Yesterday's Strategic Conference concluded with a high-level ministerial panel discussion, where senior Egyptian government officials outlined their strategies for energy collaboration, policy frameworks, and investment mechanisms to support international investment. Discussions focused on securing energy supply, expanding exploration programmes, integrating renewables into national grids, and advancing low-carbon initiatives to drive long-term energy stability.

The final day of EGYPES 2025 continued to foster high-level dialogue, with thought leaders exploring the evolving energy landscape and investment strategies.
The Finance & Investment Conference examined the role of global capital in funding energy security and sustainable development. Demonstrating the importance of strategic investment and cross-governmental collaboration, Minister of Finance, HE Ahmed Kouchouk remarked, 'Comprehensive plans are being implemented with clearly defined budgets, alongside cross-governmental collaboration to ensure positive societal impact. A diversified 'energy mix' approach is being pursued, and substantial budgetary allocations have been dedicated to upgrading electricity networks, ensuring reliable power for both government and the energy sector. This investment will support the vigorous implementation of all necessary projects. Furthermore, a collaborative partnership with the Saudi Minister of Energy, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, is proving highly beneficial, with his support and resources facilitating productive cooperation between the two countries.'
Discussions turned to the future of leadership in the energy sector at the Leadership and Development Conference, where C-suite executives explored the impact of technology, sustainability, and workforce transformation. Sessions focused on equipping industry leaders with the skills and strategies needed to navigate decarbonisation, foster innovation, and build a resilient energy workforce capable of driving long-term growth.
Karim Badawy, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum concluded EGYPES 2025 and was quoted as saying: 'The conference aimed to comprehensively address the energy sector's key concerns. Furthermore, we emphasized the integrated approach necessary at all levels to achieve sustainable energy goals.

EGYPES Energy Awards: Recognising Industry Excellence
The EGYPES 2025 Energy Awards, held last night, honoured exceptional contributions within the energy sector across four distinguished categories. In the Best Health and Safety Project of the Year category, the winner was Amr Lifescience Egypt, recognised for their Carbolex device, designed to reduce gas emissions and facilitate graphene production. The Best Breakthrough Project of the Year category saw the LDAR programme win, aimed at monitoring and mitigating fugitive emissions. The Operational Excellence Project of the Year category was awarded to BP, recognised for their LDHI project, which fosters innovation in gas and condensate production in Egypt. Lastly, the Young Energy Professional of the Year was awarded to Malak Manie, HSSEQ and Maintenance Supervisor at TotalEnergies.

Moreover, the visit encompassed a strategic meeting with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI) —the CBE's training arm— to explore its capacity-building programs for banking sector personnel, aligned with the international best practices. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla welcomed his Nigerian counterpart, affirming that Egypt prioritizes its relations with African nations and is committed to strengthening cooperation with them, while sharing its successful expertise across various fields. Mr. Abdalla also congratulated Mr. Cardoso on the successful hosting of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) Meetings last month, expressing sincere appreciation for Nigeria's generous hospitality and warm reception during the event. From his side, H.E. Mr. Olayemi Cardoso emphasized the significance of the visit as an opportunity to deepen financial and economic cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed his great admiration for the Banknote Printing House, commending the advanced technologies employed in production processes, along with the high-level security measures in place to safeguard printed banknotes. Egypt, Pakistan discuss strengthening defence, security cooperation - Defence
Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel-Meguid Saqr hosted Pakistan's Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Sahir Shamshad Mirza, in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence and security. Both top military officials also tackled several issues of mutual interest, according to a statement from the Egyptian military spokesman. Minister Saqr asserted Egypt's pride in the strong ties with the Pakistani armed forces, emphasising the importance of further strengthening military cooperation. For his part, Mirza affirmed his country's commitment to supporting military ties with Egypt and exchanging expertise between their respective armed forces. The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Ahmed Khalifa, along with the commanders of the main branches and several senior military officers from both countries. In February 2024, the Egyptian and Pakistani Special Forces held the Raad-1 exercise in Egypt, as part of the military cooperation between both nations.
