Achumama, propagated to malign his image, was also accepted widely. --------------- Amul Baby touches raw nerve VS touched a raw nerve nationally in 2011 when he described Rahul Gandhi as an 'Amul Baby' after the then Congress general secretary provoked the communist veteran saying Kerala would have a 93-year-old as chief minister if LDF retained power in the state. Congress found VS's reference as an insult, formed a ring around the then 41-year-old and went hammer and tongs at VS though Shashi Tharoor tweeted "Amul babies r fit, strong, focused on the future". Amul, as always, tapped into the controversy and brought out an advertisement.

When VS Achuthanandan made his film debut at 93, fighting a powerful bottling plant threatening people's drinking water resources
To describe VS Achuthanandan, who served as the 11th Chief Minister of Kerala, as anything less than 'the Vanguard of Revolution' would be an injustice. For the greater part of his life, spanning over a century, he has remained at the forefront of resistance movements for the downtrodden and in relentless pursuit of justice. Born into a poor Ezhava family, the Communist Party of India–Marxist (CPI–M) strongman was orphaned before reaching his teenage years. With no choice but to find work to survive, Achuthanandan dropped out of school in Class VII and became a child labourer. Even amid his struggles for survival and a life marred by hardships, he refused to lead a self-centred life. From that early age until he withdrew from public life a few years ago due to ill health, his journey spanned over eight tumultuous decades. It was marked by unwavering political stances that aligned with the interests of common people, a deep understanding of justice, and a commitment to action over rhetoric. That is precisely why 'VS', beyond being just his initials, grew to symbolise one of the most influential and unshakeable chapters in Kerala's history. Known for his distinctive speech delivery and natural flair for humour, VS Achuthanandan earned admirers across generations. From schoolchildren to professionals, whenever the opportunity arose to perform mimicry, many rushed to the stage to imitate his highly theatrical mannerisms and expressive body language. The thunderous applause such performances received was testament to his widespread influence. Interestingly, that indirect one wasn't his only brush with the performing arts. Did you know that the legendary Marxist leader — who also served as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Kerala Assembly for 15 years — once appeared in a movie? Yep, you heard that right. And no, we're not referring to fictional characters inspired by him. VS Achuthanandan indeed appeared in a film as himself, marking his acting debut at the age of 93. Directed by Jeevan Das, the political drama Campus Diary was released in 2016, and in it, VS portrayed a fictionalised version of himself, lending support to a student-led environmental protest. The scene, filmed in Koothuparamba in Kannur district, depicted VS as a beloved political figure joining a group of college students protesting against a powerful bottling plant whose operations had disrupted the local drinking water supply. In the brief but impactful scene, VS was shown addressing the students, extending his solidarity. After the movie's release, VS watched it in a theatre, accompanied by his wife Vasumathy and son Arun Kumar. The film featured Sudev Nair, Thalaivasal Vijay, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mamukkoya, Sunil Sukhada, Gautami Nair, Joy Mathew, and Kottayam Naseer in key roles. VS Achuthanandan, 101, passed away at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. The Kerala government has declared a public holiday on Tuesday and three days of mourning. VS will be cremated at the Valiyachudukadu funeral ground in his home district of Alappuzha on Wednesday.
