The music composer recently spoke with IANS, and said that he believes in maintaining the essence of a song through minimal programming.
He told IANS, "For me, usually, you can't deconstruct my song. Because it is already very minimalistic. I feel that the song, and its emotion are the identities of the song. No matter how much programming you do, or don't do".
He further mentioned that this bent of mind to make the track sound great with less means is courtesy director
with whom he has been working for 20 years.
He said, "Many times, Mohit has heard my compositions only on the piano, and he gave an immediate approval. He has that knack to identify the impact of a song just from the piano. And many times, he finds it better. I feel that this is the speciality of Mohit Suri. Because I am a poet, a composer, an arranger. So, many times, my passion for music can empower me. Mohit doesn't let me use it".
"I tell him that I want to add violins to it, he says, 'No, don't do it'.
I want to add a chorus to it. He goes, 'No, don't do that'. But it is a music composer's passion. So, when I do another film, I put everything there".
He then spoke about how Mohit fine tuned the song with his inputs, as he shared, "That is Mohit's speciality. I am saying this for the first time. When I overstepped on 'Dhun' before the shoot. He called me. He told me that he missed the silences in the first draft. And that is the beauty of singing.

Where he climbs and where he descends. The protagonist is not a confident character, he is vulnerable. That silence is very important".
"If it was someone else, he would have been impressed. That the track sounds better because of more layers. Some other director would have been impressed. But this person is not impressed. He just wants to connect. I think that aspect enriches my music", he added.

Ananya Panday confesses she's not a crier, but couldn't stop weeping after watching cousin Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara

Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara, which marks the film debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has become the highest grossing Hindi film with newcomers. Backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, the movie has earned Rs 45 crore at the domestic box office within just two days since release. Ahaan is the brother of popular social media influencer Alanna Panday and the first cousin of actor Ananya Panday. Alanna and her husband Ivor McCray posted a vlog which gives a sneak peek into the Panday household across two days leading up to the release of Saiyaara. Titled 'My BROTHER'S first movie launch day! #Saiyaara vlog,' the video has Ivor taking the audience through the behind-the-scenes action. The vlog starts with the Panday family organizing a havan at their home two days before the release of Saiyaara. Ahaan Panday, sitting on the floor in a white kurta, reveals that he misses his dadi (paternal grandmother), whose portrait is also kept there to mark her presence. His father reveals Chikki Panday reveals Ahaan used to fight with his dadi to put ghee into the sacred fire in his childhood. In another scene, as the Panday family sit together in the living room, Alanna makes Ahaan hold her one-year-old son River. She describes him as the biggest fan of Krish Kapoor, the character Ahaan plays in Saiyaara. They plan to make River wear a t-shirt that says, 'I'm Krish Kapoor's best friend.' Ahaan reveals while River had not been warming up to his uncle all this while, he's suddenly took to him after watching the trailer of Saiyaara. We then see Ivor try to sing the Saiyaara title track, filmed on Ahaan, in broken Hindi. His singing gives way to laughter a couple of times as Alanna records her husband attempting to sing in Hindi. The family then visits the mini theatre at Yash Raj Studios for the film's first screening, where they also meet Aneet Padda and her parents. 'It's really nerve-wrecking. And also, he's (Ahaan) not helping much. I show my shaking hand, he's like, 'Me too!' (shows shaking hand),' Aneet says in the vlog. During the screening, Ivor makes River peep into the theatre to watch Ahaan Panday lip-syncing on the screen, much to his nephew's surprise. He even lets out a chuckle after Ivor steps away with River in his arms. After the screening, the Panday family hug Ahaan and Aneet and admit they were all crying throughout the film. Ananya reveals she had to poke her eyes to make herself cry at the wedding of Alanna and Ivor. Ananya adds she can't tell the difference between Ahaan and his character. Her mother, Bhavana Pandey, also admits she loved Krish. Ananya's father and Ahaan's uncle Chunky Panday is also seen dancing in excitement at the screening. Bigg Boss 18 Winner Karan Veer Mehra To Play The Villain In Ranveer Singh's Don 3? What We Know

Last Updated: Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra is being considered as the new villain in Don 3 opposite Ranveer Singh—following Vikrant Massey's exit. The long-awaited Don 3 took a fresh turn with a major casting shake-up. Kiara Advani, who was set to play the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh, stepped away from the project after welcoming her first child, a daughter with Sidharth Malhotra — making space for Kriti Sanon to step in. Meanwhile, rumour mills are abuzz about new potential villain candidates. Vikrant Massey has officially exited the film, leaving room for a new face. Actor and Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra has now emerged as a leading contender for the antagonist role. Sources close to IANS say the offer was hard to refuse. The reports explain that although nothing is signed yet, filmmakers are impressed with Karan's recent performance and screen presence, especially after his gritty role in Silaa. There were earlier whispers that South superstar Vijay Deverakonda had been approached for the same role. But following Liger's box office failure, Deverakonda reportedly declined. Vikrant quickly followed suit, reportedly finding the role not substantial enough. And now, Karan could be stepping into the shoes of the classic Don antagonist. With Kriti Sanon officially confirmed as the female lead after Kiara Advani's exit, the pieces are falling into place. Produced by Blue Lotus, Stark Entertainment, and Zee Studios, Don 3 is expected to begin filming by late 2025. Karan Veer Mehra began his acting journey with television, gaining early recognition through shows like Remix, Pavitra Rishta, and Havan. Over the years, he built a steady presence on Indian TV and digital platforms, often playing intense or supporting characters. His popularity spiked further after winning Bigg Boss 18, which marked a turning point in his public image and opened doors in film. Meanwhile, even though Excel Entertainment has confirmed Kriti Sanon as the leading lady for Don 3, they are yet to address rumours about Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra making cameos in the film. . The film is expected to go on floors in January 2026. First Published: July 20, 2025, 12:04 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
